So we can't get the ending we want after all?

Just wanted to add my two cents.

I beat the game last night. I was on a gaming high from the Cerberus station up through the fight to the beam. The game was amazing. I had made it. It was time to save the galaxy and get the pay off for the 100s of hours I'd put into the Mass Effect Universe.

I get to the control panel, broken but not beaten and ready to make whatever sacrifice it took.

Then I get star child and space magic.

Nothing I did mattered at all. The teams I built. The fleet I gathered. It was all for nothing.

Mass Effect was my favorite game series ever because of the story I was able to craft and these endings robbed me of that. I've been gaming for nearly 30 years and this is the most let down I've ever been by a game.

lots of people are talking about a patched free DLC ending.....it doesn't matter to me, but did they not consider gamers that don't have XBL or PSN....

gotta think that didn't slip their mind either and there's no other ending forth coming

Because that probably wasnt on their mind....if something comes, its fan"service"....my 2 cents.

Can't believe Casey Hudson and Mike Gamble changed THAT much.
Why no fan-dialogue, guys?

I don't think they're used to this level of confrontation.  BioWare has NEVER screwed up this bad before, so this has to be new for them.

EA shares still falling in the stock market. As if the hit they took from SW:TOR had not been enough, it just went down another 15% due to Mass Effect 3 customer's complaints.

Right now, given the choice between EA bankruptcy and a new Ending, I would go for the bankruptcy. It wouldn't give us (players) the satisfaction and closure we so much deserve, but at least it would serve as a warning for the other companies to never disregard the playerbase as EA/Bioware are doing right now...

One more thing. I think each of you have his/her own idea how this end would seem good. I hope you don't want that to Bioware creat endigs uniqe to each of your tastes..

I am pretty sure you have not read one thing on why we don't like it.

Any that don't involve space magic.

Any news?

Its not exactly news from Bioware or EA but this is a good article from forbes that really puts things in perspective www.forbes.com/sites/erikkain/2012/03/13/mass-effect-3-and-the-pernicious-myth-of-gamer-entitlement/. Everyone here should read this its a very good article that even touches on what the guy at IGN said.

For those that've been following, this is a NEW forbes article in addition to the one from a few days ago.

I'm OK with sad or bittersweet endings, even shocking ones (though I'd prefer the choice of a happy one, especially in a game series that has practically BOASTED about giving the gamer choices). I'm *not* OK with no logic though. This ending (cause it's really only one camouflaged as three) had no logic whatsoever. It was just bad writing. Which is so sad, because up to those last 5 minutes, it was great writing, and a great game, and I loved it to pieces.

Just my 5 cents.

 TOO MANY ENDINGS

Hmm ive always wondered if someone who is colorblind would tell the difference ><

ROFL.  "Which one do I walk to?"

When I got to the end, that was actually my thought. I took about 10 minutes on the web looking at the different endings cause I was completely confused as to what had just happened. Then got back to the game and forgot which path was which. Ended up picking synth by accident. Figured, "If I just walk straight maybe I'll get another dialogue cue."

Guess not.

^This. Everything right up until the end had me pumped. The hordes of reapers, depserately fighting our way through London.

Then after all that we get to pick between 3 bowls of vanilla ice cream with different sprinkles on them.

How about you read the entire thread. It'll give you a better understanding of what we want.

Namely, CLOSURE. And an ending that isn't  doom and gloom no matter how much you do to prevent it.

At that point I was in too much shock to notice much <_< I mean, seriously, my Shepard never would have picked any of them. Just shoot God-Kid in the face and take out the Reapers ourselves!

That forbes article is nice and stunningly unbiased as far as I can see. Its refreshing what with all the negativity coming from a lot of media and other gamers that what we say dosent matter either.

The end is a lie. I doubt the writers just went brain dead for the last 10 minutes of the game. The hallucination/indoctrination theory makes sense, especially since the "best" endings have Shep waking up back in London. There's either going to be DLC or another game.

Because to me the game was hyped up to the end with the whole fealing that "the crucible is gonna completly own the reapers and its going to be epic!" but instead i get space magic with sad/depressing music playing at the end? WTF?

Listening to this song over and over again actually seems to be helping me out of the sadness phase. I much have been in need of a good laugh.

So either they lied to us (new game) because ME3 was final Shepp game, conclusions etc. or they just trolled us and want more of our money (if you have to pay for a essential part of the game)

Having had a night to sleep on it, the tone deaf, derivative, and completely untrue to the series endings still suck, and I can't see playing an ME game again, I just feel to sick and betrayed. There is no excuse for this crap heap. My shep wouldn't have done any of those things and she wouldn't have accepted ultimatums from some flimsy man behind the curtain who's brief and circular explanation of the reapers was utterly nonsensical. What a disgrace.

Have you ever read a story by Andersen? The little Mermaid? She dies in the end.
