So basically all you misery lovers aren't willing to support only one semi-nice ending. Despite the fact that you get 6 other endings that all suck, we can't have one (that will not effect your story at all) ending where Shepard gets to be marginally happy.

HIlarious, I always support the option of a **** ending and variations of it, but we're not allowed a happy ending?

As others have said this isn't some Shakespeare epic. It's a science fantasy game. It resembles things like Star Wars and Star Trek. Were you also angry when at the end of the Star Trek movie 6, the crew flew off into the sunset together? Or when Luke and all his friends were partying on Endor? I mean obviously in a video game where you choose what happens no one is allowed to choose to be happy.

That's why I'm still holding out that there is one "happy" ending of sorts that just hasn't been revealed yet but these leaks have me wondering.  Not certain by any means yet.  I'll find out for myself next week.

Yeah, Bioware should have made Reapers a total joke.
They shouldn't advance gaming as an art form.
No, no.
This should be a story with standards of children cartoons.
Hero get's to live happily ever after with his/hers true love.
Yay!
I'm sorry, but Bioware is not gonna do that nor it should.
Besides, you have many other games that do that, pick those.

Yeah, why should the final game in an RPG trilogy have numerous and varied endings?

I won't cancel my pre-order, however, if and I say if the endings are as silly as some suggest, BW will never get another red cent from me again. My money, my decisions on how and where I spend my bucks and in this day and age throwing around $100 isn't all that easy to come by. Its brutal out here BW - the economy sucks all over the world and will suck for years yet to come. You want money from me in the future then pay up for my investment I have may to YOU. This is a sf game not some artsy film made by fools and idiots for them alone. I will warn YOU BW its never a good idea to mess with YOUR fan base - gamers remember and their dollars will speak loud and clear in YOUR future. Read this BW because it is YOUR future at stake here - Sheppard and his crew are YOUR salvation. Use him and his crew wisely.

This!

I'm starting to feel like this game was rushed or the devs were lazy. Even with the delay.

Ok, I have read enough to get the gist of the endings~and honestly, sounds like the perfect scenario for a post-game DLC to me.
I seem to recall some post from Bioware, reminding people not to delete their ME3 saves~there could well be some manner of 'the search for the Normandy' type of add-on.

How about this, make a super-artsy ending that advances the medium etc etc as well as making a relatively less bull**** ending and let people CHOOSE.

Even if this is true, it still sucks, and seems like an underhanded way to bilk us out of even more money.

Thank God George Lucas told a complete story with the 6 Star Wars movies and that there was a good ending to it . at least George Lucas understands who to tell a story .

IN THE NAME OF ART! We shall force the player into this spectrum of sadface.jpg endings!

Never mind the fact that this franchise is about making decisions. No no no. We must teach the masses that in a fictional universe, all sense of control you once had shall be ripped away in the name of art and industry progression.

I play games with "sad" endings. I enjoy them. I understand that I did not have plot control and accepted the ending and enjoyed it. For example, Halo 3 where all of the **** is ****ed up, but the galaxy is saved and your hero is *presumed* dead. Even when you see him float off into space, you're in the dark.

That's fine.

But this is Mass Effect. The ending if your fault. You die in the suicide mission because it's your own damn fault. That's the art of it. This huge spectrum of endings is progressing the art of games. Using this medium for a multitude of results is pushign this art.

Not some "death is the only artistic and realistic ending that will ever matter."

Bioware: “Even
though the information in those files is out of date and does not
reflect the final story experience, we urge fans not to read them if
they want to experience the purest form of the story in Mass Effect 3.”

so, its saying like "the end story is not like stated in the leak, and the files have been modified".

just got some faith in the game,...

The Normandy shouldn't even be missing in the first place.

I would like to point out the fact that we were singing the praises of io9 earlier.

So, with these endings, is this still the:
Most Important Science Fiction Universe of Our Generation?

It's kinda ironic considering what Bioware just did.  They killed off their own universe.

I am too disappointed with the endings. No matter what choices you make in ME1,ME2 and ME3, all the endings are too similar.

Considering this is the last part of Shepards story, they could have given us several different endings ranging from happy ending with Liara to Shepard dying and Reapers killing all organic life. Since Bioware doesent have to worry about story branching.

Yeah, why should i care about going through a red, green or blue ending door when they all pretty much lead to the same place.

'Gaming' isn't a bloody 'art form'. It's *supposed to be* mindless popular entertainment; it's a way of putting one's mind on hold, relaxation, escapism, etc.

Keep deceiving yourself, that you are 'edifying yourself', in playing computer games—you are not.

Pretentiousness to the contrary results in monstrosities such as the alleged 'ending's.

Especially since we'll have to suffer through the game as is until the DLC is actually released. And what about all of those poor unfortunate souls without an internet connection or the ability to download the DLC? Looks like they're stuck with a sh*t ending.

Honestly

So they have a flat base from which to work the next game from.

They already said the suicide mission caused them all kinds of headaches, so an 'all roads lead to Rome', style ending will make it easier for them to start the next game smoothly.

And yet I'm sure that's what might happen. I mean, just think about the huge pile of cash EA/Bioware could earn from such a DLC, considering how many that seems to be dissatisfied with the ending (or at least the Normandy/our crew/LI's) already...

Even that has a silver lining; it gets Worf back on the Enterprise where he belongs.
