So we can't get the ending we want after all?

Bioware united Xbox, PS3, and PC players so that they can, collectively, hate Bioware. I seem to remember a game that required uniting different groups to fight one common enemy...I think it was called something like Mass Effect 3

Best parody ever on the bad ending:
.. Never have I identified so much with Hitler. Or seen a "Hitler finds out..." video that was more appropriate.
That's exactly how I feel now.
Brilliant - exactly how i am feeling!

I remember Mass Effect, I remember long hours of playing, managing inventory and generally having the time of my teenage life. I remember Mass Effect, an incredible story, wonderful characters and so much EVERYTHING. I remember Mass Effect.
I remember Mass Effect 2. Long hours in the barracks with my roommate, racing to see who could get the perfect ending achievement with no man left behind. Running back to my room during afternoon chow to squeeze in a couple more minutes of play. Not just to beat my roomie (which I did) but because I wanted more. I happily bought most of the DLC because I wanted more. I wanted to play more, hear more, enjoy more.
My story isn't any different then any one else on this site, we're mostly long time fans, been playing for half a decade. I've been a Bioware supporter since I got my grubby little paws on the first KOTOR game. That's what makes this hurt so much more. We're the fans, we like you guys (the devs) in many cases we want you to keep making games, and we want to keep buying them from you.
I'm not angry, I'm just hurt. These disjointed, disconnected, unfullfilling, nonsensical endings are complete 180 from everything that the game's established, everything we've all worked for five years in playing, hearing and living the story of Commander Shepherd and his valiant little crew.
Please... just make this right... please. I shouldn't finish a game and want to sit down and write an epilogue to explain it all to myself, to make the investment feel better, to make myself feel better... I just shouldn't.
but I did and I did.... so I guess that's that.
In case any one wants my take on what happens post game for a male paragon shep with max assets who destroys the Reapers you can enjoy my particular rose garden here: https://docs.google....VRn0jlwAFQ/edit
If you won't give me content I'll make my own and it breaks my hear t that I have to.

You're looking at a guy who liked the rebooted Prince of Persia ending. I liked the Anders storyline and the ending of DA2. I'm down with challenging endings.
I still think the endings of ME3 sucked. Especially in contrast with all the awesomesauce ladled on before that. 30 hours of emotionally hard-hitting gameplay followed by a slapped-on afterthought ending that takes away everything you've worked for and introduces huge new plot questions without resolving them.
Come on, guys. What the hell was that?

I dont think what happens after shep get fried is to be considered a dream. Why? Because I think its a lack of attention to detail combined with a disconnection between the writers and the fans.
I could go into my theory of No Investment no Connection (NIC, working title) which to sum it up is about professionalism killing the connection and emotional investment you get out of something as fan, if your interested in reading my entier theory say so and Ill post it tomorrow, its a working theory I have been working on for the past 15 months or so.
But I wont go into that now unless someone shows interest, what I will say tho is that I believe the endings and the confusion people are having is about the game being in the end of the development cycle and the devs are tired and dont show as much attention to detail, as in Shepard lying in rubble instead of floating in space.
And the reason the writers thought the ending was good and tought nothing more about it is due to NIC, which in short means that they as writers have forgotten and dont feel the same investment and connection to the characters and universe as we do, thus making them unable to understand how we would like the story to be concluded, Im sure that in there minds this ending is the correct one and they dont see why we dont think so.

What I would like to know is how many of the people who bought it in those figures have actually finished the game? Without knowing that those numbers are moot. Of course it's going to sell good in the beginning, the first two were great. It's ridiculous to use that 'they're selling good' somehow proves us wrong.
Please tell me this pisses someone else off too.

I cna't even figure out how to get to NG+ =.= There is no option for it. And if I try to start a new game, it won't let me import my ME3 character. WTF?
... Uh, can anyone confirm that, and also, what platform? I was reasonably sure that people have already started on NG+, if not completed.

Perhaps. But how do you explain the content that was included and then taken out at the last second? Like Shepard's final conversation with Anderson. Or Joker flying in to save the day. You can still find the sound data on the discs, even though it's not actually in the game. It was removed from the story at the last second before release.

It certainly makes me upset. Don't listen to them though, they are obviously wrong but just too short-sighted to see it. This fourm and poll proves that there are many upset fans. Then again some may like the game's ending and that is fine but my problem with that is that some of them feel the need to prove us wrong for no reason.

It's Bioware's fault that we are stressed out by something that was meant for FUN in the first place. If we had more options on the ending I doubt people would be stressed. That doesn't mean she has issues or needs help.

Right down to the fact that the fans have commandeered ME3's own terminology and marketing taglines to use against them.
