No reaction yet as far as i know. Guess they really are waiting for the Japaneese release, which is on the 15th, to say anything :(

i think they made a tweet that they're reading all our comments, but that's all I know about..

Well it's 8am on Monday as well and I doubt they've even made into the office, I imagine we'll probably hear something after they do a group meeting to sort it all out.

This has to be one of the most positive articles I've read towards fan upsetting reaction to the endings. This is the kind of exposure it needs so Bioware notices.

Nothing directed at our concerns but they did say that they wouldn't talk about the endings until everyone has had a chance to beat the game without being spoiled. So I would expect a reply sometime next week since ME3 doesn't get released in Japan until the 15th.

Meh.

The ending just felt detached from the rest of the game. I don't think that the choices in the end were bad per se, but the lack of closure leaves me very sad. For me, synthesis was the only choice, Controlling the Reapers is what TIM wanted, but that's not what my Shepard would do. And destroying all synthetics? I mean, that would pretty much invalidate everything my Shepard stands for, everything he's been doing all game long, trying to resolve conflicts, bringing people together.

And what happens to the characters I've grown so attached to? What happens to Ash? She was heartbroken after losing Shepard in ME2. I can't even imagine how she feels when she steps off the Normandy, what the rest of her life will be like after losing Shepard again. Ash and Shepard saying that they love each other was one of the most beautiful moments in this game for me. And now I'm just hoping that she got pregnant so she has something left, something worth living for. I know there's no hint at it, but I just don't want her to break.

And what about the galaxy? All those millions of crew and infantry stranded in the ruined Sol system? I want to know what happens to all those planets and species we've fought so hard to save and unite. The few quarians and geth who remained on Rannoch are probably the only ones looking at a halfway survivable future. But the rest of the galaxy is in ruins. And did everyone on the Citadel die? What of Ash's sister?

I just... Well... I can't really make anything of this. It just feels empty.

To be honest, I think Ash would have commited suicide by reaper or ate a bullet.  It would follow BW's idea's that depressing endings are good.

Halo 3 is an example of how you end the game with both sad and happy feeling
Also, the relationship of human and AI in halo is deeper and mature than what
we see in ME3, in my opinion.

Not sure if this has already been said, reading 809 pages will take me days haha, but has it been said that the ending could be both real and hallucinating? Because it feels real up until the point where Shep collapses in the citadel after the Anderson bit. However it feels like he was indoctrinated/hallucinating and conceiving different things throughout the game, (the black edges around the screen etc,the dreams).. Just wondering?.... I know that this is sort of debunked by the 20 second clip of Shep alive at the end though. Just figured it could be a possibility.

p.s hated the ending also, feels unfinished.

I've been wondering that as well. When I think about that final clip where Shepard lives by taking a breath, I've wondered if that was the point where he/she got knocked unconscious and everything that happened after was all a dream/vision.
Because as some have said if Shep arrived back on earth via the crashed Citadel he/she would be meat and tubes again ( well not tubes but synthetic parts) since reentry would burn him blacker than a match head. His body wasn't further charred his arm looked exactly the same when Harbinger shot him and his team.  Also it looked like he was on/under some rubble on earth itself and not under Citadel rubble.
So I have a hard time believing that he came into earths atmosphere the same skin color(bloodied and bruised though) and injuries  he had when he destroyed the Repears.
It just doesn't add up.
So if the Sheaprd lives ending was in actuality the point where he was knocked out by Harbinger, and the convo  with Catalyst Kiddo was just a hallucination ( since he had some visions of the kid earlier in the game) that would make more sense imo.
I don't hate Bioware in any means but I KNOW for a fact that they are better than this, and I hope that they see that all the fans don't hate them either but expected better of them.

I love seeing all you guys theories and alternate endings! Goes to show how passionate we are about the game.
Keep it up! Sheaprd would be proud. Also Anderson ... and Hackett...and Garrus... Oh and Wrex... also Tali... and lets not forget.....

It's one of the good theories besides the fact that Bioware forces people to replay a long part where you can't skip if you take synthesis or control. So to continue you have to chose the one option? Doesn't seem like Mass Effect to me xD

Im assuming since shepard only "wakes up" in the destroy choice he'd die in the other :)

Garrus and Liara are my favorite companions, they seem the best written, and are just always there for Shepard. Tali aswell, but sadly I can only have 2 people on my team when I go out so I've grown to like these 2 more which is a bit of shame :(

Ya know, after that rousing speech my Shep gave before the final push, I was reeeeeally hoping that all of my squadmates would be able to participate in some fashion. Because nothing would be quite as epic as every one of my friends and compatriots charging pell-mell into Harbinger's line of fire for the good of all life.

It might screw with the whole TIM convo, or cause most of them to die without enough war assets, but it would have been pretty awesome to watch. Agree with the Garrus, Liara, and Tali thing. They obviously have the strongest bond with Shepard across all three games. Though Vega was pleasantly surprising in that regard.

Posting this for mr.surv who has to wait for 24 hours.

---

I just checked ME3 folder. It's about 9GB.
CD 1 have ~8GB, CD 2 ~ 6GB.
System requirements - 15GB soooo.... we have about 5 GB missing :>

Another:
Crucible connected with citadel = Shep is alive. even Hackett talk with Shep, so WHY Joker is running from beam? Crucible was designed to fire some kind of energy.

And one more thing. Harbinger is the overseer of reapers, and the only role in whole game was firin lazor at the end? and then go away?

Cheers!

