So we can't get the ending we want after all?

The only thing I took out of this ending was sheer anger and wrath about the guys who made this, also including the ones who said "Okay lets to this and you will all get paid for this, for programming this ending." That's what I don't get. That this ending just could sift through.

Well the Reapers were right. We really couldn't comprehend. *sigh*Wolfgang_Ocelot wrote...
Sadly it seems the staff at Bioware want to sit on their hands and not answer our questions about why they did this to us. So far all we get is them saying we aren't smart enough to comprehend an ending that made no sense.

How is it that this gaming series to looked to be inspired so much by babylon 5 suddenly crash an burn at the very end? Heck, even with the space wizard you could have had a dialogue like this: and have a much better ending.
Aaaand from that clip comes the only correct choice for the ending of ME3 as it stands: "But what if the right choice it not to choose at all?"

If you didnt understand me. Our choices for like the krogan had some effect, but we havnt been told what. That is a problem according to me. That is also what i want changed and think we deserve changed. A longer ending telling us what happend.
The space kid I dont love or hate, I dont think it is a huge plothole, havnt seen anyone really stating one either, sure it comes out of nowhere but that is not the same as a plothole. I can agree that I dont think it fits 100% to the ME theme but its up to the writers. It is this part I think is spoiled. To demand something change and saying bioware/EA are evil because you don't like the endings story is spolied.
That we don't get to see what your choices led to in the end is not spoiled. Its something every story should tell and also what they promised..
I am not demanding, I am requesting. There is a difference.
There are far too many things that absolutely do not make sense.
The Normandy tries to escape the energy beam. So I'm wondering why? And then I'm wondering: Why do the green and blue beams also destroy the Normandy?
Why are my crew members who were just next to me on the battleground on the ship now? Why would they even want to flee from earth? How is that possible? They must have decided to do so right after Shepard started running towards the beam that could get him/her into the Citadel. The Crucible's powers spread with faster-than-light speed so there is not really enough time to get on board after it had already been triggered.
I'll stop here, you should get the idea.
Concluding this, Shepard's crew remaining on earth, this could actually have led to a rather happy ending when choosing to destroy the reapers. The crew would still be together and when you gathered enough troops Shepard would also have been alive, his crew searching and rescuing him (ignoring that fact that Shepard wasn't alive, all synthetic life has been destroyed, including some of his body parts, as mentioned by the Catalyst).
It's interesting how some people say that some happiness for Shepard unacceptable. Here we are again, choice. Those who think that Shepard should sacrifice himself for the galaxy, that shall be it. But presenting us with no other option is poor, IMHO.

again you fail to see the point that even if it is a game, it's a 64+ dollar investment where we want our monies worth. When we invest hours upon hours of time into something (whether it be games, music, hobbies, whatever) we expect the outcome to make sense. With entertainment media we expect the ending to make sense, and to conclude it. Mass effect did not do this, we wanted all lose ends tied up and for our characters decisions to justify the end. If Shepard dies then at least let it be in a blaze of glory, not some ill attempt to make sheppard break characters and suicide just to doom the galaxy again.
You're being very close minded and typical about it. We beat your argument now you insult us by saying we need sunlight and whatnot. A lot of us have lives thankyou very much, but our social standings are not part of the problem here. And your ill attempt to insult us by doing so is very childish and unamusing. get out.

The irony is just laughable.
Someone on an internet forum dedicated to an RPG (made by a company with heavy D&D influnes) telling someone else to go outside and get some sun.
There's a kettle and a pot of a certain color that comes to mind.
Also you seem to have over looked the major plot holes.
Explain how squad members made it from 10 meters from the citadel portal to the other side of a galaxy in 2 minutes please?
Artistic vision is one thing, read the thread before posting nonsensical drivel and insulting what is not even now a small group.
You liked the ending, great you are entitled to that, much as many tens of thousands are entitled not to.

I'll do it. Just can you give two screenshots:
— global galaxy map (with reapers stand vertical)
— sector map with normandy in it
I just deleted my ME3 (i was VERY angry) and don't want to install it again.
Thanks

At over 5000, we have an effective galactic readiness score enough to
show Shepard breathing. I wonder how much we'd have to raise to show
someone pulling him out of the rubble and going off to destroy the
Reapers?

