Yeah, the whole "your team has gotten to safety while you rot in space (after condemning trillions of individuals to inevitable death)" endings.
I'd have preferred to take a Carnifex slug to my own head and let the Reapers "reap" away the current cycle, after all, I shut the backdoor to the galaxy, locked the Citadel from being instantly accessed by them, and had a gratuitous amount of info on the Reapers stashed away in my codex. Let the next cycle's "Shepard" make that decision instead of me. After all, the prothean Shepard equivalent failed in his mission big time.
And besides, I saw Ash and Liara get incinerated by Harbinger's Shoop Da Whoop.
One more obvious plothole. EDI survives the "perfect" ending despite Crucible telling you ALL synthetic life will be destroyed.

I'm gonna put forth an idea that is gonna be unpopular.

The very notion that there is even a snowballs hope in hell of there being free official alt ending is beyond absurd, no matter how many people sign up.

You guys are smart, you all at least have some idea of how the development process works and how meticulously it's planned out.
Does ANYONE here honestly believe they will slow DLC development and compromise other DLC sales by working on an ending which will be a public admittance to people not liking their product in the first place, will take god knows how much money, time and resources and may well require rehiring VA, some of which may already be contracted to other work?

You know why BW hasn't said anything? because people are still out there buying it. I guarantee you a couple weeks from now they will turn round and say 'yeah..no we're not doing that, but thanks for your feed back'

Let it go.

This.

Just wish I'd seen this thread 2 weeks ago :-/ Or even read forums.. Could have saved money and not gotten that hollow feeling.. read that some people called the endings "bittersweet". Bitter is more like it. Bittersweet was Ultimate Sacrifice in Origins, with some conclusion. This.. this is just .. empty.

Hard to accept that a game can provoke such a ****ty feeling.

I would rather resist and it be all for naught than give up because of bloody pessimism. Honestly they made Zaeed 'free', they can stomach making the ending fix free, the fact there's at the very least an even split between people defending Bioware and criticizing Bioware OUTSIDE OF BSN shows me that it's not just simply about that. Honestly, I freaking hate how a company think its reputation will be tarnished if it admits there is a problem, you know how well that worked out for BP? Not that freaking well, most companies that do admit there a problem and make amends for it gain positive popularity, those that ignore and ignore and ignore...well yeah, how well did BP's propaganda campaign go? Not well.

I couldn't have said it better myself, kudos

Most recently CCP admitted errors in its approach to the Aurum shop in Eve and they were humble and apologetic and they won back a lot of customer support and faith....I'm not seeing that from Bioware.

Exactly! Honestly I don't know why being able to show a little humility is such a rare trait in society, sure, I **** up and get embarrassed sometimes but owning up to it is more satisfying then trying to ignroe it and letting it gnaw at you slowly. Honestly, businesses across the world seem to be acting suspsiciously...insane? I guess that'd be the word.

If you show your customers that you're willing to admit there's a problem, apologize at the very least, own up to it, the vast majority will likely forgive you and understand. The rest are the unpleasables. And free ending DLC would easily restore my loyalty status for Bioware. And by free I mean 'free for people with a pass' because that's probably the only way it'll be free...

To be honest with you I think the entire game wasn't executed very well. It's more reliant on shooting and gameplay than I've ever seen an "RPG" do in my life. Unfortunately, the shooting and cover gameplay don't feel very modern, and are well behind the likes of Gears of War and Uncharted.

My biggest gripe with Mass Effect 3 is that it feels like it has retained almost none of the RPG qualities we saw in the first game. Sure, there is lots of dialogue but Call of Duty has a lot as well - does that make it an RPG? The ship upgrades, squad customization, leveling, and more are all way too cut and dry. Worst of all the endings are terrible and offer no sense of closure.

The game needs a LOT more than just an "ending fix", but I suppose that's a good start.

I think I kinda agree with this guy. It's like it has lost its RPG part a little bit...

you know all they would have to do is pull of a max payne 2 type of ending. on easy, normal, and hard you get those endings we curently have. And on isanity you get the ultimate ending ending where everyone does not get a shaft the size of the citadel up their colective behinds.

It's funny you mention that. Max Payne 2 came up in a conversation about game endings a few days ago and I just made an off-hand remark about the "Dead on Arrival" difficulty setting's alternate ending. I thought it was common knowledge, but the other person's eyes shot wide open and he said, "What?!" [spoilers for Max Payne 2 ahead] For almost 10 years, this person (a fan of the series) had thought that the version where Mona Sax dies was the only ending.

Video games really shouldn't leave a trail of emotionally devastated people in their wake. I've never been this depressed as the result of anything else in the realm of fiction.

I guess the point of my post was that it's entirely probable that due to lack of time, resources and money, as well as the possibility of VA already contracted to other projects it may well be simply that it's just not possible to meet this 'need'.
If that's the plain old truth of it could people accept that or will they be call ing BW liers and everyother name under the sun?

I'm not a Bioware fan per se, I just happen to love their Mass Effect trilogy, so I don't know what happend in DA2 / how Bioware reacted to it.
If you are right, this is pretty funny actually. :>

30+ hours on ME, 30+ hours on ME2, and 30+ hours on ME3 - and that is just one replay - for what? For thi ending? For ending with diferent color scheme? For lose-lose-lose situation? For destroying everything that I fight for without any reason?

And why didn't you put "not use Crucivel" option. Killed few reapers without that device, with concentrated fire we could take them all. But no.........

Thanks Bioware, you ruined my day. Thanks alot!

If Bioware is really planning to release the ending after every release has passed, we will find out tomorrow after noonish...you know, because of the time difference it will be Midnight March 15, 2012 in most parts of Asia.
