That's not good! Just look at what "unity" did for the council species! Now they all have to die together in the Sol System... IF the explosion of the mass relay didn't killed them all.

Please stop saying you have ptsd from this. I do have ptsd and I guarantee you dont.
It demeans what my brothers have sacrificed in combat to even compare PTSD and the sadness aof this plot so please stop
No no no, you misunderstand. They're not saying THEY have PTSD. Not the players. They're saying that they think the ending is Shepard dealing with PTSD. A hallucination brought on by trauma from losing so many people and then being bashed in the face with a Reaper laser.

After thinking about and going over it, it is the only thing that has any sort of logic behind it. The only problem with this is that we would have to pay for the final part of the story.

******Harry Potter/Deathly Hallows Spoilers******
Imagine if Deathly Hallows had ended with Voldemort killing Harry when he faced him in the Forbidden Forest. Boom that's it. Maybe we get a little one page epilogue where some old guy is telling his kid how Harry defeated Voldemort far in the future but that's it. Sure, you had a choice to go after the Elder Wand or the Horcruxes first but apparently that choice was largely academic. Maybe by being nice to the Centuars and House Elves, or engaging in Wizards at War we get to see Harry's eyes open in Hagrid's arms but that's it, we don't even know what this means. Imagine how disappointing this would have been. The last two chapters are missing, along with the epilogue proper.
Worse still, we're missing the flashback sequence with Snape - you know, the one that ties the ending into the rest of the series. Instead, in this version, Harry goes to the clearing, possibly seeing the memories of his parents/Sirius/Lupin if he happened to make enough paragon choices during the course of the game to end up with the Resurrection Stone, to an uncertain fate. There, Voldemort informs him he will die, possibly with the Horcruxes destroyed, possibly not (meaning he's likely to return at a some later point), but we as the audience won't be seeing anything after that anyway so what's it to us?
Then he lets us choose what color spell he uses to kill us.
Cut to Ron and Hermione whizing through the Flu Network or blasting through apparition space.
And then magic never works again.
The End.

You'd better bet people would be up in arms about that.

I read a review of ME3 in the review section of a newspaper in the UK today, which rightly said that the ME3 trilogy is right up there with the original Star Wars trilogy. And it truly is.
Therefore it is pretty sad that I have to turn it off before the end and imagine my own ending, but I will because I refuse to let such mind-blowingly s**t endings ruin this franchise for me. I also don't think they will ever make a DLC to fix it so this is my only avenue.
So now I still get to enjoy the game! Problem solved!

Okay, I've basically been of the opinion that Bioware can do no wrong ever since I first played Dragon Age: Origins. I've loved story-based games for as long as I can remember and I think Bioware perfected the craft, more or less. The endings for ME3 throws that whole view away by making the story to that point not matter in the slightest.
In most Bioware games of this caliber your story choces make ALL the difference. Just think of the epilogues at the end of DA: Origins! I replayed many times so I could get everything just right, and was rewarded for my effort. ME:3 Gives you 3 options with next to no variables attached to them, and that's just not acceptable.
I've learned from some research that Drew Karpyshyn was replaced in development and a new writer did away with an ending involving the "Dark Energy" that was briefly mentioned in ME2, and had little to do with the synthetic/organic conflict reasons that were given in the finished product, which I felt was rendered invalid if you brokered a peace between the Geth and Quarians, anyway. If I had to point at a single person being responsible for making Mass Effect what it is, or rather, was, it would be Drew Karpyshyn, and I'll always be grateful to him for creating such a rich and interesting setting. I think it was his loss on this project that ultimately did the most damage, and Bioware's higher-ups second guessing his original intentions for the story after the ending script was leaked.
Bioware's has a history of welcoming input from the fans, and I have to hope that the overwhelming negativity created by these endings will lead to some kind of solution, be it DLC, a "director's cut," or something else. This franchise is too important to too many people for it to end like this, and from a sheer business standpoint, it ruins the possibility of future book titles by making stories taking place chronologically after ME3 unlikely at best.
I'd be grateful if any Bioware employees would read this. You don't necessarily need to respond, but I think this is a serious problem, and I'm genuinely unsure of how loyal a customer I'm going to be in the future because of it.

Fiction is not the same thing as real life - it is fiction. We don't expect the same things from it that we expect from real life. If we're given a Commander Shepard who is presented as a heroic figure who literally overcomes every single obstacle placed in his path (up until the ending), it is not only reasonable to expect him to overcome the final hurdle, but it's more reasonable than expecting him to fail. It's an agreement between the author of a fictional work and its observer, that they will present us with all the information we need to interpret the universe correctly, or else they've failed in their role. If a situation like this arises, where it becomes apparent that this understanding has severely broken down, it indictes a failing on the part of the author. Now, turning a world on its head might actually be deliberate/appropriate in some types of works, but let's not kid ourselves - this is a video game, and a video game that gave every indication of being a story about Big Damn Heroes. This idea wasn't some sort of secret, it was encouraged and supported since the beginning by Bioware. If the writers of this game intended it to be something else, they should've indicated as much and allowed people the courtesy of choosing whether they wanted to participate in a philosophical experiment.
As it stands, there was absolutely no reason not to expect the possibility of a happy, successful, overly optimistic, unreasonably positive outcome. That's what Big Damn Heroes are for. It's what escapist fiction is for. And nobody, nobody should be ashamed of wanting it.

Amen!!! How about Liara returns to being shadow broker, and if she finds out that someone needs their A** kicked, she calls over her hubby, shows them the info, he calls up Ash, Wrex, Garrus or whoever isn't too busy bowling that night, and they go off take care of it and back for dinner that night. lol
