I have never felt more disappointed, more insulted, more betrayed, in my entire life.

I feel as though ive wasted 5 years of my life with this damnable series only to get one big F-you at the end.

Thank you for nothing Bioware.

Yeah I mean come on it's so simple to make a good ending but no bioware just blew their changes of greating a game of the decade.

I think it's nice how quickly people's priorities change. No one is even complaining about the DLC now.

A storybook, cliched, Disney ending would ruin this series.

O belive me they will.
After installing DLC it will "load " you back before last mission (like in Dragon age origin )

I will hate this.
What's the point in playing a little extra side mission when war assets barely matter.

In a series like this, it should be my choice what kind of ending i want.

I invested 5 years into this. I went through countless playthroughs trying to achieve the happy ending ive waited for all this time.

We deserve a happy ending if we want one.

Speaking of DLC what the FU.CK is the point of a paid DLC Character if he is going to die anyway.

Now we WANT another DLC!!!!!!!!!!!

Looking over this briefly without considering details, I get the impression, that by destroying the relays no matter what the player does, they are setting things up for a sequel in a "smaller" universe to reduce possible variables. Furthermore by seperating Shepard from his crew, they might want to ensure, they can bring some of the old characters back in a world without Shepard.
There is no other explanation for them to railroad the story like that in the final part of a trilogy.
I can see a number of interesting games coming out of this, if my impression is right and if it would pay off that way, I could see myself forgiving them eventually, if there really is so little variation to the possible endings of the trilogy.
/wild speculation

But fans have invested alot of time/money into this series. There should be at least one happy ending..or relativly happy ending..

Any other comic geeks reminded of the New 52 threads (such as those on CBR) during Flashpoint? I'm having flashbacks!

Yep, ME-TOR. Image IPB

Where we will have descendants of the crew or something, see a trailer with the N7 armor and everyone will go "OMG, WHAT HAPPENED TO SHEPARD THEN?!" and such.

I think it's a never-ending cycle with BioWare at times. Image IPB

And yeah, if anyone wants to quote me, make it so it say "Turian Councilor", since I saw the picture and well, proof doesn't get much (worst for me) concrete than that. Ok, video, but meh, I've given up hope.

It's the Warden fiasco all over again, if they go that route.

I do not wish for a Disney ending, personnally. I want war, I want sacrifices, I want difficult choices, etc, etc. I loved the ending of Dragon Age: Origins, for instance. Some of my wardens died, some didn't, depending on how I roleplayed them, and it was awesome. None of the (at least my) endings were perfect.
To have ONLY awful endings in ME3 feels... incredibly disappointing. All of my efforts come down to either having my Sheps dead or forever alone? Really?

Besides the whole thing with the Normandy being stranded makes absolutely no sense.

Welp I had prepared my body and mind for a bleak and depressing ending to begin with. But this is a bit much, ah well, maybe I'll at least get some feels out of it.

It's been a grand journey with our Shepards, let us hope this last journey is enjoyable even if our destination isn't.

Unfortunately, the emotional attachment is tertiary compared to the fate of all living Sapient creatures in the Galaxy.

If you're going to play in the hole that Bioware dug, at least make yourself confortable.

What's this talk about "no loose ends" in all ME3 endings...in the best paragon ending they show Shep surviving...but nothing about what happens to him next, are we supposed to assume he spends forever alone ?

Also what's the interesting scene after credits ?

there is some end scene after the credits. That many of us are not sure what it means . but from what I hear . Is it some old guy talking about creating a colony on some planet . now the only way that can happen is if something bad happens to the SR 2 .

So if my LI will be that lesbian crew member Samantha, does that mean forced impregnation? Wow, not only a let down, but utterly misogynistic!

No but it does mean you won't be seeing her ever again as far as Shepard goes . because if the end scene that appears after the credits is right then Shepard gets separted from the SR 2 and something bad happens to it

Sorry, I haven't read everything about it, but doesn't it suggest that Normandy crew created a colony (which would much likely means a misogynistic cliche I mentioned above)?

well there is some reason behind a epilogue showing up after the credits now as I said many of us are not sure . I heard it could be releated to the SR 2 . but one way or another Shepard will not be on the SR 2 at the end of 3. Shepard will be on the Citadel which for some magaical reason is above the Earth and that is where Shepard must make the final choice

Not in a game. And Bioware will learn that when people won't buy their further DLC.

It does make sense, because it leaves a good amount of wiggleroom for a sequal. They have ensured the following by going this route.

1-Shepard will never come back.
2- It kills off the romance options, and its variables.
3-They can bring back iconic marketing characters(Liara,Garus, ect.) without Shepard.

But honestly they  sshould have just done one  happy-ending.

So, I am not going to read the complete spoilers. Read enough in the thread to get a good idea.

What I am reminded of it Divinity 2. I played that game, completely unaware of any story endings. The ending completely caught me off guard. I was left with my mouth hanging open and just being like...WTF?????

I was angry and I raged (privately) at the Devs for a while. But over time, I came to appreciate the ending a lot. Because it is different. Because it dares to go another way.

Now from everything I have seen, ME3's possible endings might fall into the same category for me. I don't know yet. I will not lie, I was looking forward to a happy ending with my LI. A shot of a retired Shep spending time with her daughter/son or something.

Thinking I won't get that does make me a little disappointed. But I'm a sucker for bittersweet endings. So I will see. :)

My my... so much emotion here.

All I can say is: Ever played Xenosaga? Remember the ending? All ended with the destruction of the UMN (galaxy wide transportation network, built by a long gone entity).

For me, it was kinda logical from the start of ME1 that all will somehow end in a similar way...
