This may be, or may not be. I can see how what you are saying is true on many levels. At the very least though, this horrible triad of endings has given us, and shown them one thing. We are a group of people united. Our love of the series they have created giving us this passion to be bold enough to unite and speak out, where normally we would sit back and just accept it.
Their (Bioware) work, their effort in this series and their labors of love gave so many people something to look forward to. I do not speak of the endings here. I speak of the times when we get home after one social or society obligation or another, totally crushed by the day in which we would then be ancious to be in this thriving universe in which Shepard and the rest of our dear companions reside. I can't think of how many days I would come home, glad that I could once again play in Shepard's universe, looking forward to interactions with the game on my terms. They did not replace real friends or real experiences, but in a way, Bioware crafted a series that gave us a sense of these things. A true epic that gave us concern for the world and the people alike. A good book with characters we can grow to care for.
I have seen more civility here from the people of this forum than I have seen from people who are just dismissing us as feeling a sense of entitlement. I have seen people give of themselves to a cause here in an effort to show that we are not just children with wishes for entitlement for a "good ending" (Which isn't a bad thing, mind). We want an ending that befits this masterpiece of a game. If Bioware states that they feel this set of endings was their masterpiece, and that the whole point of the series was to state that no matter how much choice you are given, at some point it could all be ripped away from you and there is nothing you can do, I can understand it. If they want to say that no matter how much you prepare and how much you sweat and bleed to achieve something, it doesn't always go well, I can see their point. But I, and this community, feel that such an ending defaces what the series has ment to us.
A tragic ending can be a good ending. Maybe not everyone wants a tragic ending, but not all stories can end this way. A tragic ending that has meaning can speak volumes. I could go on and on, but I think we all know our own hearts. Let us keep pushing on, showing Bioware that we love their game enough to ask for an ending that doesn't take away what Shepard and everyone means to us.
