Sure thing.  Just found it again now, it's on Tumblr, HERE.  Just hit play in the little box and... feels.

Now I'm crying even harder than with the MShep version... FemShep's voice just has so much more emotion to it. Makes it more touching...

Sweet merciful crap... I'm kinda glad they didn't put this in because if they did that would have just been another knife in the heart... :crying:

I decided to listen to it (kind of regret now, because it made things worse), but I remember parts of this conversation...not the whole thing. Probably because I was too busy crying over the next thing I knew was going to happen...aka the worst ending ever :crying:

I don't think Kotaku are the bad guys. The article seems to be written objectively and does raise valid points.

That being said, the dude who wrote it obviously wasn't a fan/didn't finish the games and as such he doesn't understand the connection everyone here has to the series. If he were, we would have gotten something more along the lines of the IGN article.

Hello Everyone,

I've been following this thread for the past couple days, since I "beat" the game. Though I refuse to acknowledge it as a true ending.

There's nothing I can say that will add anything to the cause except my own story, and I figure what the heck I might as well put it out there and add my voice to the chorus.

I was, obviously, disappointed by the "endings" that Bioware forced upon us, but to me, it was more than the fact that nothing I did mattered, or that there were major plotholes, or any of the other plot related issues everyone has brought up.

When I finished the game, I was dumbstruck. I had been completely prepared to see my Shepard sacrifice himself for the greater good, but the way it all played out made me physically ill. At the time, I didn't even have the ability to comprehend the major plotholes and pitfalls of the story. Watching those credits roll I felt what many have already voiced. Empty.

This was a game that I had waited years for. Not even counting in game, i postponed 3 midterm exams to have the chance to play though the game unhindered, I went to a midnight release, I did everything possible to make sure I would enjoy the game to its fullest. For 99% of the game, I even truely thought that it would replace Orcarina of Time as my favorite game of all time. Then those ever important last 10 min hit.

Its been a few days since I beat the game, and Ive been following the news on all channels, hoping I would see some redemption to the series that went, in 10 min, from my new favorite game ever, to a series I can't even stand to look at.

I know im preaching to the choir, but knowing that I wasnt the only one who felt cheated, and emotionally drained from the game is comforting. The feeling of being stabbed in the back by a good friend doesnt even adequately describe the letdown, as I'm sure you all know.

For what it's worth though, regardless of what bioware says (though I still have my fingers crossed) I will say that what Ive seen over the past couple days has been incredible. Not only did Commander Shepard bring together a completely fictional world, but he has also brought together people from all over the real world, on a scale I never even imagined could stay civil.

Fight the good fight, brothers and sisters.

We will hold the line.

I'm waiting for an official reaction of BioWare, respectively Casey Hudson and/or Mike Gamble.

I really hope they won't just stay silent.

Was checking out the facebook page and saw that someone had posted a link to another gaming site that says the endings were just bad. At least not all of them are against us right? gamingshogun.com/2012/03/09/mass-effect-3-leaves-me-angry-a-review-pc/

just got trojan attacks from that link, one of the comments?
false positive?

I am thinking a false positive, I opened and closed it a view times to check this for you and didn't have a problem. If you want I could copy and past the part about the ending into a pm and shoot it off to you.

No no, the whole family part is cutted out in the game, it'sonly "Feels like years I last sat down" and then he says he is proud of Shepard and dies :( I loved this scene when I first saw and found it perfect, but I thought he'd go a bit more personal. So I was really teared up when I heard this extended version for the first time. While he didnt say it, I do think Anderson felt Shepard was a son/daugther to him.

WHY THIS WAS CUT FROM THE GAME???????

That is seriously ridiculous if that was cut from the game! Because that right there is how you end a game and give it an emotional response from the gamer, not some red, green or blue light!

Thats sounded....awesome. I really hope they'll change ending tho i really doubt it.

IGN ftw.

Is this a blog from an IGN employee or just a fan with an IGN account?

Pretty sure it's just a fan with an IGN account, but it's better than anything IGN, Kotaku or any other "Game Review" site has published about the matter.

You know... I think I would even be happy with THIS ending. You know, with Liara speaking at the end instead of Tali, since Liara was my LI.

I'm waiting to see what the Penny Arcade guys think of all this. It's too juicy for them to leave it alone. If I had to guess, they'll probably come down on the side of the fans since they are gamers too.

Gotta love those people who say we should just take the endings as they are and not complain.

You people are only going in the direction of water if you burn, do you?

Instead of Kataku's BS.

"Honestly, ask yourself. What were you expecting when you were doing all of those side missions? Personally, when I accomplished that fossil hunt mission for the Salarian scientist I was hoping to see them use those beasts on Earth to fight the monsters. When I did all of those Citadel missions to help upgrade the place with turrets and jammers and raised a civilian militia, I was hoping to see everyone helping the soldiers fight off the monsters, with the turrets and jammers playing a big role in their success. I was also hoping to see unplayable characters in action. I wanted to see Miranda with her new group fighting some monsters, Samara and other Justicars tearing a Reaper apart using their powers, Grunt and Wrex stomping on puny husks and blasting Banshees with their shotguns. I wanted to see Jacob leading his own people to protect their families while the Geth and Quarnians use their combined abilities to spot (Geths using their flashlight heads) monster snipers from high places while Turian snipers take them out. What about the mercenary groups that I was able to convince to work for the good of everyone? I wanted to see the mechs causing Reapers trouble by firing missiles into the Reapers' mouths while their ground troops set up mines that cause more Reapers to fall down and become vulnerable. I wanted to see the Elcors use their mounted weapons or cannons while the Asari provide barriers to protect the vulnerable "beast tanks". Even Jessica Chobot can be used in the final moments of the war, she could have been the bringer of good news that's being broadcasted during the war as an embedded reporter. Heck, maybe Jessica Chobot could have given a rousing speech of her own to lift the spirits of the united forces, breaking the rules of journalism because even though she's a reporter, the prevailing truth is "Everyone wants to win this war and we want to fight for our future"."
This is exactly what would have been awesome - being able to see the affects even in some small way of what you had achieved would have been amazing.

Instead - we got saddled with a couple of generic human soldiers running down a hill.

Unfortunately, the press is likely to take the stance that we're just being entitled and are angry for no reason.  And it's pretty tough to convince them otherwise.  Occasionally, you'll get them to hound a dev to step up and do something, but it's not likely.  IGN did keep going after Skyrim for it's atrocious PS3 framerate, and kept it up, so it's not impossible, but unfortunately, members of the press aren't as likely to take such a stance when something isn't objectively bad, like technical bugs.

Problem with Kotaku is half their articles are pure crap and wrong. Most people reading Kotaku knows this, so hopefully it's not that bad. And looking at the comments most disagrees with the article.

that right there, they must be holding on to that ACE of a tear jerker for the true ending once you beat harbinger's mind games. It's all I got to hope for I can really see this series being redeemed if it worked out that way. Don't give in to the indoctrination!

Oh this is funny. IGN has an article about Bioware's stories and Bioware talks about how they spent a bunch of time and money redoing a character from the Legacy DLC for DA2. Now, I have to ask, if they are willing to spend time and money fixing a character that came out all wrong, why can't we get the same for the end of an entire series that came out wrong? People are literally willing to pay extra for this and have also said they won't be buying DLC in light of the ending, so it's not like there isn't financial incentive to try again.
