Off Topic Question: The Human Reaper looks like a human. Does that mean the other Reapers also look like the Species they harvested? If so.. why do they all look relatively the same? And also, why are they all "insect" like?

The normal reaper shape is built around that and it serves as the core.

Remember please! If you're attending PAX East and feel like stepping up to the plate and banding together, please join the PAX East Platoon: http://social.bioware.com/group/7049/

We're going to get together a list of the most important questions we want to ask at the Mass Effect panel on Friday. Let's band together and show the BioWare people how we stand together, as a united front, from across the country and across the globe.

Well, good night comrades. Here's to a proper ending and Tali's cute drunken confusion with straws.

I wanna know what they were smoking and where I can get some so that I can see those endings like they did, then maybe I'll understand what the hell they were trying to do.

I already wrote most of my feelings ( whatever that left after the emotional rippoff ending ) in many places but aside from the plot holes, illogical sense and the occasional middle-finger to the players who invested their time and money to this trilogy, bonding emotionally .... I can't bring myself to look at it's game icon anymore.

No matter what you do, your choices and by that extend your story has become meaningless in the end. Basicly you and the galaxy are screwed with no choice to stop or escape. Destorying Mass Relays = Destroying all the systems and every planet-living being who is on the planets.... Those who survive ? Stranded with no way to return.

Aside from the Deus Ex crap that pulled on us, that ending had anything but Mass Effect on it. It was like Sherpard ate some space mushrooms and started hallucinating because nothingelse can explain it other than ''space magic''. And there is ofcourse the God-like child and his murderer mindset which is as meaningful as Hitler's. ''We kill you because if we don't, you will kill eachother in the future'' WTF is that SUPPOSE TO MEAN? THIS was beyond our COMPREHANSION ? All I see from this is that Writers had no Comprehension at all for this point. It is the most ridicilous reason I EVER heard in an RPG. Even the villians who kill kitties for fun had better motivations and reasons then THIS !

I still cannot believe how someone can murder such a trilogy...all of the time we invested, the bonds we created, hundreds of decisions we made ... in 10-15 MINUTES ?! That must be a record for screwing things up the fastest !

As I already gave an example of this...Now I feel like how I would've felt if Lord of the Rings Trilogy would've ended with Frodo and Sam drop the ring. Sauron Explodes but instead of taking just the orcs...He destroys the heroes, the armies and the cities along with him...The End.

I wonder how many people would've stormed off from the movie after that. This is how I fell about the ending. After the epic experience I had...this ending shows that worths NOTHING and it renders the Franchise meaningless....

If this is the ending they are going to go with...Then Mass Effect IS DEAD !

yeah, the forums like to auto-format some things. I saw someone else was helping you out though. Maybe the forums will let their instructions through.

I'm Commander Shepard, and this is my favorite ending.

Dssh, toast was yummy. And most effective.
I shall rest and dream of Tali and M(E) [I love puns] sailing the vast starry ocean listening to the antics of Joker and EDI, with Garrus still trying to calibrate those big honk'n space canons we duct taped to the ship in the last episode.

Agreed.  I guess if I were there (and I'd kill to be able to go but unemployed and no way to get there or pay for it), I'd stand up, walk up to the mic and say, "About the endings......why?".  I know I'd probably be in tears while doing it because emotionally those endings just wrecked me and having to face the people responsible and ask them why they killed everything I loved would be hard.

If someone could vid tape it and upload it after I'd be so thankful since I can't be there.  I'd love to hear the actual questions and responses than just read transcript.

I just wonder how many people died in the "red" ending (Destroy Synths). I mean we're talking

-Geth
-Quarrians (if the rumors of them cybernetically enhanced are true)
-Biotics (Those implants...doubt you can live without them once they're installed)
-post-Critically Wounder people (shep has a few implants that look "life critical" [see ME2]
-AIs
-VIs (ooops, there goes just about everyone on a station; the Life Support is probably run by VIs) (and everyone needing to make a FTL jump...unless you think a slide rule is going to cut it)

I don't think it will affect anyone other than the Geth and various AIs (like EDI). Quarians, if they are enhanced as is thought, are ultimately organics and should not be affected. Same with Shepard and his various implants and upgrades. VIs aren't actually alive, so they shouldn't be affected either.

