I started my second play-through and as I got to the Mars mission and met up with Liara, and she mentioned the Prothean device, I thought to myself..."whats the point."

Had the same thing happening to me, just now.^^

I remembered something, by the way... in one preview I read a few months ago... there it was stated that there will not be "one super weapon that ends the reaper threat"... yea right.

because you would build robots that end up punching you, so i made robots to punch you so you cant make robots that end up punching you

I cried when Mordin died, I cried when Thane died, I cried when I said all my goodbyes to my friends. But I cried hardest when I realized that none of my choices from the past three games had any actual relevance to the finale, and that BioWare probably doesn't care enough to fix it anytime soon. (I'm a girl by the way, don't call me a **** for crying so much).

I will just start ignoring Kotaku completely. Every 5min they send a different message...<_<

And honestly, why is the choice of having our Shep live not included? We had it for ME2, why can't we have for ME3? Because it's the end? So? Can't heroes live? I mean, all I want is a chance to die and chance to live. And I get to pick. That's it.

Ignoring kotaku can only lead to good things

It took me 4 days to process the ending. At first I was confused. Then mad. Then really mad.

But I think I've come to peace with them, assuming the Indoctrination theory is true. I think it actually makes a ton of sense, and explains the vagueness of the ending.

I would have liked to have seen more at the end than just one breath from Shepard, so I knew more of the consequences and got a little more closure. I feel like the fact that what happens to everyone else at the end is vague, even if you get the best possible ending. That's certainly somethng that could be expanded upon.

But it makes sense to me all of a sudden, and I actually think it's ingenious in the same way the Revan revelation in KOTOR gave me goosebumps.

Unless it's false. Then I'm straight back to pissed.

It amazes me how many people call us whiners we paid 60-85 damn dollars for this game I think we have the right to complain we all felt cheated at the end.

To be honest, the gaming media can call us whatever they want. If a few "journalists" happen to think that their opinion is in some way better than that of ~30,000 concerned players, then let them.

In some way I'm sad to see that the reaction to the endings is having financial impact. I'd rather BioWare would come to listen out of genuine interest in the opinion of their fans (sounds naive, I know) rather than in response to the pressure caused by price decay of their product and EA's fuming about shrinking profit margins. It's a shame it always reverts to that...

It's not just 30,000.  It's 30,000 who were upset enough to get off their butts, come to bioware's site, find the poll,  and say something.. First rule of PR and customer service are there are 10 times as many people who don't like something as those who don't like something and complain about it..  These people not only complained, but they actually had to FIND where TO complain.. another hurdle that would remove people.

So assuming we have 300,000, of the 1.5 million so far.. that's 20%, 3 million, that's 10% ... it's not a small minority, and being as most of them are people who have accounts loaded down with other titles registered it's a loyal minority of the STUDIO fans.. this goes beyond one franchise, they have the ability to alienate or provide an olive branch here.

Take your choice Bioware.  Paragon, or Renegade.  (I would die laughing if a Mod replied to this by shooting me haha <3)

Ugh. Everything was fantastic until that bloody final scene where the freaky kid shows up. Shepard was at the console, he had control of the citadel, the catalyst. Why couldn't he have just shambled to the console and then have EDI tell him the choices that were avalible? Afterwards the relays are destoryed but the Normandy picks him up and we have a final scene with the squad on Earth.

It would have been so much better than having some freaky kid dictate the choices, Shepard randomly being nice to what is essentially the Reapers and the Normandy randomly flying nowhere despite all of the Squad fighting on Earth only minutes prior.

I loved the majority of the game but that ending just left me with such a poor impression. The cringeworthy dialogue and complete rubbish uttered in the after credits scene only made the whole shamble even worse. Wow, I got to see Joker Garrus and Tali standing on a random place in the middle of nowhere, that really makes the ending so much more tolerable, not.

This is exactly like i reacted. I thought "Ok maybe sheperd dies but how bad could it possibly be?" I couldn't understand all the fuzz until i saw it with my own eyes.

On the other hand. If the Indoctrination theory is right (or close to it) the real-end-DLC would sell like gold. Probably get the writers a dozen awards for best marketing coupe in recent gaming history.

You reading this Bioware? Make it happen!

More like the stupidist scheme. Yes, lets ****** off the fans. Not tell them it wasn't the real ending. Then sell them the real ending.

And anyone who bought it would be a damn fool.

