No , people wondering whether they will be satisfied with the ending of an investment in time and money, the only kid i see here is the one who has to curse and beliitle folks for speaking thier minds. Go to bed , and dream about how you control everyone in the entire world, and everyone thinks, acts, and feels as you do.

I think stranding shep and crew on an uninhabited planet is extreme, but makes sense that to be free of a the reapers, they have to break the chains (most of the ways the races are technologically powerful was due to Reaper tech) humans and other races paid the price for advancement by the "Reaping". They decide no Reaping, no tech. Fair trade.... But still total isolation is a bit far

Hey, I LOVE your scenario.  If Shep and the crew were stranded someplace together, I would be all for it.  But... nope, Shepard is either dead or far, far away from the rest of the crew.

So I'm staring at my GAME pre-order and can't decide if I should cancel it and set sail on the high seas instead. I just can't support this with my money. I know I'll feel dirty if I pay the £60.

Go ahead and cancel. It's not like hearsay can be false, right?

It doesn't matter if he cancels. It's one gun.

Plus, in 2 weeks, it will be under $30.

Well that is just patently false. Say what you will about the game, its still going to sell well enough that the pre-owned price is going to stay above $50 for quite some time.

Right, because games that have zero replayability and ****** off their fans sure sell like hotcakes! And no one will be looking to trade in!

Think rational. They finish, they trade in immediately.

Replayability occurs after the sale. Tons of people are going to complete the sale. Most of the people whining here will be playing next Tuesday. The transactions will be made. After that, whatever people think of the game doesn't matter. Fan rage doesn't affect pre-owned prices, the rate at which people are buying the game new does, and to suggest that this game isn't going to sell is tantamount to suggesting that unicorns are real.

There's a difference between a "childish wish fulfillment ****** fantasy" ending, a bittersweet ending, and a pointless ending. Pity that Bioware seems to like the third option most.

Hell, if this rumor turns out to be true, then letting the Reapers win is the best solution, which is interesting philosophically, but silly as far as the game's narrative is concerned.

But it isn't "Shep and crew" it's just the crew, leaving Shep to never see them again. I would've been fine with anything so long as you stayed with the crew. Anything.

Im sure the ending is going to be similar to the end of the Princess Bride. Some grandfather (human) reading a story about the all mighty Shepard to his grandson. The last lines would be....

Kid: That was a great story grandpa...even though there was kissing in it. Can you read it to me some other time

Grandfather: As you wish......

Truthfully. My crew and my Shepard are the same now.

Okay, BSN. Long time listener, first time caller.

I'm not sure what to think. Part of me wants to think that this is the most epic troll in the world, and someone decided that it would be hilarious to just post a bunch of info out of context. I, honestly, would have done that because I'm a sick bastard.

On the other hand, I realize that the bulk of the writing for this franchise is very well done. And maybe the journey will be worth the ending... if that makes any sense.

Like a lot of people here, I'd like to at least see my Shepard go on to live with his/her LI, perhaps even in a broken world with no sunset to run into.

I would take that in a heartbeat. But they won't even give us that.

That's quite a "I give the hell up" and *le sigh* type of reply. With all due respect (aka kiss my ass... I say that in good humor), that sounds like the children I get paid to watch.

"Well, even if I ask, the answer is no! Because I'm angry and I'm convinced that I won't get what I want!"

Anyone remember the Tom Morello leaks during Halo? Yeah, he "leaked" fake plot points for Halo 3 and Bungie's forums exploded. Even I was convinced and ended up making a phone call to one of their writers... I didn't get a straight answer, becasue that writer knew how to keep an NDA.

ANYWAYS... Yeah. I'm not sure where I wanted to go after that.

Maybe in your universe 2 million in sales is good. Maybe even 3.

Let me tell you, 3 million in sales would kill Bioware. Based off of a basic linear regression of similar Bioware games factoring time into account and assuming that the fan reaction will be as bad as it seems to be is evident of this.

Cute, you're a babysiter. Pardon me if I couldn't care less about what you think about my reaction. This isn't the same; this is the real deal, not a plot leaked by a single person.

I'm sure there was a tweet saying that there would be golden happy ending? Or was I imagining things?

It justs seems if they dont want to continue Shepards story just dont? You dont need to kill or strand him/her in that least ONE of the endings. Are they worried about there own lack of self-restraint?

Erm... ok.  But if that's the best way to end it in your opinion, then you're welcome to choose that ending.  What people are upset about is the lack of choice when it comes to the fates of the characters we've all grown to know and love.

Imagining things. However, no one really expected more than one ending to be like this.

The problem with that train of thought is that the info is coming from the space editions of ME3. So, unless BW intentionally gave out incomplete copies of the game...

Don't get me wrong, I would LOVE for these leaks to be false/incomplete, but that is looking less and less likely as more evidence pops up (such as the screenshots from tonight).

As you can see, I've underlined the issue here.
This entire franchise is a bunch of "IMO"s and headcanons. Forcing a certain spectrum of endings destroys that foundation.

As much as I like Bioware and the Mass Effect series, I won't be returning to this site. So many of you are so pessimistic, it's downright stupid. "Oh no, I read a rumor on the internet. Why Bioware? Why? I'm canceling my preorder."

I sorta get what he's saying, but I disagree with it. There's certainly something to be said for innovation and breaking of formula, but its not what I want from this game. If you want something stylistically ambitious and depressing, there are numerous beautiful indy games to play. Bioware games, to me, are the gaming equivalent of comfort food. I want to ride off into the sunset with my love interest and my homies, satisfied by a job well done. If I want a game to challenge me on an intellectual level, I look for it somewhere else. Bioware is supposed to be my summer blockbuster.

Very well said...

Indeed.  I play games to escape the hardship and difficulty of real life (laid off and vision impaired is depressing enough, I don't need my games adding to that depression thank you very much).  I would like to defeat the Reapers, honor the dead, rebuild and yet have a feeling of victory and hope... not stranded on some world isolated till my dying day....

If that is indeed the "best" ending then BW will indeed have a fanbase nerdraging the likes of which will make DA2 (which I enjoyed but many had serious issues with) seem like a cakewalk by comparison.
