For me this is exactly how ME3 should end... not more, not less.
Bioware! Hire this guy! Release a new Ending based on his writings! You don't even need the speakers to do so. Most of it would be CGI!

I'm going to pretend that's the ending we all got.

Not at all. Don't like it?

Say so.

Keep saying so and maybe they'll change it.

But you're not owed it because of your financial or emotional investment.

I have the right to think that this end it's stealing people money. I have the right to think because of my investment in this GAME and after the promises they made, they can't moke theirs customers and fans like this... And I have the right to say it.

But I understand I should bend the knee before you and your "oh-so great mind". Cynical me? Not at all...

YESSSS and for some of us please a little romantic Happy-End with Kaidan / someone else, after the battle.

When I read about the battle I've got tears in my eyes, really. Just wonderful!! <3

Bioware can go bankrupt and die in a hole for all I care if they don't make better endings.

I noticed this piece in the Turian article.

Turian response to the Primarch’s statement was vociferous. Several
inter-and-extranet outages were reported following the speech, as
turians vented their anger at the enemy. Primarch Fedorian seemed to
have predicted this emotional response in his address, though it remains
to be seen if he can contain it. “Now is not the time to be enraged,”
he said. “Now is the time to harness our will and do what must be done.
We must show that whatever civilization we face, it picked the wrong
foe.”

They can't rightfully put spoiler-y stuff in the ANN daily feeds because of the people still discovering the game/those who haven't completed it. Remember, anyone can see the news feed from the main menu, so to put something there that could potentially spoil someone would be wrong.

Fire the fields, the weed is sown
Water down your empty soul
Wake the sea of silent hope
Water down your empty soul

Fight your foes, you're not alone
Holy war is on the phone
Asking to please stay on hold
The bleeding loss of blood runs cold

Kinda ironic how it suits the situation.

May I ask what the point of origin for this news was??

The ending just made me massively pissed off. I mean I had read some of the reviews on metacritic and thought "naaa they ending can't be THAT bad"

Turns out it was and it was full of plot holes how did my squad member randomly get on the ship and why the hell was the Normandy at FTL when it should have been in the battle fighting. All in all I enjoyed all of the game its just the last 10 minutes that crushed me. I had prepared myself for Shepard dying but not like that.. if he were to die at all it should have been the renegade ending.

"obviously by the huge amount of posts far beyond that of normality a lot of people weren't."

And a lot of people are irrational. A lot of people here are ticked for no real reason. They want it all spoonfed to them. They don't realize that:

A) It's basically sufficiently open to build your own ending.

B) Even if it weren't, this story wasn't about Shepard's buddies making it. Or even him making it.

Except that this is an interactive rpg, where they push the notion of "choose your own adventure". So your strawman argument about books and movies really doesnt work here. I can respect the fact that you disagree with the people in this post, but calling them irrational makes no sense. If anyhting its rational to complain when you are told one thing but receive something completely different.
It might satisfy you to use your imagination to create an ending, but it certainly doesnt satisfy me.

LOL. LIke ANY RPG you're given the "choice" the developers choose to give you.

You were never choosing your own adventure. If you were, I'm sure some would have loved to have seen Saren have his epiphany at the Citadel, survive, and join Shep against the Reapers.

I don't recall that happening.

Or what about your option to give the Collector base to the Alliance?

Oh. Wait.

You are and always have been simply navigating the choice that other people wanted for you. It's like the books that feed you some info, ask you to make a choice, then go to page 126 to see what happens and continue the story. Or not if the zombies get you.

All (or at least almost all if someone needs to nitpcik) is valid and is an equal opinion, but in the past when you choose from the options that are presented to you (not the options we invent for ourselves) the difference between is usually greater. Imagine if in the first game when you face Saren on the Citadel, rather than talk him down from trying to kill you and making him kill himself, the options simply resulted in the color of his barrier changing. That's more akin to how the thid finished up. Yes, you have a limited field of otions to "make you own adevnture" but in the first 2 games and most of 3, your options were different enough that it still felt like you were picking your own adventure.

"Everyone, don't feed the Troll"

I'm not trolling.

Forgive me for not being able to comprehend 828 pages of:

@ 0:16

Fine we get it, you believe your opinion is the only correct one possible. Now why don't you leave instead of trying to force it down out throats?

I don't have a problem with your opinion.

I have a problem with the sense of entitlement that seems to color it.

Not "I want a better ending"

The "You OWE me a better ending. This is MY game." that colors far too many posts here.

No one at BW that reads this thread (And they are) is taking anything anyone says that comes with even a hint of that, seriously.

Read the thread for every post screaming WAAAA I WANT A BETTER ENDING, there are multiple well thought out complaints and disapointments.

But you don't seem to be able to see past that, nor do you want to as evidenced by your own posts so far calling people irational and wanting to be "spoon fed".

Lots of people are posting saying they are dissapointed. Not I am owed a better ending.

You are purposely generalizing and really other than to troll or purposely annoy people there doesn't seem to be a purpose to it.

Dude, you don't have to go 10 pages back, much less 800, to find a ton of posts where people are *demanding* a better ending. (I'm owed) "I put 140 hours into these games" (I'm owed) "I pre-ordered all the CEs and THIS?" (I'm owed.)

It colors a lot of (but not all) posts here.

You're not owed. Tell them it was a letdown. Tell them why. Ask for a fix.

But slamming them isn't going to work. Puffing up about what you've bought and what a hardcore fanboy you are doesn't work.

And really, you want to do something else to send a message? Get you and some others to send letters. Actual, well-written, physical letters.

1000 of those is worth more than 50,000 pages of this.

Because anyone can do what we're doing here.  Anyone can hide behind it. And all things considered, this takes way less thought or effort.

And it's harder to ignore bags of actual mail in your office.

So you are willing to dismiss the people who actually make good points for the people who complain about it... That seems logical. I'm pretty sure that if they released this as paid DLC almost half the people who posted on this would pay. I sure would. I'm not going to make demands (it's stupid, and will not get anything accomplished) A good majority of people, and I are making requests.

Yes. I do ignore the people who start going on about how they bought their hoodie and pre-ordered all the CEs and all that. I pre-ordered the 2 and 3 CEs, too. So, what? No one wants to hear that. Bioware certainly doesn't. It doesn't give his anger more weight than mine.

And, what I'm telling you (from working on this side of business and knowing many others that do, too) is that when people start seeing that sort of talk, "fanboy" ticks off in their head, they roll their eyes and move on.

If you sound respectful, reasonable, and filter out that "customer is always right" attitude you'll get farther. Because that just makes the people you want to respond to you not even want to.

At this point I think most people would accept a "happy ending" option even if that just cut to a block of text to read.

How about just a text editor that opens with a caption that says "Please enter your custom ending story, then click Save"?

:innocent:

That's uncalled for. Please keep it civil - they're already trying to dismess us trolls/kooks/unable to please/dumb/to stupid to understand/ and oother assorted idiocy to an effort to dismiss our concerns - I know you're very upset and so am I. However, I'm also struggling to keep myself sane to fight them with reason and intelligence. THAT they can't defeat!
