From day one we were told that the Reapers were insanely powerful, godlike even, and had existed for millions of years, always succeeding against the galaxy.
It seems fitting that we cant actually beat them in any conventional way, and I like that. The whole Crucible idea seemed very forced to me, it was just too convenient that all the other cycles had worked on it but never succeeded. It just felt weird to me.
So I was happy that it wasnt an "I win button".
I like that we cant "win", I like that there isnt a super happy hollywood ending (although Liara deserves her little blue babies!).
The reasoning for the whole Reaper deal seems pretty well thought out to me, they come to harvest advanced civillizations so they wont ruin the galaxy by making synthetic life they cant control (which seems to be inevitable from what the Catalyst says) and also to make way for the next cycle that might never have had a chance otherwise. And they get to preserve the other civilizations as well, sure its in Reaper form but Shepard him/herself said that if its sentient, its life.
The ending is basically: Damned if you do, Damned if you dont.
I do wish there was some weird way to get a happy ending, as much as I enjoy the dark endings I want a happy available somehow as well. Not by defeating them, since I like that its impossible, but somehow talking the Catalyst into giving us another chance, or something...

Hopefully he didn'tmean multiplayer lol. If the first real DLC is multiplayer I'm seriusly gonna go kill something. You don't do multiplayer DLC for a singleplayer game! Atleast not before you fix the ending.

I want to know what Seth Green (Joker) thinks of all of this. I'm pretty sure he would agree with us if he saw such massive dissatisfaction from us, the customers and players.
You could try asking him on Twitter, but I bet they had him sign a rock solid NDA.

The ending is still completely out of place though, even when I know it's coming I manage to get yanked out of the experience.

We voice our opinions about how we are dissatisfied and places like kotaku talk about us as if we're doing something wrong.
I just really don't understand. We're being civil and mannerly, for the most part.
It's puzzling to me, too. People return books because they don't like the content. They **** at the authors. (Trust me; I know. I get the mail, along with the lovely letters.) And I take it, as part of my job. I don't get any sympathetic write ups over it. So how is this different?

I just want to reiterate to any Bioware employee reading this thread: you've got me. Your hooks are into me. At this point, I'm invested enough in the series that I would pay the full price of the game for a five minute long DLC that fixes the endings. No joke. I will pay $60 for that.

A little note... First DLC will be a multiplayer map pack that's called Resurgence, I'm told.
First DLC is MP content. :|

Yes, mail letters, folks. If you take the time to put something to paper and pay for it to be sent, it only conveys you're serious about your opinions.

Ah, I thought there might be a specific PO box they ask people to send this sort of thing to. Thanks, though!

Oh this is funny. IGN has an article about Bioware's stories and Bioware talks about how they spent a bunch of time and money redoing a character from the Legacy DLC for DA2. Now, I have to ask, if they are willing to spend time and money fixing a character that came out all wrong, why can't we get the same for the end of an entire series that came out wrong? People are literally willing to pay extra for this and have also said they won't be buying DLC in light of the ending, so it's not like there isn't financial incentive to try again.
We're willing to pay for it!!! It means money!!! Y u no take my money?!
Ok, I'm done. But seriously, if we're willing to pay for it, it is in their best interest to give us an alternative ending dlc. Also, more people will buy the game AND the dlc. And replay it. And spread the word that Bioware was awesome for listening to us and fixing the problem.
I agree with you. But.... I start to think, what if this entire scandal about the ending was really just a marketing trick which would lure people into buying this additional DLC? You think that it is possible?
That's my opinion. The EA overlords are totally capable of that.

Anyone who claims that something is inherently more mature because it is darker and sadder demonstrates, buy that position, that they are lacking a certain amount of maturity, because they apparently think that life is a sad, depressing place. This is not a mature attitude, this is the attitude of someone who is unable to cope with the world because they have not gained the maturity to comprehend that while bad things happen, good things happen too.
The strangest thing is that the people claiming that the current ending is 'mature' also decry the idea that the Crucible just turning out to be a big gun is somehow immature, while defending blatant space-magic that currently occupies the ending.
