Guys, were losing focus, back to speaking of why the endings don't cut it for us and why we feel there needs to be more. Don't start attacking Bio-Ware, focus guys! We can hold the line, We can win this and I fully believe that more than I have ever bought into any idea or cause I have ever been a part of before. Hold the line, keep yourself focused. If you need sleep to keep focused, do it, the rest of us will hold this for you until you get rest. Don't let the potential plants drag you into flame wars, don't let us descend into normal forumites, we are a united front from across the world and we must remain as such.
Totally agree with that, lets fight for a happy end.
I mean attacking the people who can make this is not really the best thing to do cuz u shoulnt bite the hand that feeds you.
Whatever, I never saw so many people standing together to reach something.
I really thing if we pull at one string we can get what we want.
I mean we made peace between Geth and Quarians. Can't be that hard to get something like another end.

We are meant to play games; we would be developers, but our skills do not lay there. Glory in creating a great game is not our way.
Think of our heroes; Mordin Solus, who cured a race with a single shot. Or Liara the Shadow Broker, who kept armies at bay with hidden facts.
These deeds do not seem to give us solace at the end of the game, but a silent fanbase is not at all what we are.
Before the major publishers, there was the honest developers. Before EA, there was Bioware!
Our influence retconned Fallout 3's original ending, but before that we held the line!
Our influence made ME3 return to some of it's RPG roots, but before that, we held the line!
Our influence will change the ending of ME3; in the battle today, we will hold the line!

I can't be the only one who thinks that giving Shepard a happy ending (or several different ones ME2 anyone?) would still make it final? I can accept they don't want to make another Shepard story, I was well aware of that. Ending it this does not make it final for me. And it's not just unanswered questions.
Also, I wish other people would realize that because these endings are so down and there is essentially no difference between is what makes it worse, it's twofold.
I keep trying to start ME1 but then I realize that no matter how much I agonize over the decisions it doesn't really matter. So I start a character and just delete it again.
I agree entirely. Why not let Shep live, get a medal, get the boy/girl, and retire in peace? Why blow everything up and kill everyone for no reason?

The Mass Effect twitter account is run by some community manager. I wouldn't believe any responses from that account or really, any of the bioware assoiated twitter accounts.

Quoting from that theory on that video:
' SHEPARD IS INDOCTRINATED AT THE END (when the elevator lifts him up to meet the child)
REASONS:
-Choosing to destroy all synthetic life option is more Renegade in appearence. Controlling the Reapers is more Paragon in appearence. The Illusive Man's choice should not be Paragon colors, just as Anderson's choice should not be Renegade. The reapers are saying that Destroy is the worst, Control is worse, and Synthesis is the best. They want you to fail.
-Stating that all sythetic life will be destroyed will give you pause; destroying the Geth can force you to a different conclusion. This choice exists for the illusion of choice; the other choices are ment to sound better.
-Shepard wakes up after Destroy, because the Reaper's hold is diminished. Shepard does not awake in the other 2 "endings" because you are fully indoctrinated by the choices you made to allow the Reapers to win. "Assuming Control!"
-The child does not actually exist. He is an attempt to indoctrinate Shepard. Nobody but Shepard ever sees or interacts with the child.
-When Anderson calls for Shepard at the beginning of the game, when Shepard is talking to the child, Shepard turns back and the child is gone. Shepard has been "snapped out of it".
-When Shepard turns towards Anderson after being "snapped out of it", a growl is heard. In the third novel, when Greyson resisted the reapers they would make a growling noise once they realized they didn't have him under complete control.
-During Shepard's final dream with the child, chatter can be heard over the radio about nobody making it to the beam. Shepard is still in London.
-When Shepard catches the child in the final dream, they are both engulfed in flame. Going with the child (the
reapers) means Shepard's destruction.'
I really hope future DLC will carry on this theory that the whole thing was some form of indoctrination & follow up on it because it seems to make a hell of a lot of sense after reading that & leaves a lot of room for a TRUE ending.

I dont fully understand the role of the flashbacks, nor can i answer chris's question and say what happened to my squaddies as we made the home run, or even confirm what others have said re the end choices being manipulated by some sort of harbinger smoke screen or even explain the many other things that have been discussed over and over ... i am however confident that Bioware has an explanation for all this, its not like them to leave plot holes like this.
Thinking back to ME:2, i remember there being similar comments made when Shepard was implied as being dead through a trailer..... so i'm not putting it past them that they may have plans for Shepards story to continue.
This being said, i've sucked up the courage to play it through again, even if Bioware reads this thread thinking "what the hell ... how come you didnt get it" atleast they can safely say that they along with delivering a near perfect game they also did a fantastic job of delivering something that was emotionally engaging, no other game has done that and it is very clear from reading this thread that the tone of the game had their desired effect by making everyone here feel for the characters during what "may" have been their final act.
Sorry guys but i'm laying down my arms, this is without doubt one of the best games ive ever played and i will forgive Bioware when an explanation hits the interweb, until then i will revist the first and watch from the side line.

I have no idea if anyone has mentioned this since the thread is way too big to keep up, but on Twitter Chris has said:
Faulkner @KenRaves
@BioEvilChris During the final run, just before the end, are the two squadmates with you killed? I understand if you can't answer.
Chris Priestly @BioEvilChris
@KenRaves I don't think we've revealed that yet. Sorry.

I am both curious and terrified to see what Bioware's reaction to all of this is going to be. My brain has jumped to extremes and can see it going only one of two ways. Either they are going to listen to us and give us what we want or they're going to patronizingly pat us on the head and send us on our way. I can't see the latter going over well with people and it would shatter my faith in Bioware as a company, even if we don't necessarily get what we want I'd like to see a genuine response from them. I hate when companies treat their fans like they're stupid. I think this is an interesting situation because fans are not angry with the game as a whole and really most people are simply staring at the last ten minutes in disbelief as a reaction to how amazing the rest of the game was.
Ahm, it would most likely be in their best interest to release a dlc. They will make money, make everyone happy, and it will be the biggest event in the video game history! I mean, they will get tons of press and if this was actually their original plan (as some ppl say it was), well...they are genious.
But Bioware, I still love you for your DA series...though DA2 wasn't as amazing as DA:O, the fact that the character wasn't mute made it a little funnier. And still love you for ME1 and ME2 and 99% of ME3.
But I digress. Ok, back to topic. lol