Finally someone who actually supports us, a shame they use "rage" in the title though, as it's not really rage. I first started posting here after I had calmed down and was able to express myself in a manner where I be decent. If we just rage for a better ending it'd never happen. :)

Unfortunately for me I haven't made it past the anger part of the grieving process, so yeah I'm pretty pissed off about it.  That doesn't mean I can't have a civil coversation but f______ a I'm still seething with rage.

My anger quickly went off, but I was in depression for a while, and still is of course. But not as bad as the initial day of completing it, I was a wreck. Never been so sad about such an ending ever, and not in a good moving way of course. In a way where I was afraid of  never getting the closure I needed with these characters I had grown attached to.

I don't feel angry, just... hollow. Empty. Gutted. I need to know what happened to the characters I have come to love. I'd also love a DLC where Shepard can have a happy ending. I certainly don't mind having bad endings if I don't prepare properly or screw up, but not when I've done everything right.

That poll is massive, though, which is good to see. I really hope BioWare take notice of this. I want to state again that the game, bar the ending, is a fantastic, wonderful, experience; darker and edgier than the last games, but still retaining humour. But the endings... Man, I want to play the game again, but knowing what awaits... Just doesn't feel good.

Was expecting an ending like ME2 where my whole team would participate in this, and I'd get many choices to chose, and they'd impact how the overall ending would be, and if squad members survived or not.
After the ME2 ending I was so certain ME3 would do something the same, just even grander! Apparently they chose to take a few millions step back :/

Finally I can post! I finished the game yesterday's morning and... I wasn't pleased.

I was ready to see my Shepard die... I was expecting it =/ but then... the kid popped up! I got up and went to the living room and said to my gf "I don't like how the game is going to end". I was being prophetic! I chose the ending I though was worst to try and keep the best for last... When I got to see the "other two endings" I was seriously depressed!

Every time I finish playing a game I get sad... the story is over and all the "friends" I got attached to and all the people I hated in-game are gone and that's it but this time it wasn't like that! I was really upset! The three colours felt like a joke and the plot-holes were insane...

Not sure if the hallucination/indoctrination theory will reveal itself to be true but as for now I must say thanks to all of you and to everyone who is voting on the poll! This really brought back a smile to my face XD It felt like a real-life Shepard appeared to bring every fan together to fight Bioware/EA!

Let's keep fighting!

I am about 5 hours into a second playthrough for Cortez's story but after playing MP for a bit, I had the extra 93 points (yep, 93 lousy points) that would have given me the "good" ending the first time around.  I played the ending again tonight (oh how hard it was!!!:crying:) and I am wondering the same things.  The Normandy bit as well, is this Shepard hallucinating about Joker, his LI and another character going to "paradise"?  I had Joker, Kaidan and Garrus both times.  Kaidan was LI and Kaidan and Garrus were in the final battle.  Everytime I read about the Normandy scene, people always mention their LI being there.

Honestly, if the ending turns out to be a fake ending only for BioWare to come out at PAX and say "But wait!  Here's the REAL ending!  Just spend 1200MS points/BW points/$15 and you can can play it!", it will be one of the biggest travesties in gaming history.  I've always hated EA, only EA game I owned up until this generation was EA Hockey on the Mega Drive!  But I started to get some respect for them this generation.  It has turned to pure hatred again thinking about this senario.  I can't help but wonder how the ME legacy would have turned out if MS Game Studios published all 3 games.....

Good to have you in the fight. It's amazing to see one every 2nd page almost someone like you pops up saying exactly the same, heck, I'm the exactly the same. We all feel cheated pretty much the same way.
We all can accept bad endings, as long as they are bad for a good reason and made well. Bad endings that makes no sense, even when you did the very best you possible could in the game, is even worse..

Take a look at this - It's sadly cut from the game, but cheered me a bit up aswell. Also been a while since I saw the link in this thread, so I'm gonna bumb it.

Yeah, that is what actually pisses me off the most about the ending, even overlooking all the plotholes, making past decisions completely moot, etc.

Except for the raw survival of a few people, there is js very little left ...
  • Shep is dead in most cases - I was prepared for that but it just adds up.
  • Even if s/he is alive, the connection to everybody he/she ever cared about is severed for good.
  • Sheps teammates (if they survived at all) are strandend on a wild, alien planet with a destroyed ship, virtually no hope for help from outside and a much to small and diverse crew to even think about establishing a new civilisation - if survival is actually possible at all
  • The galactic society, the very thing we tried to safe and bring peace to over the course of three games is inevitably destroyed and bombed back into the dark ages of "every system for itself"  - making (once again) most of the themes and stories the series explored completely moot
  • The remainder of all military forces of the galaxy are stranded in a system with a single, half destroyed habitable planet, that even in full health could only provide for some of the many races floating in it's orbit. Now that will be a very peace- and hopefull future *sarcasm off*
  • Similar problems are to be found for many colonies, space station, etc. that won't be able to survive without a connection to the rest of the galaxy
One could probably find even more points to add, but in the conclusion I have to ask myself what the point of this fight was when we have no less pain and problems in the galaxy than when the Raepers just had won.

And worst of all this all inevitably happens, completely regardeless of ALL decisions you make over the course of three games, including the three door end.

The first time I played it, I chose to controll the Reapers, understanding that this - while undoubtely a huge risk - would at least let all technology and therefore galactic civilisation stay intact. Giving all races a chance to rebuild and find other ways to deal with the Reaper threat and leting my squadies find a bit of peace for the rest of their lifes.
Then I saw all mass relays blowing up and the Normandy crash landing anyway and couldn't think anything but "WTF?!?!"
