Maybe ...
... it was all a dream
... if you want to see the REAL ending
... you must see Mass Effect: The Movie

Or what if they were never going to release the ending until every launch day was finished.
... then DLC(free) from Origin.

Of course! Did anyone think they didn't release the end so NO ONE would get it spoiled beforehand?!
The ultimate Spoiler protection...not releasing it until later. If that was the tactic...brilliant! Most brilliant! Unorthodox, but brilliant.

Would also stop piracey. Not for this game but for future games.

I work at a retail store in the electronics department, and we have a constant roll Of commercials on the tvs in he back. Included in our Jeremy ones is he mass effect 3 take back earth trailer. And each time I see it, I want to start crying. I beat it on Thursday last week and I am STILL depressed. BioWare has wronged us. All I want is a fix...

And if a customer asks you about the game?

I work at the checkouts, Im known to be a gamer, and get asked about new game sout. Last week was ...

"woot can't wait till i can play and finish it (add in ranting bout how good the whole series is)"

Went back to work yesterday

My customers come back in and say , so how was the game i reply "Don't bother asking, its ****, im moody depressed and want to shoot the ppl responsable, bet there glad im in aus"

Over here ppl talking bout mass effect and how they havn't finished it yet "Hi sorry to interupt, but yeah, DON'T finish the Game please, and if you do please feel free to jump on the forums and join the facebook page" they did look at me weirdly but be fun seeing them next week.

I admit that I agree with the universal anger over the endings of the game, but many of the responses and anger seems to be based on misplaced self-entitlement, i.e. "This is MY game and I DESERVE a better ending for what I paid to support this series."
Some of that just makes me shake my head. Even a small group of the fans acting up in such a way could ruin our chances of getting better endings. The tone should be lowered a tad, with more of the "This is a great game and an amazing series, it deserves a better ending than what it has, wink wink nudge nudge."
Don't forget how utterly amazing the rest of the game is, as we're just pushing that aside and focusing only on the one bad thing. It pays to be kind, as well as critical.

Just got an idea for a fitting metaphor:
Mass effect 3 is an old dog nearing its end, so after years of fun and game you go to the vet to see your options. The vet tells you "Meh he gotta die" and you go "Wait, he has to die?" and the vet goes "Yes" you go "Why? Can't he live until old age takes him?" the vet goes "Because. So what will you do, gas him, choke him or the syringe?" and you go "WTF! fine.. Syringe since that seems the humane option" then vet starts injecting your dog, followed by dog being in obvious pain and you go "What the h***!!!"
he says "Well since he is going to die i'm killing him using this painful, cheap poison."
you go "Why!!!!". If you choose choke or gas the dog still dies in pain and you still don't know why.

And I would never condone treating anything in such a way, which is why the ending is such a /%/¤¤%&"#

Its not exactly news from Bioware or EA but this is a good article from forbes that really puts things in perspective www.forbes.com/sites/erikkain/2012/03/13/mass-effect-3-and-the-pernicious-myth-of-gamer-entitlement/. Everyone here should read this its a very good article that even touches on what the guy at IGN said.

Im preaching to the Choir here but lets take each ending from the top.

1. Meld/Merge with the Reapers and get them to go away - Really??? Why not just let Sovereign win in ME1 I mean it would have been a darn sight less Painful. Also it just carrys on the cycle of extinction in the galaxy which was not the point of the Series at all.

2. Synthesis create a hybrid synthetic/organic thing since all races are based on that hyrbird genome now so no war. - What you just rape the galaxy? With everyone railing against GM foods and test tube babies ofc just why not do it on a galactic scale cos doing it to a few hundred people is a crime but to the galaxy your a hero?

3 Destroy wipe out all synthetic life including Edi and the Geth - So to save the galaxy you destroy your allies, your friends and with all the above the relays explode killing anyone else? I mean i guess if we want to play as some other species in the next ME

I finished ME3 last sunday, and what i have to say is that the plot hole in the ending is so big, i think even Star Wars' Death Star 2, which is 900 km diameter in size, is smaller.

And its crappy, because you don't have much choice in the ending....

well the games was an absolute rollercoaster of a ride and my god bioware, you do gaming justice.
The end, well, even hollywood couldnt come up with that, but for all its unforgiving, crushing finale, and the melancholy afterwards, this game was the promised big bang of one of the most best games ever made. to all the folks not impressed, look at it this way, if bioware want to bring shepard back, they will, they did it with ME2 in a most unbelieveable way and made it believable, so hey this time there is no body, but you never know, we may get an ME4, or at the very least a load of great DLC, but sometimes you have to let it go...maybe the ME team want to do something different? thanks BW, you made me laugh, cry, resent, hate, love and left me sitting in silence and melancholy awe, sad to see shep go, but i got to make love to liara one...last...time

Do you really think this is so misplaced? For years we were promised that things would pan out depending on how we play the games, ie the developers gave part of their "creative powers" to us; only to take that (and this idea of forging your on story is still a defining part of every bw game) away from us in the very last moments. And that is in my humble opinion the reason why so many people feel fooled....

lots of people are talking about a patched free DLC ending.....it doesn't matter to me, but did they not consider gamers that don't have XBL or PSN....

gotta think that didn't slip their mind either and there's no other ending forth coming

Maybe if EA could have taken the trouble to do a WORLDWIDE RELEASE DATE they would have no reason to be silent! I had my 360 set to Japanese when I started my imported US N7 copy of ME3 and guess what? Full Japanese text! They could have released it in Japan last week. Much like Spike chose to do with DA2, they didn't dub the 3rd game.

When I got to the end, that was actually my thought. I took about 10 minutes on the web looking at the different endings cause I was completely confused as to what had just happened. Then got back to the game and forgot which path was which. Ended up picking synth by accident. Figured, "If I just walk straight maybe I'll get another dialogue cue."

Guess not.

Is not entitlement, it's for the good of the series. As long as this is/are (see no difference) the ending/s, the series is dead. And we aren't just 10 whinny people, so if Bioware really appreciates their sales, they better fix this, because "we" are the ones who pay every single DLC, we are the ones who buy Collector's Edition no matter how ****ty they are, because we love every single aspect of this series and we want it to be a complete one.

I don't know what the point of this continous raging. If you like a happy ending you should read Andersen, or Grimm...
One more thing. I think each of you have his/her own idea how this end would seem good. I hope you don't want that to Bioware creat endigs uniqe to each of your tastes..
