He and half the Scifie writers out there. ;-)

Actually, I no longer care... an ending is an ending... for better or for worse.

What happens to the Normandy is AWFUL. It feels like they decided on the flash forward to the "old guy telling his grandson a story" frame first and tied it to the players' favorite characters by foisting a terrible fate on the Normandy crew. What I already posted elsewhere regarding the Normandy's fate:
****
Seriously, did they think about the implications of this ending and go through with it anyway? About Tali and Garrus probably facing starvation? Would Liara still be around for the epilogue if she didn't off herself in despair? Did they force the lesbian communications specialist to get pregnant by a man to keep the gene pool as diverse as possible, and did they force the gay pilot to have sex with a woman? Did they want the players who romanced Ashley or Kaidan to think about them having babies with someone else on the Normandy? About Tali and Garrus being neuters in servitude of a human colony for the rest of their miserable lives? About nobody on the ship being able to see their familes again, or the alien crew never being able to see someone else of their own species again? Wouldn't the crew descend into the madness of isolation over time instead of forming a viable colony? Whether BioWare thought all this out or not, it's so frigging perverted and evil that I just don't want to play the third game now at all.

Jesus, it's like the Hugo Gernsback crash except without the stupefying plants to dull the pain of violation and helplessness. This is sick.
****

So...yuck, nasty, no thanks, etc. I'd be okay with an ending where the relays get destroyed but the Normandy crashes on Earth, or maybe Titan or whatever and they set up a distress call and are picked up later. Cue a similar epilogue set on (varying degrees of destroyed?) Earth, where the dialogue could pretty much work - the stuff about wanting to explore space and revering Shepard. But maybe here we could also get a bigger picture by showing aliens present with the humans, stranded but able to sustain their own communities (just headcanon something about making dextro food) and living in peace with humans, in a "we're all stuck here, but we're not alone and we can work together" kind of ending. Could have potential whether you merged or not.

The german game review said that the game ended with no lose ends. Isn't the normandy crew off on some random planet stranded along with your LI a lose end?

Not if they cut to the future after the credits, implying that your non-human teammates have starved to death and showing a bunch of inbred humans sitting around a fire with their kids clamoring to hear about "The Shepard" again.

I always wondered why the reapers just didnt pretend they were friendly , and come to the galaxy bearing gifts of technology for the races. Then land ships on each planet and just start the indoctrination process.

why all the drama?

The end for the SR 2 and her crew with out Shepard . Is not even logical or right at all. if you are a Garrus and Tali fan you should o the right thing and have them die in 2 . at least they have a honorable death and one where they fight for something .

Dude, my canon Shep romanced Garrus, maybe I should go back and undo it just to save him the extra distress!

edit: and so his hand won't waver when he puts the gun in his mouth on that damn planet because everything is hopeless to him.  jeez.

I'm seriously hoping that it's possible to simply not recruit Tali and leave her with her people. I won't get to fight alongside her in-game and she'll still be stranded on the other end of the universe at the end, but at least she'll be with her people and won't face starvation.

Isn't this quite a hard trolling?

I look at it this way: I get a longer gaming experience (with what is apparently the biggest script of the three games), the chance to carry over everything from my previous game (armor, weapons, characters and all), the plot (from what I've already seen) features appearances from just about every main and supporting character (even in the novels), there's a much heavier emphasis on Shepard's thoughts and feelings regarding what he's doing, better character development, a sense of melancholy (according to the leaked script), and while I'll probably be irked that the Normandy is left on some planet, half the crew are one-shot new characters anyway - I won't have that much attachment to them.

And sometimes I think it should've been just a shooter, without having to care about your squadmates.

Why bother having romance too?

Let's just drop a kid here and there dying though, need the emotion.

That and "You expected sunshine and bunnies?!". It's like everyone who likes those endings and I mean everyone is using that exact saying.

Where's the meme pic?

It's not that people think it's a dating sim, more we get attached to those we interact the most with in game, perhaps your play through, you & jack are lovers, Garrus is your best friend & then all this happens.

You'd be happy camper?  With 0 options to at least get 1 one good(True Good) ending.  Even if you have to do every miniscule side quest & talk to every person you see, at least their is that option.

Not wanting all of our Squadmates to end up alone and isolated in the middle of nowhere (and potentially starve) = wanting a Dating Sim?

Oh I want Bioware to suffer for what they have done with this game . I have no issue with a sad ending so long as the ending and story have a purpose . But dam this story and ending have no purpose

It'll have to a prequel, because the Galaxy is screwed after ME3. Shep should have just let the Cycle continue.
