Fine by me.

Time to cancel my SWTOR and drop Bio(Crap) like all the other studios that told their fanbase to F-off.

well ending my sum on monday

I guess you have a point - stopping my SWTOR subS and placing the reason as "BioWare ****Ed up Mass Effect 3, want nothing more to do with them." is a strong way to send a message. Especially since as a PC gamer, I can't really go and sell my copy back to Gamestop.

At this point, I am heavily dissapointed. ): It even makes me regret having Origin's client, because now the MAss Effect 3 Digital Delux Edition picture is like a slap in the face.

if you are willing to do that then pleses do it we need to send a strong MSG

Gotta say, I have been incredibly impressed by the quality, the coherence, and the variety of viewpoints being expressed in this thread. We need to ensure that continues. We have to remember that we have the best possible chance of being heard and respected if we conduct ourselves in a calm, respectful manner. Otherwise, we can be written off as a bunch of entitled, raving loons. So keep it up guys, gals, krogans, etc.!

How do you know that? If you choose green ending you become half machine and if you have gotten alot of WA the earth is somewhat saved. With you new abilitys perhaps you can build new and better ships that can overcome what you just wrote. Even in the other endings that is possible. And normandys crew couild have repaired the ship and been able to fly to another planet with life on it.
If you now saying that the last scene with the old man and child say oterwise. How do you know that? Maybe it's only a grandfather and his grandson/daughter(?) talking about what the child want to do in the future. Maybe there already is possible to fly to the stars, but not for a young child.
Nevermind all... I liked it and that I will stand for. Just a more detailed epiloge would have been nice.

Because the sole reason for the reapers to spare organics is the destruction of the Mass Relays, with them still intact war is inevitable. This is what the space boy is telling you. Now he would not say that if you could just rebuild the Mass Relays in a few years - also, without the Mass Relays, there are probably not enough resources left in your galaxy to build this thing. And without a Mass Relay in your system, others can't bring the resources to you even if they already build another Mass Relay.

I "know" that because this is the inevitable conclusion to what you did with the galaxy (except the Normandy team part). If this does NOT happen, the kids argument would be invalid.

And, I just altered my review on Raptr. I know it's not meaningful, but most "educated" gamers look at fellow gamer reviews.

For anyone coming in here and doesn't get it.

I'm (and I think 'we') are fine with the endings IF AND ONLY IF we had an PITA-to-do-ending (not hard just involved) that allowed us to:

Save Earth
Destroy Reapers
Unite Galaxy
Save Relays
Save Normandy & its crew
LIVE OUT THE REST OF OUR DAYS WITH OUR LOVE INTEREST

But instead we get a "boom-head-shot-from-the-hip-from-2kilometers" ending

I almost feel bad for him.  Don't really know who he is, this is the most I've posted on a sight about anything ever.  When I feel bad for him I realize don't know what he's talking about.  Is it because he truly feels our pain or because he is a go between for higher ups?  And speaking of which, how do we get to them?  I'm assuming the producers get the final say so ultimately the way the cutscenes are and the dialog used is on them.

I feel rather bad for him...  THere's probably a fair number of staff on the Bioware team that put their friggan' souls into this...  To see this happening is probably one of the worst things that can happen to a game team.

That being said, at least it means they're watching...  I hope.

I feel bad for the dude.  I suspect it was a management decision made with thought for the contract and/or time delay penalties to cut corners instead of delay the game to flesh out the final stuff.. I can almost guarantee the game was under a tight deadline.. there seems to be nothing of a backstory for the citadel kid, so unless it turns out you're a reaper indoctrination moment, a near death, seeing the kid who died back on earth as the catalyst concussion hallucination (which would be my best hope.. have your love interest rouse you back to consciousness or something), or something else entirely I'm sad to say it looks like they just ran out of time and should own up to that and release it either as a DLC, a title update (hard to do on the 360 since those are limited to 5mb), or a marketplace free content pack (least likely as I think these cost a fortune to get from Microsoft) and they're not going to do it only for PC and not 360.  I really really hope I'm wrong, and if I am I'll gladly spread the word through FB/wherever else anyone cares to listen.  I just have seen it far too often.

This game seriously is amazing up to the end.. the sheer amount of consequence to my every choice blew me away.. when Tessia fell I seriously felt like Sheppard did, which is the first time I've ever had that happen to me in a game.. I was mad, I would have seriously had trouble not Renegade triggering it if I had something to "Order Asari to blow Cerberus craft to kingdom come" haha.  You don't throw that away in the last 10 minutes unless you reach the end of what you can do in the time aloted.. I suspect they worked 18 hour days up until the last minute and couldn't finish things.. this was probably decided a few weeks before deadline for new content.  I really hope I'm wrong, I understand it.. I'm disappointed.. I'm honestly hoping that Bioware will see how hurt the community is, how upset, and put out an update for it, chalk it up as a PR budget or something.

