So we can't get the ending we want after all?

it's another fan made ending and its by far better than every other ending I've read, including the popular one that I see floating around everywhere.
I like the particular attention to the LI's.
Ashley's in particular.

Bioware fans....the ultimate snobs. Always think they're entitled to everything,
I think we are entitled to what they promised.
Well, to start they promised us a good ending we had to work hard for. We were promised our choices would matter. I guess you could argue that we were given those things... in a very trollish fashion. We get to live in ONE ending and our choices - oh, sorry, choice - at the very end does matter. But we were also promised an ending where the Reapers could win. I never saw that. Did you?
BioWare gave us a choose-your-own-adventure epic. They said everything we did had meaning. Then they railroaded us into one choice based on faulty logic that completely negates everything we had achieved prior to said choice even after they said we could get the ending we desired. But in the end we don't get the ending we desired, we get three variances of the same ending just played out in different colors. And to top it off, we aren't even given any closure. We aren't told or shown if what we did made any difference be it good or bad. And we're "entitled snobs" because we want that?

Ive just joined the forum mostly to vote about the endings. I've played both ME1 and ME 2 several times over, as have most of us, and as soon as I finished both of those games I really couldn't wait to start the next play through so I could try out other things in the game. Not so with this one. As soon as I had finished (and could move after the crushing emptiness the game ending filled me with) and established that I hadn't missed something or not played the game properly, I put the game away, along with the other two games as I can't face playing them now knowing that that is where it's ending.
In short, I want my happy ending. Now I know some people do not want a happy ending with knowing about your team and you and you're LI together before getting to work (as Shepard settle down, never!) but that's where ME should excel as it should give one happy ending (or as happy as you can manage when millions and millions of people have died) one very bad ending (Reapers win) and a few in the middle.
But I worked damn hard on all my playthroughs, and I feel that Shepard should get something out of it.
And the point is that the majority of people are giving bioware and EA a get out of jail free card on this. We just want better endings. Which really isn't that much of a hardship and has been done before. They could say it was their original plan or that they were listening the the fan base and make more money out of it to boot.
Because we want Shepard to get a proper ending, a full explanation of the state of the galaxy and of the people that we have worked with through the games. Because that's the point. Bioware have made a game that we care about. We care about what happens to Shepard and what happens to the crew. I was genuinely saddened when Mordin, Thane and Legion died. And was really stressed whenever any of them had a cut scene in case that was their end. I have never cared about a game like this before and may never again because it was so brilliant. And the game lived up to that until the very end. When it undid all the years of good work to the point I can't think about the game without being sad.
I'm going to go and haunt the Garrus topic. I just can't believe that Shepard had to leave him (or any LI) and her friends again. I can't.
That about sums it all up... I am one that wants to see my LI (Liara

It just seems funny. Then again I guess that it's irrelevant WAIT. Why would the catalyst modify itself to Shepards memory? What would be the point. Remember the legion thing Shepard was only seeing the Quarians with how he remembered him. I don't know I'm just throwing random thoughts.JamesYHT wrote...

It's true, I honestly don't think Bioware would screw up the ending to a game that bad. Remember the date was set rather early in production.JamesYHT wrote...

Good point, but when the publisher starts to put the pressure on it changes a lot of things. You are forced to meet deadlines. I'm thinking that is what happened here.JamesYHT wrote...

I have a theory. The launch date was set back WAY in June when E3 was happening. I do believe it is possible that the studio publishing the game pressured them especially near the end when the marketing really started. Maybe if it had been delayed about a month or two we wouldn't have this problem. Then people would be complaining about the release date. A dual edge sword I suppose.
Blizzard delays the launch date all the time, people complain about it but still love it.
o, u mean BioWare is kinda controled by the publisher, if it is that, i'm agree with u. guess same thing happened to DA2.
haha, u can always blame the "publisher"
yep, when i saw the space kid, i was thinking that the ending might be rushed. don't want to believe it at the first time.
well....now I think ur theory make senses, great games usually launch in the second half year.
well, u mean the "theory"? it's interesting but I think more likely it's just self-consolation.
it makes people feel better, myself include.
that's just my opinion.
yep, I remember that part, but it's 7am and my mind don't want to work so i call it night. nice chat with u.
HOLD the line guys

Haven't seen any other than Kotaku which was very negative towards us, and now attack of the fanboys, which would also seem like a bit negative making us "a small group" (minority). If you know more, please link, would love to read some positive ones that support us.

Kotaku sadly does that
If some of these pressfolks just took an hour to look through the forums they'd probaly realise why the endings are so bad, and that why we are asking for better ones. Heck just reading the first post in the halluciantion thread should be enough

Pretty sure their employees have been told not to comment on it, not even on tweeter. Think Bioware wanna tackle this the right way, because if someone says something. Some people will see that as "official" since that person is somehow related or working with Bioware.
Hopefully, they're preparing some sort of statement and not just only "reading our thoughts"

So, just until the GodKid part, this would stay the same.
Paragon ending:
-With enough EMS and recruited aid in building the crucible, the weapon fires a pulse that destroys a large number of them and cripples the remaining Reapers shields/weapons, or weakens them, leaving them vulnerable for attack.
We see our wounded Shepard on the Citadel, when a holo of earth and it's near space appears in front of him/her, with a blue glowing dot for every reaper. We see how that number starts to rapidly fall, intercut with scenes of your allies finally pushing back the reapers. The Turians on Palaven bringing down dreadnaughts, the Quarian and Geth working together, We see Wrex and his mates cheering at a burning reaper lying on the ground on Tuchanka.
We cut back to Shepard and slowly zoom in on his/her bruised face. He/she's is struggling to stay conscious, as the screen begins to fade to black, but we see his /her smile before he/she finally is unconscious.
Depending on your choices, this is where Shepard possibly dies.
We cut back to earth and the rebuilding efforts, with a narration by one of the characters maybe, how Shepard's choices affected a whole Galaxy and how he's shown that every species and form of life has the freedom to chose their path and make their own destiny.
We cut back to Shepard, who's lying unconscious, or dead. We see his squadmates coming up the stairs to the room. They find Anderson TIM and Shep. They check for a pulse. If enough EMS was collected or Reputation was built, Shepard opens his eyes. If not, he/she is dead and his LI crouched down next to him/her, holding Shep's body.
In either scenario, the camera moves forward, out into space, just as sun rises over earth.
Credits roll.
That's what I would have done for a full Paragon ending.
For renegade or bad endings I could imagine the crucible not working, and we see the reapers winning instead, or the crucible not working properly, and a majority of the fleet dying but still succeeding, variations like that.
It's just my opinion though, there's no need to go spreadin' it around

They've said that they can't comment right now because they don't want to spoil it for anyone. Thus looking at the release dates we can get a good estimate of when they'll acknowledge the s***storm they've stirred up.
Release dates:
US: March 6th
Australia: March 8th
Europe: March 9th
Japan: March 15th
Therefore, we probably won't get an official response from BioWare until this time next week - or in two weeks if they want to be careful about this. They'll talk to us eventually, we just have to be patient.

I wonder if Kotaku understands that unhappy customers don't buy DLC? Why waste the money on something that your not going to be interested in? Thats alot of lost profit for Bioware. This is not including future pre-orders, sales of new titles, etc.beetlebailey123 wrote...
