I agree with you Dragonfire. I wanted more than anything to sit on a hill, or wherever Shep's house might be and enjoy the rest of his life with Liara (my LI) and a pair of beautiful blue daughters.
We don't get that.
But I just read something that I truly did not take into account....BW was trying to set the stage for ME4....Well....If this goes through I just want my happily ever after. I understand why they can't give it to me, but that doesn't take my right to want it away.

Considering they said that me3 was the end of shepards story i doubt me4 will give you what you are looking for. Me4 will most like be set at a different time in the ME univers and ofc with a different main character

Yeah, well unless you're playing as the LI going to Valhalla to haul Shepard's butt from the Land of the Dead, what could they do for a decent ME4?

...Actually, that would be pretty cool...

Guys, were losing focus, back to speaking of why the endings don't cut it for us and why we feel there needs to be more. Don't start attacking Bio-Ware, focus guys! We can hold the line, We can win this and I fully believe that more than I have ever bought into any idea or cause I have ever been a part of before. Hold the line, keep yourself focused. If you need sleep to keep focused, do it, the rest of us will hold this for you until you get rest. Don't let the potential plants drag you into flame wars, don't let us descend into normal forumites, we are a united front from across the world and we must remain as such.

If they did this just to set up for a possible ME4, then i'd be so pissed...

Agreed.

Impossible. Without relays?

You know what would be awesome? If at the end of the week Bioware comes in, telling us that there will be an Addon like for DA with some more, and everyone is like "Ugh...well...nice weather. Thread? With 900 pages? NAH!". But if that does not happen: We have to hold the line.

*Tosses his avenger to another user.* "Hold the line soldier!"

@Aigik - no-one's saying that there shouldn't have been darker endings included. But we could have been given a chance to have the happy ending too. God knows RL is miserable enough some days, without ME3 compounding the misery. The option of a full-fledged riding off into the sunset with my LI type of ending would have made many people happy.

You all know the mission, and what is at stake.
I have come to trust Bioware with my money -- but I have also heard murmurs of discontent. I share your concerns.
We are meant to play games; we would be developers, but our skills do not lay there. Glory in creating a great game is not our way.
Think of our heroes; Mordin Solus, who cured a race with a single shot. Or Liara the Shadow Broker, who kept armies at bay with hidden facts.
These deeds do not seem to give us solace at the end of the game, but a silent fanbase is not at all what we are.
Before the major publishers, there was the honest developers. Before EA, there was Bioware!
Our influence retconned Fallout 3's original ending, but before that we held the line!
Our influence made ME3 return to some of it's RPG roots, but before that, we held the line!
Our influence will change the ending of ME3; in the battle today, we will hold the line!

Well, at this point, Bioware must be aware that they've really stepped in it. They have to know that they need to say something substantive to us.

Just beat the game. With all the whining about the ending, I thought it was going to be a "it was just a dream" ending or Normandy suicide crashing into Harbinger with the main characters holding hands. It wasn't the best ending and could have better reflected choices over the 3 games , but it was unique (albeit the final 5 minutes was DE:HR-ish) and well written/directed and certainly did not deserve all that massive nerd rage spewed all over the forums.

Well written? Well written?! The endings lacked variety, are nothing pleasing to the fans, have stupid plots, poor story value, and so many plot holes that if we were to stack all these negative things up, it would create a mountain of crap so large that it would reach the galactic core, in which the mountain would be sucked into a black hole, pulling Earth with it.

I completed the game yesterday, viewing all 3 options and well what can i say? I just feel gutted. I was planning to take my other Shepard's through ME3 but after seeing these i can't bring myself to start again, knowing that nothing i did in ME1 + 2 mattered.

Still can't believe that all I did in 3 games didn't really matter. No happy end, Mass Relays destroyed, LI separated from Shepard.

And then this

Okay, maybe it's his opinion, what is okay. But why does Mike Gamble publish this tweet on his Twitter-site but not a word about our worries?

Sorry for the inconvenience!

Thank you!

I am both curious and terrified to see what Bioware's reaction to all of this is going to be. My brain has jumped to extremes and can see it going only one of two ways. Either they are going to listen to us and give us what we want or they're going to patronizingly pat us on the head and send us on our way. I can't see the latter going over well with people and it would shatter my faith in Bioware as a company, even if we don't necessarily get what we want I'd like to see a genuine response from them. I hate when companies treat their fans like they're stupid. I think this is an interesting situation because fans are not angry with the game as a whole and really most people are simply staring at the last ten minutes in disbelief as a reaction to how amazing the rest of the game was.

This thread moves way too fast to know if this has been mentioned already - Bioware is teasing at the indoctrination theory being right:

Can someone tell me how I edit my signature? I can't find it in the settings.

Also, I don't know whether it's the Kalms or the Hallucination theory, but the anxious grief is slowly being replaced with cautious hope.

Yea... I forgot to mention the relays... The ME-Universe is based around the relays, so... Unless someone in the universe magically develops Prothean-scientist intelligence to build new relays, then there would not be any more games

I can't be the only one who thinks that giving Shepard a happy ending (or several different ones ME2 anyone?) would still make it final? I can accept they don't want to make another Shepard story, I was well aware of that. Ending it this does not make it final for me. And it's not just unanswered questions.

Also, I wish other people would realize that because these endings are so down and there is essentially no difference between is what makes it worse, it's twofold.

I keep trying to start ME1 but then I realize that no matter how much I agonize over the decisions it doesn't really matter.  So I start a character and just delete it again.

He's referring to the ending of Deus Ex: Human Revolution.  The ending to that game was exactly the same as this one.
