The fact is that everything in the indoctrination part of the codex
adds up and happens at some point in the game. Especially in the final
sequence. The part I posted and bolded was the most convincing for me
though.

Yeah, with the way the child disappeared in the beginning without a sound, I have to wonder if the indoctrination prcoess manifests itself in different ways in different people. Maybe the child never was there and it was just the beginning of Shepard starting to finally succumb.

There are a lot of hints throughout that Shep is starting to fall apart, especially after Thessia. The talks with Garrus, Tali and even Joker go along to way showing just how human Shepard is.

Still a lousy way to end it. If they do have plans to continue through an expansion or DLC, then fine, but it still doesn't change the lack of closure at the end. Throwing in an ending like that and then expecting people to pay for the true end to the series will work financially in the short-term, but it would alienate a lot of fans from trying future projects in fear of having to pay 100 dollars for games that once cost 60, just to have a complete game.

Actually that is covered in the codex as well, I suggest reading the entry. It is pretty long, but it gave me some hope.

A few cryptic tweets, noting substantial.

On the positive side, the Child's Play drive is almost to $1000.

Not really much. However, I posted part of the indoctrination codex entry, which is a strong piece of evidence that the indoctrination theory is, in fact, correct. I gave me hope.

Dropped by to tell you that i just read the next DLC will bring new mutiplayer content (new races and stuff like that).

If thats true, this would explain what Bioware is working on right now- and it's got nothing to do with a new ending :(

Up until now I have never felt the need or interest in posting anything on the forums. But what has been done to what was one of the best scifi series demands it.
I have been a loyal fan of the Mass Effect series since day 1 ME1 and have invested a huge amount of time into these games believing that the choices made throughout all of them would have a heavy bearing on the final ending. Now that I have finished what was by some accounts to be the last in Shepards story I find I have been lied to...
I was looking forward to going back and replaying ME1 & 2 and  making a few different choices based on what I now know from playing ME3, saving Maelons genophage data for one, there are others. Now after watching what I am to believe are the only 3 endings and that is being very generous ( none of the other very slight variation count as they contribute very little). I feel there is no point, none of my major choices were ever reflected in them. What's more after spending five years getting to know and shape my Shepard I know that he would never have accepted any of the 3 false manipulative choices provided to him by Caralyst. 3 choices of Caralysts choosing (not Shepards nor of those who placed all of their faith in him) that would not save and preserve the galaxy that he and his crew fought and sacrificed much for. I have no problem with having a very sad ending, I expected it, expected several well thought out endings with full FMV epilogues that reflected the choices I made throughout the series (renegade, paragon, or complete failure Reapers win). Mulptie endings that would have given me a reason to replay these games with the knowledge that the pay off of making different choices are worth the effort. Instead what I got was a complete waste of time and effort, a hollow husk of what should have been an epic final battle and end to this great series.

BioWare please make this right.

and end to one of the greatest Scifi games.

So I am not sure who has read thee codex, I am looking at it now. I am not sure if this was mentioned, but it plays right into indoctrination theory.

Codex--->The Reapers--->Indoctrination:

  • Organics undergoing indoctrination may complain of headaches and buzzing or ringing in their ears. As time passes, they have feelings of "being watched" and hallucinations of "ghostly" presences. Ultimately, the Reaper gains the ability to use the victim's to amplify it's signals, manifesting as "alien" voices in the mind.
This sells me on indoctrination theory, and tells me that the right choice is destroy everything, if that part is even real. I feel pretty strongly about getting a DLC from the point of Shepard's breathing now. Whether or not that sequence actually happened is another question.

yes it is why my SSV Orlová is in reserve. I once wrote you to stop and think about ending - destroy, to think about Shpard's dreams, to think about all what happend in the citadelI wrote BioWare is playing with our mindsIt is INDOCTRINATION

I think it's important that a lot of GamerSites write about us / our fight! You all should write mails to GamerSites and ask them for help.

I dont. I'd rather see an end to this thread.
I'd like to see BioWare come in here and talk to us. Explain to us what the ending was all about.
Why was there only 1 ending? Gallaxy turns into one big mess. And no matter what, earth is screwed.
Why is Normandy running/fleeing through the Mass Relays? How did the crew get back to Normandy?
Why did the crew agree to run/flee after everything they've been through? What happened to taking a final stand?
Was it all just a dream or hallucination? If so, does that mean we dont get a closure? Or was the whole idea that we would fail all along?
Or will there be a DLC that finally gives us the real ending and if so, will we have to pay for it? And if we do, why would we have to pay full price for a game that wasnt finished in the first place?

No matter how I look at the game, everything I did since ME1 has been for nothing in the end.
I've had one hell of a ride, but earth is pretty much doomed no matter how you look at it or what you do.
Yes yes, reapers are gone, but that doesnt mean the planet and people you set out to save are safe, but quite the opposite.

Thank you BioWare for one hell of a series. Its been a blast. Just a shame I wont remember Mordins sacrifice, Legion becoming fully self-aware or any of the other great parts of this game when looking back at it. I will only remember the ending, and not as a good thing, sadly.

Be very wary of donations wherever there are controversies. There be scammers around. This could be an honest donation, but then again it could not. Just be careful.

I'd much rather not remember this poor excuse for an ending at all. Next playthrough I will avoid the final mission altogether. I refuse to play it again until the ending is changed.

Nothing substantial I'm afraid.

Child's Play drive just broke $1000 though, at least some good will come of this.

Keep doing the routine checks, nearly time to hit the sack hopefully we hear something official soon, More than likely we wont hear jack until a couple days after the Asian release. They'd be silly to admit fault or express remorse to the legion of unhappy fans before they have had a chance to get a few million more sales out of it.

What intrigues me is that normally Bioware is very responsive and community driven, and for this, they have been on hiatus, keeping some sort of secrecy that leads up to speculation (And to sound very paragon/par-cheesy) and hope for them actually planning this all along, and eventually rubbing it in our faces, causing probably one of the best turn of events of gaming history.

Yea, I mean if they were only trying to withhold spoilers, they could easily tell us if this was the real ending without spoiling anyone. There's got to be more to this than we know about right now.

So true. Since I'm a sucker for happy endings, I could play the game with the minimum of war assets, because hey, in the end I'm gonna die anyway and everything before didn't matter.

You know, Harbinger was right in Mass Effect 2. "You have achieved nothing". Shame it became truth and wasn't just defiance.

Think about this too. But they are damaging their sales right now, due to the customers who bring their game back. They could at least tell us : "don't panic, we will answer you, we're just waiting for the 15th" or something like this.
