when i beat it, i just stared in disbelief. it sent me back to the galaxy map in the normandy. i then just put down my controller and turned off my tv and went to work. 4 days later i turn my tv on for the first time and realize that im still at the galaxy map....-_______-

As much as I hate the ending i really really really think some of you are getting your hopes up way too much for a "fix" DLC. Its not going to happen. What you need to do is let the pain subside, then after time when you finally play Mass Effect 3 again, just turn it off right after the Anderson-Shepard conversation and in your head imagine what happens after. Really that is the only option, an actual fix isnt going to happen. In the history of video gaming there is ONE example of an ending being changed, the odds simply show this isnt a large possibility.

Wait a sec, I'm I hearing this right? You guys are actually willing to shell out more money just to get Bioware to fix this godforsaken mess of an ending? Are you really willing to financially reward them for messing it up the first time round?

Yes. Whatever "pride" I might damage by doing so, I love this series far too much to compromise a chance to end it on a good note.

Very much this. I mean I would love for the DLC to be free and a 'sign of good faith' from Bioware but I just don't see EA allowing that and I'm not sure Bioware would do it anyway. I suppose we'll see if anything comes of this at all and if they'll charge us or not but even if I did buy the DLC it would be to resolve ME3, and any further purchases DLC or otherwise would go under some serious consideration considering the fiasco before us.

Same. In a perfect world the endings would've been everything we'd hoped for. In a slightly less perfect but still pretty good world the endings would be fixed via free DLC. But let's be realistic here, game development is expensive and if we're ever going to see a satisfying ending then we're probably going to have to pay for it. I won't enjoy doing it but I will.

I swallowed my pride and went in and played MP for two days to get my Galactic Readiness to 100%, and got my EMS and TMS above 6k, just to see if there was a change. The only change was that Cortez didn't die this time... and that was only because I went and talked to him on the Citadel. A small, meaningless change once you realize the end kills every thing you do in the whole series...

I read a quote on some girl's jacket when I was on the subway last night and it made me think if this is something BW was thinking when they designed the ending:

"If you can't dazzle them with brilliance, baffle them with bull****."

I, for one, was quite baffled.

Agreed. I would pay for it - as long as it's not an exorbinant amount - but next time a Bioware game is released I am going to seriously consider before puchasing again. If it's free, well, I'll be more than happy to put this whole mess behind us.

In a word?  Yes.  At the end of the day, I understand that Bioware is a business and will have to make their decisions accordingly.  Frankly, given the amount of time I've put into this series, throwing the cost of a couple cheeseburgers at a piece of DLC is trivial.

Agreed. I'm enough invested emotionally in the series that I'd pay the price of a full game for DLC that fixes this.

I plan on making it the last purchase I ever make from Bioware if they charge us for it. They can have my money, but they won't be seeing any more of it after that.

To the discussion about DLC:

As much as we all crave and want a continuation of the ending, you guys have to remember that we're demanding a game update. As an example: Broken Steel didn't come out until about 6 1/2 months after Fallout 3 was released.

Patience is virtue, my friends. BioWare will hear our voices. Mass Effect will have its true ending soon.

We aren't asking for it to be released tomorrow, we're asking for some sort of response or acknowledgement. Even if Bioware just told me that within the next year they'd release better endings I'd already be able to enjoy the series again in anticipation. It's this feeling of not being heard, of hopelessness, that's the hardest.

QFT - any statement like that would give me back the hope the ending crushed, and I might be able to play again knowing better, satisfying,  and MORE endings were on the way.

I'm with Jack on this one.

Thanks to the ME3 endings ruining the franchise, I've got to get the N7 tattoo on my ass removed.

Wonderful.

i was determinded that i was going to make another playthrough of ME1 tonight (well start it at least)

i quickly found out that i had no control over my body and i could not build up the will power to go over to my xbox and put it in....

Same. Knowing that at the end of the triology your choices don't make a difference really kills it

Oh my. I'm going to interpret that as a joke.

On a related topic, a while back I was heavily considering getting an N7 tattoo on my arm. Decided to get a variation of the nVidia logo instead.

Bullet. Dodged.

Screwed up ending. Everything goes to **** no matter what..

"Take back earth" "We need to get back to earth" and so on..Didn't matter squat! In the end it was just a coincidence the reapers tok the citadel to earth. What if they dragged it to Thessia? z.z

The game lost it's focus haaaard in the end.

Earth could still make sense if Harbinger and his interest in Shepard and human biotics had been played up more (even if that was due to ME2's references to 3's original plot.) That doesn't even really need a verbose explanation in my opinion because it's a satisfying variable.

Yes. That is how badly I want Shepard's story to have a proper ending. I'd pay for a DLC, expansion pack, heck I'd even buy another $80 game. At this point I don't care about the principle of it, I just want to stop feeling so depressed.

I just finished the ending with higher scores... Nothing changed... And I'm crying again. Not because of the emotion of the ending. But because... I feel so offended. Five years... Someone please tell me why BioWare would do this to us. After five years of faithful following, they do this to us... The game was amazing up until the last five minutes when they make us have this ending...

I keep hoping the ending scene was meant to be an AI interface to Shepard similar to what Legion did. After 250+ hours of game play...that ending was one hell of a let down. ME1 had it right- finish it off with a heroic ending and fade to black....

I had a dream...or was it a hallucination (*insert Shep hallucination theory here*) that Bioware will say "no we won't give you your ending dlc. Instead we will...wait for it...give you an expansion! An additional 20 hours with your Shep and squad and it also contain the real endings! We can't just leave you hanging."

And then I woke up. :crying:
