Not usually the type to get into these post but after how much time i spent on me2 even made sure i got all trophies and made sure my main char was all ready for 3. Love the entire game till the last 15 mins. Went with my li being Tali, and brought her on the mission and after those beams I thought got her and Garrus killed >.> . Then as went further to the 3 choice parts I just looked at them and said why would I control something that's been killing people my char knew when I pretty much told them I would end them, looked at the beam, why would my char do this. Look at the destroy. Felt like it was the only choice for my shep then saw the cut scene and said what, this makes no sense. wait Tali. What you doing on the normandy, wait why is it trying to run away o.O . That extra cut scene even of shep breathing was kinda good but he gonna be alone up there lol. That old man cut scene just made me face palm cause I was like that's it?! What bout my team, why is this my ending o.O. I reunited the geth and quarian just to kill them off and edi too. Bioware defiantly confused and got me lil mad on the ending. Just got to mars on my 2nd play through but now seeing myself going to multiplayer more than the single for now. I want lil more closure to that ending and lil better one, well not lil, a better one, wouldn't mind if they had bad, ok and good endings . As long as my choices made a impact on my ending and to know what happen to my crew. Actually wanted my ending to be with my li on her planet in a lil house xD. But also had other chars to see how their endings would be and looks like it all would be just same ending , different color and different li . Hope Bioware fixes this.

A conversation I just had with my sister (her - senior in a game design BA; me - MA student in English literature):
She pointed out that if this game had been released with a gamebreaker bug at the final push to the beam there would be no discussion at all that we are owed a correction for free. NONE. It would be a basic assumption that we were ripped off. EA/Bioware would be scrambling to put out fires and release a patch. But because the problem is on a narrative level instead of a technical one we're being ridiculed for "entitlement" and daring to question an artist's vision.

Now, obviously the quality of narrative is inherently more subjective than programming errors, but when 35 thousand people come forward about the endings in a single week there is a problem equal in magnitude to a gamebreaker. How many times have we heard "I'd like to see you write a better ending! You aren't a writer, so you can't judge!" (well, I'm a literary theorist and I most certainly can judge, but that's beside the point) just within the last two weeks? Now think of how many times you've heard "I'd like to see you build a game engine! You aren't a programmer, so you can't complain about these bugs!" in relation to a game. Never? Me neither.

People have wonky priorities. I find this narrative disaster far worse than if the game crashed during the Hammer push. ...I kinda wish it had just to spare me seeing that ending.

The end is a lie. I doubt the writers just went brain dead for the last 10 minutes of the game. The hallucination/indoctrination theory makes sense, especially since the "best" endings have Shep waking up back in London. There's either going to be DLC or another game.

I have to agree. It's totally incongruous. They put so much effort into the rest of ME3 (which I thought was a great job) and yet they totally phase out at the end? Too many inconsistencies in one place. it's looking more and more like BW are up to something. I hope I'm right and it's not just wistful thinking.

"Oh, blue rose of illium,"

I know they detail. I trust Bioware and I think they'll see this through. I've never pre-ordered a game before, especially not 7 months before it comes out. It was my act of good faith to Bioware.

So here's to hoping they don't break that.

It is quite obvious Boiware has received advice from a trouble-shooting PR firm. I follow politics and am very familiar with the trouble-shooting PR firms strategy - which is - wait it out and the uproar will die out on it's own. Just sit it out with no comment, very vague comment, or find a reason not to comment. Very sound strategy - outrage usually blows itself over in approximately two to three weeks - life itself forces folks to move on.

THIS is our challenge - are we so fickle as to allow this to just blow over and we all go back buying Bioware and EA all over again? Will we just fade away? Can we hold the line as long as it takes? THIS is our challenge!

I will fight this fight even if it takes me ten years - I will never stop demanding a better ending where my Sheppard and crew/L1 receives a chance at some happiness! And I will never buy another BW or EA product until this goal is achieved! PERIOD!

I think its not over, I never saw harbinger get killed in the end and since he is the strongest reaper (and probable the first) maybe he found some way to survive that final blast from the citadel. Im not sure but catalyst said "most" of the technology would be destroyed whats to say Harbinger, the king of reapers, didn't find some way around it. At the end when Joker and EDI get out of the ship, EDI is unscathed, the ship doors actually open without a fuss, and why wouldnt harbinger survive too. I mean Harbinger was probably built from the first galactic civilization to fall, that means Harbinger is the remenants of the species that created catalyst. I think Harbinger survives the end and catalyst somehow keeps shepard alive to finish the job. It wouldnt be outside of catalyst's abilities since he made the reapers and this ending would would work with the ones you chose. Just think Harbinger is probably millions of years old, I think he would have some time to find a way out of catalyst's control.

Aside from the BS ending you what else I'm really mad at? That stupid stock horrible photoshop image they gave us of Tali. We have been wanting to see her since ME1 and all we get is a terrible Photoshop and no effort put in (the perfect time to show her face should have been when she took her mask off on Rannoch. But NOOOOO that'd be to easy and would actually respcet the fans.)

Ok even if this is shepard being indoctrinated or whatever and the "true" ending is him taking that breath, this still is very sloppy on Biowares end.

The theory goes that if you chose to destroy the reapers, they could not complete the indoctrination and if there really was an expansion planned from the begining, it will continue from Shepard's breath.  The indoctrination took place in a dream state whilst he was knocked out in laying in rubble in London so none of it really happened.

As I said already if it was planned to be a 2 part game as a huge surprise, it would be one of the most amazing things ever but if that was the case I would have expected something indicating this.  If I had some kind of hint that the game was going to continue in an expansion (much much preferred to some short sh!tty DLC imho) it would have been breathtaking.

Again the more I think about it the more the indoctrination makes sense to me.  One thing I wondered when playing ME3 after realising early on that T.I.M had to be indoctrinated was how did Shepard avoid it all those years with all the contact he had with the Reapers and their minions?  All the exposure to multiple artifacts?  The Prothean beam we now know was not actually Prothean?  It would make sense.  Why oh why BioWare, if this is all true did you not tell us at the end?  If it was meant to end the way it did and Shep DID become indoctrinated, an epilogue telling us THAT would have been pretty fu**ing nice too.

The lead developer just retweeted someone bashing us.

Sigh. I don't mean that offensively, btw. Just bringing it to light.