I'm only gonna post the ones where the Collector Base is destroyed as this is the default one when you don't import a different ME2 save.
If your readiness is below 1,750 earth will bestroyed no matter what you choose.
At 1,900 if you choose to destroy the reapers earth will still be there but devestated
At 2,350 earth will be saved should you choose to become a reaper
At 2,650 earth will be saved if you destroy the reapers
At 2,800 Readiness you get the option to create the synergy, saving earth and the galaxy
At 4,000 if you choose to destroy the reapers and "saved" Anderson Shepard lives
At 5,000 if you choose to destroy the reaprs and did not save Anderson Shepard lives
There is also a bonus mentioned here:
"There is a special reward available only to players who hae imported a save from Mass Effect 2 with the Prejek Paddle Fish purchased by Commander Shepard. If the Prejek Paddle Fish survives through all of Mass Effect 3 and Mass Effect 3 New Game Plus, visit Liara's quarters aboard the Normandy for a very special intel bonus!"
Neither do I know what the Intel bonus is nor do I know if I bought the fish and if it survied through all of Mass Effect 3.
What I know is that I can't bring myself to play it again as of now. If a brave soul can do this maybe?

This original Mass Effect trilogy could of been PERFECT! , with almost unlimited replayability for all tiiiiiiiiime! - (add echo and reverb), - but it and all of our invested love is all invalidated with that ending.
No not only will I never see Liara's and Shepard's child, but I will not know the future of the Krogan, or indeed if or how any of the other species survived.
Technological stone age or betrayal of morality, death and loss of all I've been striving for over five years?.
Sorry but thats a really crappy ending to the most promising Sci-Fi IP of the 21st century.
Please fix this Bioware/EA and help your fans secure Mass Effects legacy going forwards.

The Games are, reduced to it's very basic characteristic, a product, just like a car or a book. So if I am not satisfied with a product I bought (ignition not working or last 30 pages of a book missing, to stay with the examples), some people here want to tell me you don't want it fixed? You just go on happy with your life with a useless car or a book missing the end? Really?
So even if this was the intended ending of a (if not THE) best Games I ever player, I have the right to say that I don't like it. Just as you have the opinion to say you liked it. End of story. I hate that society always preaches tolerance, it's even in all parts of Mass Effect, but some people still don't get it and want to tell other people what they should think, how to act and so on.

I always thought Shep would die, just had a feeling, so I wasn't too suprised that was a possible outcome. What did shock me is there is only 1 outcome where Shep "survives". What was a real kick in the teeth was the options. It seems like a giant mess compared to everything else.
(I don't plays games often, this is one of the only series I've ever felt emotionally attached to, and as amazing as I thought the 3rd game was, the ending felt so out of place It's ruined the experience somewhat).
I'm hoping the it was a hallucination of sorts, as Christ knows how Javik and Liara (my final team) somehow got from pottentially being Harbinger-Lasered to death, to being perfectly fine on the Normandy. And then they're all stranded on a planet with a broken ship, and no Relays to get home (from what I gathered), so even if my Shep survives, no more friends, and no Blue Babies
I chose the 'best ending' (7500ish Assets, 90% Readyness, so was over the threshold) and destroyed the Synthetics (what did EDI and AI Geth do to anyone!), then like I said, I had a WTF moment seeing Liara and Javik come off the Normandy (I was sure they were dead), then Shep suddenly Breathes... Which after looking back doesn't make sense to me either. The place looks a hell of a lot like Earth, and If It is still the Citadel, How did Shep survive the Disintegration after the Crucible firing and/or it's possible re-entry into the atmosphere.
Then there's the fact the Catalyst clearly states Shep is part synthetic... So shouldn't chosing the option I did destroy Shep's organs?
I am honestly hoping there will be some DLC to clear this up (I can't see them revising the ending no matter what people do). I actually like the fact there was something controlling the Reapers, and It's reasons are flawed but did make a little bit of sense. I just wish there was a 'Happier' ending option. A combination of 16 'Bad' and 'Bittersweet' endings if just... Sad
Anyways, apologies for rambling, I haven't read a massive amount of the threads on this topic, just wanted to add my thoughts to it. - Thanks for reading.

There's another thing I find ironic... people calling us trolls/whiny entitled ****s/irrational fans are actually the whiny irrational trolls... for the most part we are being completely calm and reasonable about this. If our logic is so offensive to these people maybe it's time they took a long hard look at themselves in the mirror...

Thats a great compilation, could also add a few great responses that answer the same questions or arguments that keep popping up (ex: comparing the ending to a book.)
Thanks, I know how dumbfounded I was after the game, and immediately started looking around for news/info/reactions after I finished my playthrough. Wading through pages and pages of posts was daunting. One of the people who started this thread actually had a list of things that mentions why we are doing this. (Inconsistency between normandy in relay warp vs present during the last batlle.... etc)
I'll see if I can find it again and add it to my post. Im hoping its ok to repost the whole thing every couple of pages or so, just to keep everyone updated on what news/links are popping up.
