Taken from Facebook:
"I love how the opinion idiot on IGN did a video calling anyone who was unhappy with the ending to mass effect 3 too dumb to understand it. He also continues that petitioning a game company for ANYTHING is apparently childish and entitled. Little does he know that going onto a major, supposedly unbiased, review site and calling people who have a problem with the ending entitled morons because you disagree with them is the pinnacle of hypocrisy."

Hehe, reminds me of indie movies on vimeo where literally _nothing_ major happens, but if you criticise the plot people say you just did not understand the ingenuity of it.

Someone in this thread wrote something along the lines "The ending is as subtle as a grand piano being thrown out of a ten-storey building". I found that to be a nice simile. :>

Well, after finishing (hopefully not) the game saturday I've been reading this thread hoping for some response.

Not sure that, other than my voice, I can add anything which hasn't already been said.

Wonderful game up until the last ten minutes (for all the reasons already mentioned). I played through ME1 & ME2 four times each, and like many of you was looking forward to playing through all three. Don't see the point/motivation at this point. I'll hold on to my copies until BW responds (or until enough time reasonably passes to allow for response-i get no release yet in Japan-and if nothing is done, sell them back).

I really want to love this game. I did love this game until I made it to the ending and then was just depressed and angry.

I'll give BW the benefit of doubt until that benefit is unwarranted. If this is a pre-conceived plan (indoc/hallucination), or just one of which they take advantage, then a rather melancholy 'kudos' is in order. If not...

So about the end...I don't know what happened with you all. Humanity and other species faced an enemy never seen before with incomprehensible power. Shepards path from beginning was about to fail, but despite that they go on again and again on the long road of sacrifice. I don't know what do you expect guys in the end, a fairytale or something even with a pink fog or something, but we see was the way of war. And Shepard made the ultimatce sacrifice to save all organic life.  In the end I am not saying that I was happy, because it is not true, but I am very satisfied with it.

And for Bioware I would like to say a thousand thanks for this brilliant story, a mark in the computer game history, and I'd like to rally you not to forget this universe that you created..there is still so many potential in it. The best single player game experience ever.
So in the very end, keep up the good thing.
Your sincerely, D.

I have huge issues with MY Shepard apparently bending over with 5 mins left and just obey someone who's killed that many for some weird makes no sense reason.

Apologies if this has already been answered for certain. Does the "Shepard lives" option occur for any of the other ending options apart from 'Destroy?'

I'm curious about the indoctrination theory, however, the Bioware crew has stated many times over that the game is "complete" as it is. Makes me wonder if this isn't simply the fandom trying to save the ending from itself.

I don't know, I think Bioware are more interested in the multiplayer. Looks like a new dlc might be coming out soon.

Its not on the same topic but related and really populist movements get things done, The Arab spring while on am much larger and grander scale with much sadness and anger is a populist movement by the people to demand a change in something. Im not saying our cause is as grand as that but with people power and sustained effort you can make a difference.

I f we all gave up everytime someone said lump it I dont think the world would be the way it is today be that a good or bad thing im not gonna start on.

I work at a retail store in the electronics department, and we have a constant roll Of commercials on the tvs in he back. Included in our Jeremy ones is he mass effect 3 take back earth trailer. And each time I see it, I want to start crying. I beat it on Thursday last week and I am STILL depressed. BioWare has wronged us. All I want is a fix...

I really don't understand BW's PR stance, here. They should say something, anything. Leaving this to fester is a terrible idea.

Welcome to Corporate Arrogance.

Let's make sure to keep this civil and give Bioware the benefit of the doubt for now. That's the only way that the people in this thread will be taken seriously. I'm a fairly pessimistic person myself, but even I'd like to hold off on anything until we hear from them.

You have to remember: the game doesn't release in Japan until the 15th, which is the last place that's getting it. We'll probably hear something sometime after the 15th so just hold on a little longer.

"The ending isn't when you think it is" <-should have been said on page 2 by THE HEAD DEV.

That's all they would have to say. That doesn't spoil ANY OF THE STORY. Nor does it give away the ending.

The fact they haven't come out and said anything beyond "keep your saves" is beyond understanding. The "joke" went to far, the fanbase is getting pissed off.

Why should they (probably EA) listen, the fanbase will always "keep playing". Blizzard proved that with "Real ID on the forum", which was stopped only after their lawyers pointed out that under ESRB "T"-rating guidelines the company is mandated by Federal Law to use due-diligence in protecting the identity of minors. *laugh, but it's stated right on the ESRB website and yet Blizzard was going to go through with it*

And whatta ya know, after they said they'd put it on hold people renewed and/or kept playing and OMIGAWD, it blew over and no one brings it up.

And again with CCP and the Monocle Gate ****storm. They said sorry and people went back.

And it appears Funcom will do so with Secret World. So many said "i'll never buy a funcom product again" after AoC and Failcom's arrogant "there's nothing wrong with the game" statements.

In each instance, the Game Industry called the playerbase's bluff and won.

...When are you, the playerbase, going to get up and walk away from the table?

In the end Bioware could be saying "we should fix it" and EA just says "naaaah *rolls around in the money some more* So whens the next IP due out?"

So you consider multi-colored space magic to be a "brilliant story"?  The idea that no better ending was possible considering the enemy is ridiculous given that Bioware relied on a Deus Ex Machina ending.  When alien super-weapon that solves the galaxies problems with space magic is in play, it's nonsense to say "Oh a good ending is unrealistic."   Any ending besides the reapers winning was unrealistic.

Mine was first confusion, then shock, then a kind of numb despair.

And I had to go to work 20 minutes after beating the game. :? My coworkers probably thought someone had died.

Still, we shouldn't let this thread become just a series of posts bashing Bioware and EA. A lot of us feel the same as you, however, to be more than the gaming media is making us out to be we have to keep things civil. Bioware reads these forums, so they know what we're really saying. We keep this cool and they'll realize we're not just a bunch of entitled gamers. We're concerned gamers who love the Mass Effect franchise.

If I am near a manager or supervisor I have to say good things to make the sale. If not, I still say good things but warn about the ending and point out our movement here. I have said it before. Mass Effect 3 was a masterpiece. The only problem I have with it is the ending.

I don't think they're used to this level of confrontation.  BioWare has NEVER screwed up this bad before, so this has to be new for them.
