I didn't like Garrus at first in ME1. He kinda grew on me in successive plays, and rocked in ME2.

Same here.

It wasn't until he was recruited in ME2 that he became my bro. I actually stopped playing ME2 to replay ME1 with him at my side.

Looks like they've made their choice. Not sure if their latest thing is to try to call us "mainstream" haha. I don't know but if everyone around me tells me my sculpture that I hadn't finished the nose on is "absolutely incredible best sculpture evar"...then add "except for the nose". I'd probably fix the nose... not yell out "It is the nose you're getting" and sit down in a huff lol.

Can someone clarify something for me?

Are we the vocal minority, or the mainstream?
Just wondering.

I think the key word everyone is missing here is "understood."
He's one of the few that "understands" the ending. IE; one might infer that he understood it to be an indoctrination attempt and likes the angle.

In my opinion, after my first playthrough and half way through my second, i have been thinking about the ending choices. I prefer synthesis over destroy at the end due to the fact seeing so many conflict between each races and organic life vs machine. The Catalyst was right to this point; however, i disagree with its decision about "bring order to chaos" by harvesting organic life before they reach the stage of what The Catalyst call " the conflict b/w creators and created" Destroy it will result another chaos in the future and Control it does not really solve the problem at all either. Therefore, the only best choice which our lovely Bioware gave us is "synthesis"
Just my preference.

Going with this is all just a "knocked unconscious" dream.

Red: Reapers prove Organics will eventually destroy Synths
Blue: Organics will seek to enslave Synths
Green: Organics are truly willing to co-exist

In either one you still wake up where the Red one shows you (under debris).
Red: You keep fighting
Blue: You keep fighting
Green: Reapers leave and decide to "watch" things develope

Wtf BioWare? Did you even try with Mass Effect 3? The only metaphor I can come up with about the horrid ending is: imagine you have an attractive partner, and you're having the most satisfying intercourse of your life. But as you're about to climax, Osama, Hitler, your grandparents, and Kanye West break into your bedroom in their underwear and proceed to spray down both of you with liquid cold sewage water mixed with ground up rotten dead animals whilst Justin Bieber sings at 150 decibells.

Yes.

Well, if we were the mainstream, that would be good, because that means we have a better chance of being listened to.

If we were the vocal minority, then why are they making such a big deal out of it?

So... if we are the mainstream, and they keep saying things like that, looks like they are just trying to do this and see what happens.

That poor, helpless fan.

The thing that bugs me the most about the endings are the fact that I cant find any dialog or anything explaining why the Normandy leaves and how your squad mates make it back on the Normandy.

We are winning and we know it, the suddenly troll attacks, the way Bioware is trying to dismiss and demoralize us or so it seems with some of there Twitter remarks. I think...they know we're not just going to go away, the sales are hurting now. Hold The Line everyone, I feel...like victory might just be in sight.

The ending 'choices' were not what made me excited enough to pre-order a Collector's Edition. I, a customer, express my feeling that the product was not what was promised as my decisions were rendered irrelevant in the final 15 minutes of 100 hours of game play throughout the trilogy. Add me to the list of dissatisfied customers.

It takes a special kind of bad ending to kill any desire of starting a new game.

Yeah but also what i meant is that, while the game is awesome in it's first playthrough until the ending, it gets a little weaker when you think about it all.

Like, how suddenly  it's "Too late, they brought the Citadel to Earth, go there now!". I mean, what's up with that? All the citadel defence assets were for nothing? Why would they bring it to Earth if there are still survivors there, why not bring it somewhere SAFE, because the Reapers never intended to use it on Earth (or did they? why is there a beam connection Earth to the citadel)

But yeah, i also know all those questions can be answered with " ITS JUST A GAME DUDE CALM DOWN". But i think that's kind of a weak answer, too.

Ladies and gents, in my twenty years of gaming I have never, NEVER, seen this kind of reaction and then massive community support. It honestly brings tears to my eyes when I think about it. We don't have a snowballs chance in hell still we fight. To qoute one anonmyous imperial guard: "Let's see the fight all of us!"

Hold The Line!

I couldn't pick a better crew to serve with. You people have united the internet. We've gone from a small band with no hope, to a fighting chance. The odds are stacked against us, but we'll stick to our ideals.

Am I the only one slightly creeped out by the fact that I'm using the inspiration of a character whose legacy I'm fighting for is the purpose of my fight in the first place?

Yeah, that would be awesome. ^^

Good question...
I guess we are now mainstream? Yay? Space Magic!:wizard:

I was mainstream before it was cool to be mainstream.  Still a lot of outlets ignoring this.  As more people beat the game it's going to get harder to ignore.

Judging by what samples I have seen, we are at least a strong plurality. Without solid sales numbers and other data, there is no way of knowing.

I'm sure our numbers will look small compared to sales, but you have to remember that this is just the people that have FINISHED the game.

A lot of people avoid spoilers.

A lot more people stay silent.

Had a similar reaction, I was going to go back and play all the way through the series with Garrus, as I never liked him much in 1. But it just seems pointless.

Look it's been nearly a week now and I am still just as emotionally drained, crushed, and defeated as I was when this first came to pass. I don't believe I'm entitled to a new ending, but I sure would love it if Bioware understood how important it is to all of us.

We love this IP, guys. We love YOU for giving it to us. Please don't just throw it all away thanks to this nonsensical ending. Don't you realize our drive to continue with this franchise is nearly zero when we know it all ends in tragedy no matter what we do? I can't even do my insanity run because it depresses me too much..

is it bad if i tried to start up ME1, and as i started creating my Shepard, i felt an overwhelming feeling of "pointlessness and/or unmotivated" ?

We can totally relate. Tried a second playthrough using FemShep today. Made it into the Mars Base and gave up.

I'm still in that place, created a new ME1 character and right after the initial cutscene after talking to Joker and Kaiden I just turned it off Image IPB

GO.HERE. It's our page for the donations to Childs Play, a way for us to gain Positive reputation and to show we aren't petulant selfish whiners and to help a worthy charity, aid our cause and aid other gamers. More information on the charity is in that thread, so hurry, go,read, comment! Soon the donation will be available, done by a reputable service known as ChipIn. We've talked the talk but now? Now it's time we walk the walk, you all know me, I post only to try and keep the thread focused well now Im directing you at a new form of garnering support for us and lowering the chances of being brushed off.

This is a great and noble idea.Whether this will contribute to the change ending of ME3 or not, at least we will bring change for some.:)

Misdirection and defamation tactics are common amongst powerful organizations, whether under direct influence of the primary group or simply sympathizing. Usually subtlty is favored, but sometimes overt attacks are made.

You'd do well to get used to it.

I think it goes to show the effect these games had on this many people. Doesn't matter if it was a video game - it gave people something to believe in that's worth fighting for.

Most of us here know exactly what you mean by feeling "hollow". The worst feelings will be over in 3-4 days. Until then, join the club. We hope you stay and help us get the endings the series deserves.

"Ending the series deserves".  You are so correct there.  The series, the world and characters that we all now know 100,000's became so amazingly attached to deserves better than what it got .  This is the thing that kills me the most.  I thought maybe I was weird having such an intense emotional reaction to the final game and then.... the ending, I am so glad I was not alone.  I will never accept that the story was planned to end like that, it's like someone got bored and said "f**k it, let's kill this thing off".  It worked because the whole 3 games were murdered for me in less than 5 minutes.

The people that think we are geeky fanboys, entitled brats or whatever will never understand the feeling because they obviously did not get the intense emotional attachement that we did.  That's all there is to it.
