Tbh, they've said that DA:O would get 2 years of support in form of DLCs/expansions, we only got like 1.
My point is, take everything with a big ass grain of salt.

Mass effect is bigger than DAO, also if they don't intend to make a sequel in this universe, they'll surely make tons of DLC. Though I do hope we get to play in the universe again.

Oh this is funny. IGN has an article about Bioware's stories and Bioware talks about how they spent a bunch of time and money redoing a character from the Legacy DLC for DA2. Now, I have to ask, if they are willing to spend time and money fixing a character that came out all wrong, why can't we get the same for the end of an entire series that came out wrong? People are literally willing to pay extra for this and have also said they won't be buying DLC in light of the ending, so it's not like there isn't financial incentive to try again.

We're willing to pay for it!!! It means money!!! Y u no take my money?!

Ok, I'm done. But seriously, if we're willing to pay for it, it is in their best interest to give us an alternative ending dlc. Also, more people will buy the game AND the dlc. And replay it. And spread the word that Bioware was awesome for listening to us and fixing the problem.

I agree with you. But.... I start to think, what if this entire scandal about the ending was really just a marketing trick which would lure people into buying this additional DLC? You think that it is possible?

As I said earlier: I can imagine EA is going to such lenghts to secure money and did this with Bioware.

Judging by the evidence, it is not completly impossible. I mean, we know that shepard was laying alive on the ground after the citadel thing. It could be possible that everything was just a vision and with the DLC you wake up there and get it sorted out. With a good ending with your LI and so on. It would be an explanation. There is no other explanation to why he would lay there, alive!

Well...space magic.

Hopefully he didn'tmean multiplayer lol. If the first real DLC is multiplayer I'm seriusly gonna go kill something. You don't do multiplayer DLC for a singleplayer game! Atleast not before you fix the ending.

How much money was thrown at them?  Keelah, did they even play the game through the end?  Or did they get a really early version where there was better endings?

so......he's probably talking about mass effect 4, so we will have to wait another 3 years to know how the history ends.

They also said we would be able to "dig deeper and find out what our choices did" and "how could we end up with single bespoke ending that everyone gets"?

Not the most amazingly worded video you'll find on the matter, but I still think it's worthy of a place in this thread simply because it does give a good overall synopsis of the whole dream/indoctrination theory

I have an idea. I'm gonna replay Mass Effect 3 and just die on Tuchanka. That is gonna be epic enough and will make some sense. At least.

Okay then what exactly was he talking about if not dlc? It would be great if he could perhaps elaborate on the meaning of his earlier post, about the hardest every. We just want to know what he meant by that, not what he didn't mean.

Yea, and it'll start where Shepard wakes up and he'll walk even slower so it takes 30 hours to reach Anderson at the console. And then they've added 3 new color endings.

Anyway, time I fly off. Used most day lurking on this thread, then later to join the fight. I hope to see some official statement when I wake up, though I doubt it.

Fight on !

I find it humorous that most people who are defending the ending claim that "sacrifices are necessary and it's a difficult choice." I understand both statements. However the fact of the matter is its not a difficult choice at all as it isn't ours to make. We're shown an ending as opposed to choosing one. Yes, you can say we have three choices but in reality they differ slightly in colour and are all equally dissatisfying. I generally like sad endings, don't get me wrong, but in a game that's main selling point is choice I'd expect an ending to suit most tastes.

I don't understand the gaming community at all. You purchase any other product in the world and you're not completely happy with it you can ring up and say "I'm not particularly satisfied with x or y." They might not fix it but you won't be called a self righteous nerd for it. We voice our opinions about how we are dissatisfied and places like kotaku talk about us as if we're doing something wrong.

I just really don't understand. We're being civil and mannerly, for the most part.

You can make an endless list with problems with the ending. But it wouldn't had hit so hard if there was at least ONE option between the three (Control,Synthesis, Destroy) that didn't result in the destruction of the mass relays. At least if the relays continued existing - the galaxy can reunite and rebuild, your crew isn't doomed to starvation/inbreeding and what you were working towards the entire game (galactic unity) can actually be accomplished.

I just want to reiterate to any Bioware employee reading this thread: you've got me. Your hooks are into me. At this point, I'm invested enough in the series that I would pay the full price of the game for a five minute long DLC that fixes the endings. No joke. I will pay $60 for that.