It's frustrating some of the outside BSN articles I'm reading. It's like Bioware is only responding the day-one DLC, of which I had no idea and don't care. It kind of sucks that it was released on the same day but we all were hoping and expecting more DLC. What's frustrating me is that's ALL they're resopnding too. Nothing at all about the endings, like they're purposely trying to redirect the discontent. And I don't want to hear from anyone but the producers, they are in charge they direct how things go and the mood for the game and the staff creating it. Either everyone brainstorm and pitch in (paragon) or we do this my way end of story Image IPB (renegade)

EDIT:  At least I think it's the producers right?Image IPB

A game is six gigs about right? I would seriously take a 1 or 2 gig DLC even if it only fixes the final cutscene...A kick in the balls isn't a strong enough metaphor, my soul hurts...I made this account just to say that... I mean seriously...I get the whole horribly dark ending but at least explain what happened...I had 7000 some assets and yet my whole Hammer team still gets wiped out like nothing? In the space cutscene it looked like we were kicking ass, then all of a sudden we fall apart like Notre Dame in the second half...Plus I would like to actually see some of the assets I spent all of that time recruiting. Or have the motives of the Reapers actually make sense...or not have my worldbeating badass special ops sniper get lectured by some **** star child with a god complex. Or picking the color of light that does the same thing to everyone, but has different meanings that override every decision you ever made, and didn't star child notice there are 2 very powerful synthetic forces fighting WITH the organics?(EDI/Geth). I only get this pissed because I like the games, someone dropped the ball in the end and the Buzz Aldrin thing literally did nothing for me. If my Shepard is alive his legacy is CLEARLY not complete yet...but whatever EA has their money and I don't think they care, unless they profit off our misery...looks like I'm not buying NHL 12 like I planned, I blame EA more than Bioware. I know these guys care about the art they made but I just don't know how they let this happen.

Exactly.  By no means did we (Or at least a large portion of us, correct me if I'm wrong.) ever want to convey that the game was bad, far from it!

We're just really dissapointed by the...  Sudden and rather abrupt lack of clarity and regard for canon.  I am at least.

And I agree.  If they release some sort of statement, a hint of an ending to come... Or something, I'd gladly spread the news.

It might not be enough for everyone...  But it'd be the hope a lot of us might need.

When I went to bed last night, there were only about 695 or so pages on this thread. 24 hours later, I find that there's nearly 100 more. That's pretty encouraging.

Good job, everyone, and keep it up. Hopefully, BioWare will listen and react positively in the form of some fix for this ending because I think most of us would agree that Mass Effect 3 was a masterpiece until its inconclusive end.

No way in hell am I reading all this topic, but even if BioWare did a happy ending DLC, it would be a long time before it's done. They would be starting from scratch on it because they never expected this over-the-top reaction from fans. Everybody wants their new ending and they want it right now, but that is unrealistic at best.

- Despite everybody thinking BioWare doesn't care or that they hate us (which most certainly isn't true), they've seen this topic and other feedback and are having meetings to decide what to do. Those calling for civility are absolutely right. That is the only way we'll be taken seriously. Yes, I still consider myself a part of the fanbase and I would buy that DLC, if it get's made.

Instead of Kataku's BS.

and a quote from that article:

Honestly, ask yourself. What were you expecting when you were doing all of those side missions? Personally, when I accomplished that fossil hunt mission for the Salarian scientist I was hoping to see them use those beasts on Earth to fight the monsters. When I did all of those Citadel missions to help upgrade the place with turrets and jammers and raised a civilian militia, I was hoping to see everyone helping the soldiers fight off the monsters, with the turrets and jammers playing a big role in their success. I was also hoping to see unplayable characters in action. I wanted to see Miranda with her new group fighting some monsters, Samara and other Justicars tearing a Reaper apart using their powers, Grunt and Wrex stomping on puny husks and blasting Banshees with their shotguns. I wanted to see Jacob leading his own people to protect their families while the Geth and Quarnians use their combined abilities to spot (Geths using their flashlight heads) monster snipers from high places while Turian snipers take them out. What about the mercenary groups that I was able to convince to work for the good of everyone? I wanted to see the mechs causing Reapers trouble by firing missiles into the Reapers' mouths while their ground troops set up mines that cause more Reapers to fall down and become vulnerable. I wanted to see the Elcors use their mounted weapons or cannons while the Asari provide barriers to protect the vulnerable "beast tanks". Even Jessica Chobot can be used in the final moments of the war, she could have been the bringer of good news that's being broadcasted during the war as an embedded reporter. Heck, maybe Jessica Chobot could have given a rousing speech of her own to lift the spirits of the united forces, breaking the rules of journalism because even though she's a reporter, the prevailing truth is "Everyone wants to win this war and we want to fight for our future".

That's exactly what I've been waiting for.

I've said this before, but that was about 100 pages ago or so at this point, so I'll repeat it.

The game has been out less than a week in America, and only a couple days in Europe. On top of that, it's currently the weekend. Be patient. Now that the weekend is nearly over, and quite a few more people have finished the game and experienced what the rest of us have, Bioware will have more of a sample to base their response off of. Chris Priestly has tweeted about reading what is being said on BSN, and how it has made him feel. Give the rest of Bioware time to compose their response.

Our cause is growing faster than ever, going from just a few hundred votes a day to a few thousand in http://social.biowar...06/polls/28989/. Since I went to bed last night at 3:30am(after the time change), this thread has grown 70+ pages, and it is now 11:17pm. The Fleets are growing, and we will continue to do so.

Be patient.

Anyone struck by how eerily similar this situation is to KOTOR 2? The ending of that game was almost entirely unexplained in the vanilla version. It was only until dedicated fans set to work rebuilding what had been cut because of time constraints that the game became complete..

Yes the similarity is so obvious, that I'm really puzzled as to why more people haven't brought this up before.

On the other hand, the problem with KOTOR2 was that Lucasarts just forced Obsidian to release an unfinished game. With ME3, we've had a 6-month extension of the release date...

I think that in regards to Mike Gambles comments on From Ashes that he was refering to the time during the polishing process when a small team worked on From Ashes.... I don't think he's talking about adding content post ME3, since any DLC would indeed be added content.

"At this point, our goal is to polish the game to an extremely high quality – not to add extra content. You hopefully see a lot of that polish in ME3. "

I think he's talking past, not future since we "hopefully see a lot of that polish in ME3."

Cheers. McBeath.
