Yeah, really. I didn't see that comparison flying around the internet during the Fallout 3 ending backlash. It's really just insulting.

The Destructoid folks are... how shall I put this nicely... pretty immature most of the time... and they tend to try to bark with the pak and often be very non chalant.

Kinda sorry the Escapist hasn't picked up on our little endavour yet, though... I am really looking forward to what Yatzee
has to say about the ending.^^

Listening to their most recent podcast and they pimped it out with the "can an ending ruin a game" and they also talk about Mass Effect with Tali's face and stock photos.

They talked about the ending and were disappointed in it. However, they felt the rest of the game made up for it.

Quotation: "I don't actually like the ending of the game. I did not like the last ten minutes. The previous 35 hours was fantastic".

About the ending of the game impacting your thoughts to the question "will it negate your enjoyment" and the two dudes agree that yes, a bad ending will ruin the experience for them. The example was Neverwinter Nights 2. It's because a game that ends badly "paints backwards" because it's the last thing in your mind. If there are certain eventualities, everything that you did didn't matter and that can affect the rest of the game.

Honestly, in listening to their discussion on time investment versus what you get at the end for games versus books, it sort of sounds like the two dudes understand what we think and say and, more importantly, agree. The lady sounds like she's on the fence about it.

YMMV, of course. http://www.escapistm...li-Stock-Photos

The talk about the vague chatter about the ending is not the ending and stuff.

EVERYONE MAY I HAVE YOUR ATTENTION PLEASE.

In a little while I will be posting a link to a site where you may donate funds to a charity known as Childs Play, a charity designed by gamers for gamers. We believe this will help our cause by proving to all those saying we are being selfish and entitled that we are not, we are fighting for someone we believe in. The charity itself is worthy of help beyond our cause but I will selfishly say for the moment I am bringing it up because it can help us.

Donation is of course voluntary and were not looking for 400$ Donations from anyway, that would hurt us more than help us, what were after is each person of the tens of thousands we have here and the thousands more who won't post, to chip in anywhere from a single dollar, to ten dollars. The link I will have for everyone and anyone who WANTS to donate, very shortly, so keep an eye out for any posts from me in the mean time, thank you for listening my companions.

Rosery
Hold The Line.

I'm from the UK can I donate?

Anyone, anywhere to my knowledge will be able to donate. This is to prove to Bioware this isn't petulant fanboys crying but that we are a legitmate group, with legitmate concerns and goals. If money and actions speak so loudly, we will give them both with one helping.

Well i think they made a twitter post saying the ending is basically open to interpretation, and thats pretty much it.

"You make your own end, and why dont you try to fill the Citadel-sized plotholes while you at it. You guys are good at that"- BioWare to it's fans.

Several members of the community have already proved that they can do it...

I know. I was just making a joke that THIS is going to be their final answer. That and some multiplayer appearance DLC.

If you go here you can comment on the set up and such we have begun to decide on for our ChipIn donation system for Childs Play, my post about the actual charity and such can be seen awhile back. Cmon guys, lets be serious about this, we have held the line this long, time to do something more than talk!

I would really love to donate right now but alas I am still waiting for a paycheck from work... I think when I do get it though, I will donate the money I was going to use to buy an N7 Hoodie...

Annaleah, that's fine if you can't donate right now, were not quite ready yet anyway. BUT. You can go to that thread and discuss if you like the way were going to set it up and such and if your okay with what it's going to say on the site. I STRONGLY ADVISE DOING THIS. So there is no major issues within our movement later.

Hey, just found a link on the facebook page showing that ign has done a video about mass effect 3 opinions talking about people being angry about the endings and day one dlc here is the link: www.ign.com/videos/2012/03/12/mass-effect-3-opinion-video haven't watched it yet will make a post about it afterwards

The guy apparently has no idea what Bioware has been promising us from the get go.

While it *is* their game, and they *did* make it, they have told us from the beginning that our choices throughout the game(s) will affect the outcome of...well, everything.

So, in a way, it *is* our story.  Bioware has set up the guidelines and the limits and we pick our own way from there.  The ending for ME3 does not do that.  It gives us 3 choices that basically all end up in the same place with different lights along the way.

I don't think it's too much to ask for something that we've basically been promised all along, is it?

Well they did lie about DLC on disk, so it's not surprising they would go back on their word about the endings too.

Here's the thing, If they do acknowledge a mistake and they do create new endings via dlc. Buying that would set an extremely dangerous precedent in the gaming world. It would be like saying "yeah sure bend me over I'll take it, and I'll keep coming back for more." Then EA, Activision, and the like would be shown just how far they can really go with trying to get more money.

DLC is fine. Deliberately holding pieces of the core game away just to sell it to you later is just wrong, especially the ending of a three part series

At least that's how I look at it.

Bethesda did it after the uproar that happened following the release of FO3. They released three other pieces of DLC before it, but they eventually did release something that created a proper send off to the game. And you know what? It was glorious.

You are right they did do the same thing to FO3 but at the same time it doesn't really compare. FO3 was one game and Bethesda was trying something different, while ME3 is the third of series that Bioware has created and then at the very end of it all... they trolled everyone, I mean peter molyneux has nothing on this and that guy is one of the biggest trollers of the gaming industry.

Not to mention I consider Broken Steel to be more like a mini expansion than an ending granted that could be a different opinion than others.

Also if this does sound biased I'm not afraid to admit that I'm a pretty hardcore Bethesda fan. They're one of two companies that hasn't completly ****ed up on me now. (Horse armor aside >_>) Bioware used to be 3 but you know........the ending...

The ending of ME3 seemed so lazily put together to me.   The second Shepard gets hit by the beam from the Reaper... it falls right off a cliff.  Seems like there's no real choice to make to make anything different happen.  The actual ending... after the small chat with the "child"... there's no more, voice acting... It's just some scenes thrown together... A different colored explosion... with 0% consequence shown to make it seem different.  Then for some reason, Joker is fleeing the battle as fast as he can.   Why?... I guess he was a coward after all... and the team is somehow with him.  They never explain it... or anything for that matter...  Don't give me 3 choices to show me different color explosion... never in the entire mass effect series has the quality been so low to make that kind of laziness appropriate... You can kill off Shepard... But a hero's send off needs to be heroic... a more satisfying ending would just to fade to black right after a decision is made...

Yeah thats kinda what i think.

Things just go off when hit by the beam. Why? Because those beams just vaporize organics. Even Shep can't live through that. He's dust, and the ending is just the story of grandaddy Stargazer.
Well, that's what i'd rather have myself believing then the bull**** story they gave us.