Heh, just out of complete morbid curiosity I called my local EB where I went to a midnight launch for ME3.
Apparently a few copies have been returned for a full refund.
Even tho the store rep couldn't bad mouth it, he dropped hints that he wasn't impressed either.

Full refund!? I need to call my local Gamestop and see if I can get one.

Hello all,

I have never posted on these forums before but felt the urge to as I am at an utter loss as to the ending of Mass Effect 3.

I've played video games all my life and am lucky enough to work in the video games idustry myself, Bioware and the amazing stories they create are one of the main factors behind me persuing my career.

I've been a huge fan of the Mass Effect series, having done multiple play throughs of both the first and second games.

I loved the game, the majority of the game was one of the best gaming experiences I have had in a good deal of time.

However this is what happened for me:

The moment when you wake up from being stunned and wounded by the reaper before entering the Citadel the game seemed to change pace. It felt like I was on rails rather than in control of my character and the game, this just felt odd considering the rest of the 200+ hours I've experienced in the Mass Effect universe.

So I bear with it although it is agonizingly slow walking through the corridoors, I am not sure how Anderson got there though as there doesn't seem to have been a way for him to get there without me seeing him...

Anyway I talk to the Illusive man, waiting for a paragon action to appear as my throughout all three games I have only performed Paragon actions. But the icon never appears, I die and have to re load my game and go through the same 20 minutes of unskippable cut scenes.

I've not encoutnered anything like that in any of the Mass Effect games and it annoyed me a great deal.

After this I explored all three of the final choices and come to the realization that none of the choices I've made over the past five years had any bearing on the outcome.

In all of the options the Universe basically descends into a dark age or will result in mass genocide in one way or another.

I am not sure why Joker was connected to a Mass Relay and escaping Earth either, nor do I have any idea how my team mates that were with me on earth next to me as the reaper destroyed everything around us suddenly ended up back on the crashed Normandy.

I am honestly really disheartened by this and it sadly seems this is a trend with modern games. A good deal of people never reach the end of a game, so it doesn't get treated with the right amount of respect.

Skyrim is another great example of this, Dark souls too.

Further to this:

I played the game through on the second hardest difficulty as I figured I would likely play it through again on the hardest to see different endings etc.

However there seems to be zero replay value in the single player as in reality your choices make little to no difference in the outcome. To me this says basically I could pick the game up never having played the first having no influences or choices from the past and still get the same result.

I find it as you all do simply mind boggling.

I am sorry if that was rather long, I just really felt the urge to write something.

Concept art in the mini-artbook that came with the ME2 collector's edition shows that the human reaper isn't finished when you fight it. The complete version would look like your run-of-the-mill reaper with a vestigial skull hidden in the back.

I would keep the synthesis ending, pretty much says "hit reset everything sucks" so bam reset is hit. But choosing to control or destroy is fighting for the status quo, what you preserved or destroyed is NOT AT ALL told to you...

I can't stand this ending, sure it raises some philosophy questions at first but then you think...wait star child is an idiot...seriously horrible motive. Over the course of the game you almost develop a respect for the power of the reapers, then you find out jesus vi is calling the shots and jesus vi has no concept of "order" or "chaos" and apparently thinks mass genocide is a good thing for order...it's not even worth thinking about because it's just dumb. I'm okay with depressing but at least be logical.

I'm Commander Shepard, and I support this ending.

It is good, oddly I'm pretty surprised at all the people on here sticking to their guns, it's a really good sign.

Go ahead and join the group anyway, we'll assign you to the support batallion. Every little bit helps! And no soldier can fight on the front lines without many, many more behind them in support positions.
