I didn't get the chance to put my two cents in earlier...

Anyway, my experience with the ending was a little bit of confusion. Prior to Mass Effect 3 coming out, if you saw the hints in Mass Effect 2 and Retribution, I had a feeling the final battle was going to be with the Illusive Man. When I saw him there with Anderson, I was stoked that there would be a battle with Anderson and I with TLM. But I kinda got disappointed that we didn't get to fight, it was just a conversation battle with him. In any case, I was like ok, there must be more.

When I saw the Catalyst present me with three choices, I was very confused as to what I should do. I just went for the synthetic ending as it seems like the best, but now even for my paragon shepard, I think Renegade endings are best, as they destroy the Reapers. However, they destroy the memory of Legion and the Geth, which really annoyed me. Legion sacrificed himself to create a peace with the Geth and Quarians and then a few hours later it was for nothing. That really showed me the team did not have a end plan here.

If there is dlc or patch by Bioware I hope they fix it according to this:
- have a final battle with someone (Harbinger or TLM or both)
- don't destroy the mass relays (you can't have Mass Effect without Mass Relays)
- have a happy ending with LI
- show some sort of ending that shows what happens to the Turians, Batarians, Krogan, Asari, Salarians, Quarians/Geth (be good to show how they evolved together on Rannoch), the council, Earth, squad-mates according to the choices you made throughout the three games. Similar to DA:O ending
- Give some better options with the Catalyst (I heard the idea of refusing what the Catalyst says, maybe thats where you have your final boss fight...)

These are just some ideas, some ideas I have taken from other community members. I have rarely posted on here and I have been a fan of Mass Effect since it came out in 2007, read the novels. It was a great story up until the last 10 mins.

I know Bioware can fix this. Sometimes, being humble as a company and admitting a failure can do a lot to restore brand image and show your trying to fix a problem can also help too. I hope Bioware and EA can see this...

Maybe we should shift our argument to "Give us the SDK" so we can fix it ourselves. Already a bunch of better written scripts all over the forum, just need a couple talented people. :D

Funny the first picture in this article shows the books: "Choose your own adventure". Kinda ironic.

Seems to just be ignoring the fact that you can't choose your own ending.

So not only has Bioware screwed the ending, but they are also being insulting toward their customers.

Perfect. Let's cancel that swtor subscription now.

Edit: Subscription canceled and I added a comments when doing it, mentioning Mass Effect 3 and how insulting Bioware was in handling that issue. They don't get any money from me anymore.

Way ahead of ya

@CGaspur: An amazing article about the ending of Mass Effect 3 and how it has affected fans for the better or worse:

I like how all the comments under this supposedly amazing article panned Kucher into a bloody pulp with reasonable arguments.

and thats how it should be. tell them the fundamental issues on why we are not content with the ending as is. nice going folks

Hold the line!!!

I guess the only way if to continue this protest for as long as possible. If this crapstorm continues, they will be forced to do something about that.

Don't get me wrong. I don't like this ending, too. I played ME and ME 2 too long, that I getting satisfied with such an  explanation, but its the only way  that can clear why many details not matching.

It's one theory; there are many. People also say everything after you get hit with Harbinger's laser is a dream. That the only real thing about the endings is Shep waking up in concrete rubble, and more will be forthcoming in a DLC. If that's the case, well, I'm glad that AI-god-child-thing wasn't real, as its choices were stupid, and my Shep would never have agreed to any of them, but I'm also disappointed that I was sold a game without an ending. If that is true, I would feel like I've been punked.

To those, who just didn't like our rage towards an ending and call us whinners;

rephrasining J. Baldwin: I love Mass Effect more than any other game in the world, and, exactly for this reason, I insist on the right to criticize it's ending perpetually.

I wonder when they are planning on releasing a statement... perhaps they are simply trying to wait it out... regardless, we can still discuss it here.

I do not understand how or why Bioware seems to be taking the "everything is rosy" approach to this. How can they possibly point to articles in their favour for evidence, while completely ignoring irate fans? It seems to me that a game company should care more about the people buying their product than the people writing about it.

Two sides to the war, one side the "critics" that don't seem to mention the ending ever. and the users that are very disappointed.

Honestly, I think the whole entitlement buzzword is apt.  But where it should be applied is "developer entitlement".  Where they can do no wrong and contemplate the artistic qualities of the mass-produced consumer product they make regardless of how it is received by the consumers.  If the consumers don't "get it" then you don't get a job.

The thing that works an always works is voting with your wallet(EA's plan? Possibly)
So we'll probably get DLC or patch. If we fork up the money, they'll do it no problem, IF we fork up the money. It always works, happened to Firefly, happened to Family Guy, and it will probably happen to this.

I'm starting to grow tired of this =/ I wonder how long we can keep it up... I'm starting to feel really depressed... once again.
I can see Bioware telling us "You didn't understand it! it was like this... and that..." or even worse they could pick up the indoctrination theory the forums nicely created and say it was their idea from the start...

Ah the cheesiness... the three colours... Even after reading all the possible outcomes (the 16 "shades" of colour) I can't feel any better...

Some people say we all just want the Hollywood cliche' ending... I think we already got it, even tragic/bad endings can be a cliche', not only happy ones... I've seen better endings than this on anime of the lowest quality... The story sounds like something foolish people who want to feel/look smart may come up with...

I feel wounded inside... Just leave me behind... I'll curl up in a corner and die, you all go on =_=

Not to incite anger or a lets boycott bioware rage or anything I am just curious as to how many of you are planning on getting the datapad app for the ios when it launches or the new multiplayer stuff?

Why should I? the last three days since completing the game I follow this threat, instead of playing ME3 like I thought it would happen. there is no point to the app...