Oh look, another piece from Kotaku saying we're all idiots and that CLEARLY the ending of ME3 was just literary genius that was supposed to make us all depressed and hopeless. Nevermind the plotholes, huge shift in tone, stripping away our choices, and abject change in Shepard's character. Nope, clearly my 134 hours and 50 minutes of gameplay were all just giving me an illusion of choice, and there's noting wrong with that.

Well they got one thing right, it sure is depressing.

Or, they saw an opportunity to "steal" the ending.
Whatever the case, i do hope that the indoc ending is what they went for originaly.

This endings leave me so depressed I don't think i will ever take a chance on another Bioware game again.  The choices you made in the last two games had no effect and this game was the most depressing thing I have ever seen.  Unless Bioware releases a DLc ending that I can buy I think I will just stick to playing ME and ME2 so i can pretend Shepard fought the war and then got to live to see the galaxy become a better place.  The ending just seems so out of place compared to the choices we were given in the past.  I worked hard to bring the Galaxy together and make in a better place in 100+ hours of gameplay since 2007 and now that is just all undone?!

Please Bioware let me buy a happy ending, this is just oo depressing.  ME3 is just a 30+ hour snuff film made by people who hate the ME universe,it's characters, and it's fans.

What is biowar's mailing address.  Maybe if we flood them with post cards they will be forced to fix this just so they can get some other work done.

Bioware should really watch Baylon 5.  That series had an ending where every victory came at a price and the hero had to pay a big one but JMS was smart enough to know that after 5 years fans needed some release and for the ending to still leave them feeling good about spending 5 years with the show.

hitchcock himself said that in a tension filled movie you need the hero to live because the view needs the release, other wise the story stops being exicting and is just depressing.

Well that sucks.

My biggest gripe with the ending wasn't that Shepard died, didn't get a big happy LI reunion or anything like that, but it destroyed the entire ME universe. I tried to start a second playthrough right now but I just can't... ugh.

I´ve been pretty much living and breathing Mass Effect since the release of the original ME in 2007 and played both ME1 and ME2 through so many times I have lost count. There has not been any title that I have been waiting as anxiously than ME3 - to see how it all ends and to get closure.

Since the launch day I have been playing the game as much as humanly possible and been living all the (small) ups and (larger than life) downs that the third Mass Effect has been showing me and There has not been a single moment where I would have felt bored or not entertained.

Until the very last moments of the game.

When the game finally gave me the options what I could do, I had to pause the game for a moment. I was both in shock and extremely sad that these were all the possible outcomes / endings. I Tried to play through game as thoroughly as I could, made all the good (paragorn) choices where ever possible just so I could get the best ending possible. If there's one thing that I truly hate and avoid in entertainment - be it games, movies or books - is a bad and unsatisfactory ending. It looked like my worst nightmares had come true.

Call me pathetic if you like, but I Cried out of frustration and pure bad feeling when the ending cinema rolled - no matter how hard I tried to make a difference, how much time and feeling I have put in the whole ME trilogy, the final and most important part of the whole trilogy let me down and now I feel besides everything else, betrayed.

I really feel like Bioware has succumbed with their recent actions from the game developer that I could always count on to deliver with their products into the sorry state it now is.
At least in my case, the feeling of trust has completely shattered (with all the speeches and statements that 'with your actions and decisions, you WILL make a difference', etc.) and I will think twice, before buying a new Bioware title.

I do not actually think that anything will be done regarding this whole ending issue, though I most sincerely hope for it. I just wanted to contribute in some way and let you other Mass Effect enthusiasts know how I feel - how a few minutes can destroy a whole trilogy of games for someone.

I won't be paying for a proper ending. It should've been in the game. I would've paid for continued adventures, but at this stage, I am completely uninterested in continuing in the Mass Effect universe.

I would like to see Bioware apologize and issue a free DLC to fix it. If they do this, then /respect.

At this juncture, I wouldn't be surprised if they claim "indoctrination / it was all a dream" was the plan all along, and then fix things in a paid DLC. But would any of you really believe there was a master plan, after the trouble they had with the writing staff and the complete changing of horses mid-stream from ME2 to ME3? I mean, all that dark energy stuff just kind of petered off, and we got this instead.

Hm.

It's pretty bad when an experience like this makes me afraid to do the things I love doing. I don't want to play ANY games, because the last time my Xbox was turned on, I saw these endings. I thought about going to GameStop today when I was out running errands, but decided against it because I highly doubt I could have avoided kicking the door in and flipping out and screaming at the employees for selling me something so depressing and upsetting.

I hate to say it, but if some appeasement doesn't come our way, gaming itself may have lost a member.
