The sad thing is, I'm hoping for it to be an elaborate, dirty marketing scheme at this point.. it's better than it not. It's better than having this as the final ending to Mass Effect...

Know what? I hope so, too. I would really like EA/Bioware to be trying to get more money out of me for a DLC that fixes this. Because, boy, they are going to get that money.

It's a plot, it's incredibly clever, and it'll pay off in the end. Think about it, they test this method on the most anticipated game of the year, a game that is CERTAIN to generate interest in DLCs. If this works out here, they'll do it for other games. Game over for us gamers, for 60 bucks, you now get a demo, if you like it, you pay and get more. That's how it'll be from now on..

That's the thing about emotional blackmail - it works. It works so well that I want to be blackmailed, here. Even if it isn't true (and I suspect not), I want it.

How messed up is that?

This endings... It is a joke, right?
I've just finished a game and I'm stunned. What is the purpose of this game if my every decision is ending bad?

Indeed we have all reached an identical consensus, its not just a couple of us that can be written off. Almost Everyone finishing up the game including all my friends feel the same way. I can't see how they cannot make this right after the outraged expressed here. I beat it the second day after release i had PTSD no joke. I am feeling a lot better that everyone is uniting to tell bioware to explain themselves.

EA are the true Reapers. They indoctrinate and harvest the best gaming companies, to make room for less successful game companies to flourish.

More likely the 19,000 posts here represent a tiny minority of people. I'm sure the 3-5 people posting who try to defend the ending in any capicity really represent the vast majority of gamers. After all, it's not like most posts in this thread are heartfelt pleas from longtime Bioware fans, we're all just braindead trolls trying to get a reaction because we're not mature enough to understand the beauty of an inconclusive plot-hole-ridden finale that leaves the player with a sense of emptiness and dread.
Duh.

Agreed. I just don't get this. The endings seem so COMPLETELY out of place. Like an entire different company took over. Either that or 1) Bioware is gonna milk us for DLC, which being partnered with EA is completely believable. Or 2) they knew what they were doing and wanted to kill off ME3. Maybe they found something else to focus on or they just don't want to do ME anymore.

Couldn't agree more. Such a disappointment. Had to register to voice my discontent!

I would encourage everyone to actually write a letter and send it to Bioware. Showing them you care enough to take the time (and money) to send them a physical message will only add to our message, not detract.

whats the address I'll do it but I think I need to finnish the game first

I wish instead of godkid we could have spoken to harbinger. I would have preferred that a million times over. I was let down that we didn't get to talk to a reaper.

My ending left me alive. After my credits though you see a man talking to his grandson which it seemed that he was telling the story about shepard from mass effect 1-3.

there are other ways to end a story there is no need for this ending and as a result whatever this new thing is I'm not going to buy it.

That's not good! Just look at what "unity" did for the council species! Now they all have to die together in the Sol System... IF the explosion of the mass relay didn't killed them all.

:(

That's not true. Most of us are mature enough to understand if presented with an explanation that makes sense, even if it's an evil one like it was planned that way from day 1 to make us spend more money.

I think the only reason I might replay is to save Kelly, since for some reason even with ~6k ECR I cannot get the 'sheppard lives' cinematic thingy in the rubble. I'll probably just tab out for the cinematics and such though since I can't even skip them like they allowed you to in ME2...

God, even saying this is making me start to feel like I might be taking this just a wee bit too seriously.

But I remember all the different campaigns for television shows, where lots of folks mailed in stuff to the offices of the network to show their support for renewing the show or something of that nature.

And it actually worked in the case of Jericho, which got a renewal when fans sent in a bunch of nuts to CBS headquarters.

Wonder if something similar could be done here.
