Origin thread actually went a bit faster, I think.

A lot less people are willing to read the spoilers.

Plus this is much easier to fix then the whole messed up system that is Origin.

I've been trying to get one of my sisters into Mass Effect. Even bought her ME1 and ME2 and have been hounding her to play them. This weekend I had just finished using FRAPS to make a montage movie of some of my favorite moments in ME1 and ME2 to try and convey some of the enjoyment and wonder of the series.

If the "best" ending you can get in ME3 is a stab in the back and urinated on though, then I'll just tell her to forget it and find anything else to do with her time. And sure I was a bit hyperbolic there, but those endings are just unacceptable and I can't view them as anything but deliberate, petty, and spiteful.

I went from agonized anticipation to just plain agonized. I'll still get my CE of ME3, but it feels more like stubborn denial than anything else at this point. I'm not trying to convince anyone of anything and am not interested in debating whatever about this. I saw the Sword and Hammer thread last night and the need to just vent a bit has been building up since then.

I'm holding out hope alpng with you. However, if the lame endings are indeed the case, I will mark ME3 as a epic fail on par with the gitched POS known as skyrim err I mean bugrim.

I've actually been doing the same. I just got her started on Mass Effect 1. She's really into good sci-fi so I figured she'd enjoy it. But I also know how she reacted at the end of Lost (same as my reaction mentioned several pages ago). I'll play through and see how it goes but if it really is as bad as many fear, I'll have to warn her that she may want to stop. We've had enough bad crap happen lately and the last thing she needs is a cool sci-fi story building her up only to tell her there's no point. You're all going to die. Again, IF it does. I'll play through first.

Hilariously enough, if these endings turn out to be a complete hoax Bioware just got schooled in 'How to ****** Your Fanbase Off' 101. Hope they're taking notes.

They should have a book by the time the game comes out

I played the demo and fell in love and bought the first two games, and oh my goodness, I can see why you all love this series! The ending to two had me feeling like such a badass! But after reading this...I think I am going to wait and see what happens. My heart can't take another DA 2. Or if you ask me an ending that is worse.

No offense, but LI's aren't the only thing people play this game for. I didn't invest all this time into ME1 and 2 in order to run into a stone wall at the very end where every single one of the characters we've come to know and love inevitably gets husked or dies, and the civilization we've been fighting to preserve is thoroughly destroyed in a manner of your choosing. It makes all of your actions up to that point effectively meaningless.

I don't have to pay sixty bucks to expose myself to something depressing. I can just turn on the news.

Bingo, there really is no point to a game unless you get something positive out of it. I can be depressed for free. Let me tell you, $60 dollars spent correctly can bring you a lot of happiness.

I should clarify that I'm talking about my sister, not yours. I don't even know your sister! Unless ... WE"RE THE SAME PERSON!!! No. Fairly certain that was just a poorly worded post on my part.

I thought I was mad when that one character is turned into a zombie and dies. Doesn't even touch my anger now.

2 of Bioware's goals:
1- Make Money
2- Create a story that brings out the emotions of it's players
So if you buy the game and you are angry or pleased with any of the endings, guess what...
Mission Accomplished.

Not a good idea to burn a fan base. It will make people wait instead of pre-ordering or it can drive fans away in droves. Both of these = NO money = mad share holders = someone getting fired.

Why can't the ending be like DA:O? I'd rather just have text and images then this which is almost the same as it seems.

Agreed.  Same with getting some action anytime the Commander wants >=)

Lol how about just being able to talk to your Squaddies out side of the ship?

Yeah, definitely.  I would love it if we were able to do that in Mass Effect. =D

Guess who the primary audience for SWTOR is? Come on, guess!

If you chose ME players, you're right!

Guess what happens when you ****** off a lot of hardcore gamers that much?

They quit paying for your games!

Guess what happens when SWTOR can't make sales quotas to make up for the $300 million spent?

A lot of Bioware employees get the boot. Three years later, the studio gets the Pandemic treatment.

Please read my follow ups.  Also, you can probably gather that I just really don't care about the endings either way.  I honestly don't mind those endings.  Do I think they're perfect?  Not really.  I plan to write science-fiction myself, introduce characters I think people will love, and then kill them off.

Honestly, if these endings are real, I would think that Joss Whedon had something to do with it.  Because that's a very, very Joss Whedon sort of thing to do.  Has anyone watched Serenity?  Nothing can top bitter in my mind.  I refuse to believe that film is canon to Firefly.  Ever.  I'll still watch and enjoy Firefly, however.

And unlike some of my favorite shows like Stargate Universe and Stargate Atlantis, I at least get closure with this next Mass Effect installment.

Indie sci-fi and fantasty writers like yourself never get the mainstream treatment, because, guess what? People hate depressing endings. Debate it all you want, but that's the truth.

Same thing with games.

It's a reference to something that happens in ME3.

True.  However, this is in the spoiler section, which may or may not have the same readership as a non-spoiler section.  Secondly, there are some people who are entering a pre-game blackout, or are getting spoiled in other areas and are backing off BSN completely until the game is released.  This thread moves fast, even if it's the same people posting over and over (self-burn is best-burn).

Imagine if the endings are accurate, and people are unspoiled.  I pity anyone here, dev or poster, on March 7 & 8, as people finish their first playthroughs.

O RLY? Will you care about this in two weeks if it turns out that there are "good" endings, or at least different ones? I sure won't. I'll just keep playing ME3 (rather than, you know, selling it to Gamestop like I probably will if the spoilers turn out to be true). I won't be annoyed or upset that they didn't say anything -- I'll just be ecstatic that ME3 was worth it after all.

So I'm staring at my GAME pre-order and can't decide if I should cancel it and set sail on the high seas instead. I just can't support this with my money. I know I'll feel dirty if I pay the £60.
