Just to clarify, is the ending where Shepard bites the dust relatively positive on a larger scale?
Nope, Normandy/Crew still screwed, relays still destroyed, galactic civlization crippled.
Same as the other 2 endings.

I like that!nightcobra8928 wrote...
@elegana, i'd even go so far as to add one more scene to your written ending that could be regarded to me as the perfect ending.l
Imagine that unknown planet had some natives, maybe existing races or others alltogether. We see joker on a holotape depicting his life on the planet, interacting with the remaining crew and natives, showing him age over the years as the records go happy with his full life and the scene transissions to a human hand closing the holotape. Fast forward a few thousand years and civilization has flourished in this planet along with some visual cues that shows us that the normandy crew was important to this outcome like a statue of shepard and his/her crew on the central plaza or something like that.

It's like they took the DA2 ending, and removed the only aspects of it that fans could cling to. No LI, and no promise of something bigger on the horizon.
It's just... over.

It's amazing how you people paint Shepard as someone who can't cope with loss, and have no survival intentions or instincts on Earth.
Shepard /= You
It's not that Shepard can't take a loss or two. I'm pretty sure he can take the loss of the galactic society or so, since he knows the galaxy now has a chance to prosper without the Reapers.
However, Shepard basically loses ANYTHING. There's nothing left of what he had before. No friends, no family, no love, Earth is burning ... he's pretty much alone in the end.
And that's something hard to swallow.

WELL, ****. If this day couldn't get any worse:
"Depending on what characters the player has assumed, sex can take place between humans and humanoid aliens of both sexes. The sex scenes contain no nudity and no detail of sexual activity."
Seriously? Are we still in fear of Fox News?

Ok, so we can start praying since now?
God, grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the Courage to change the things I can and the Wisdom to know the difference.

Nope you have to fight Reaper Shepard for it.

I just don't understand why they would get rid of all the tech and biotics and relays that DEFINE the mass effect universe if they are planning to make more games?

@ghost rider lsov, i was tending more to a last survivor of the remaining crew or maybe even of a student looking through their past history at a solus academy so that their knowledge is never lost or something akin to that.
