MAN that's depressing. Even if you go with one of the other colors it still destroys the relays and lives of a huge amount of people.

Just had to say something to show my support.

What a great game -- everything about ME3 was wonderful, so fleshed out, poignant. Then the endings... Have to agree with everything you're all saying; it's just too tragically heartbreaking, and callously insensitive to the feelings, efforts and thoughts of those who have loved the series like a child. My heart couldn't take it.

*sigh* Like having someone seize your intestines and twist. Thank you Bioware for making us feel so dismal.

 For me the ending tell me this: "no matter what you do in life, in the end, it will not matter because there is a force so much greater than you that you don't matter".
yeah. ****ing depressing. It's like they wanted us to become depressed ,BUT human nature is not only about  sacrifice and destruction there is also HOPE
but apperently they forgot that

Another big hole in the story that so far I've seen go unnoticed is when Anderson tells Shepard he never had a family of his own an had no children.

This completely disregards the novel Relevation and the others that state Anderson did have a wife and also a son. He was divorced but family still there.

Really beginning to realize much of ME3 forgets important details or just outright changes the lore previously established!!
How could you do this?!?!?

I think the vast majority of us are struggling with those questions. The rest of the game is proof positive that they still "get it"'; that they loved and cared about each and every one of those races and characters roughly as much as we did in their treatment of them throughout the game. The ending is made all the more disappointing, and as you said, uniquely offensive, because of that.

Technically, AIs and VIs aren't synthetic life. They're programs. Synthetic life would begin once they obtain self awareness like EDI and Legion. So there is sitll hope for the stations and FTL jumps.

Pretty sure "Self Aware" isn't a flag in the program

I suppose you could say the blast seeks out Reaper code...anything with it is destroyed. Would explain the Citadel, EDI, and Relays all going the way of the DoDo.


FYI: My Synth nitpick and Anderson nitpick were all conceived while waiting infront of the toaster for my toast

...Story Devs hate people like me. Six+ personel spending hours storyboarding the 'Story' and it's basically all destroyed in a few minutes........by toast.

Off Topic Question: The Human Reaper looks like a human. Does that mean the other Reapers also look like the Species they harvested? If so.. why do they all look relatively the same? And also, why are they all "insect" like?

I feel the pain man. I think this game is more of a story that i can "write" in laymans terms. I control where it goes. But the ending just puts it as you having no choice but to commit suicide in the end for no reason.

Make up your own ending, its the only option. There is no DLC coming to liberate us. The quicker acceptance is reached, the quicker the pain fades. I myself have my own wonderful ending in my head, like shepard I reject being told how things must be.

I think
they rationalized this by saying that the larval form we see in ME2 is
only the core and the cores look the the harvested species. The rest is a
standard design. The "insect" look is for the "creepy and alien" factor.

Wow! 792 pages since I checked in - finished play-through. First let me say - Thane was exceptionally done all around. Brilliant BW! The Geth and the Qurians was another segment that more than showed the incredible capabilities of this writing team that will perhaps live amongst the best in gaming history! THIS is the standard all other will be judged by - fantastic indeed! Moreover the action (actual fighting) behind ME 3 will become the standard for years yet to come.

However, it is truly inconceivable that the writer and staff who accomplish the above feats could have possible delivered so fatal a blow to so magnificent a series as the Mass Effect Trilogy! I have no wish to dump of anyone - BUT the writing standard up to the ending/s is unbecoming of so brilliant an effort as delivered to so many totally discouraged fans world wide. I am one of those fans - and had hoped for this magnificent series to be the gaming history stand all others are judged by - and perhaps you may wonder why 10 minutes destroys everything YOU all sweated, slaved, and loved as ME 1&2 have shown - which is precisely why 100s of hours of incredible playing time, all of our careful thought out decisions we all made, then replayed over and over again tweaking covering decisions just in case of surprises - ALL of what we did were rendered useless and each of us found ourselves powerless to even argue as each of our Sheppard's had done a thousand times before - WHO was this Sheppard?

I'm very angry and upset - numb would perhaps be more accurate a description of what it feels like after ME3 end. Disbelief is another word - I understood my exact feelings which made me unfit to comment feeling so much rage inside - instead I waited for three full days to try to think clearly. Even worse I know no-one at BW yet I find myself ASKING for an ending where Sheppard will finally find the peace he so rarely saw in his adult life. MY Sheppard deserves no less - my crew deserves no less, my chosen L1 deserves no less, and BW YOU deserve nothing less yourselves.
