Here's what stuck with me, after the rage passed:
Why is there no option for Shepard, as either renegade or defiant defender of the galaxy, to tell the space odyssey star child to go jump off a cliff? To take this garbage cycle and shove?

And then Shepard shoots the starchild in face. Why isn't that or something similar an option? Sounds way more in character eh?

Yea, they did: Even though BioWare already pushed back the release date, EA forced them to release now. Because Kinect and multiplayer have been deemed more important, they fixed that in the remaining time... leaving the ending kinda hanging half finished.

Ok, for those of you you don't think Shep was dreaming/hallucinating/reacting to indoctrination, one question.

If the end sequence was real, just how did Anderson get inside the Citadel when at the beginning of the scene(when Shep first gets up) the radio chatter was clear that they were retreating because NO ONE MADE IT TO THE BEAM. Also, Anderson was an officer, not a front line foot soldier.

Yes. But as I said before. I don't think it's good to release an incomplete game. Something that needs a DLC to be "explained" or continued. A DLC should add content, but not alter or complete a "complete game on its own".

And it absolutely should NOT be a cliffhanger to a ME4 without giving you all the details about Shep on the game you payed for before. This is not a TV series that you can be put on hold to build tension. You buy a complete package. Or should be made known that you are not buying a complete game. And that sorry excuse for an ending, if it turns out not to be "the end", proves that it was not a complete game on its own. So, it´s very bad that this can happen.

I will choose to believe that the whole 2001 ending is just part of some Grand Overarching Plan that's part of their idea that Shepard became a legend, and something else is in the works.  Meanwhile I'll be over here wibbling in a corner.

Tangentally, I *did* think to myself many times during gameplay: it's a damn shame this is the end of a trilogy 'cause they've really synthesized [heh] everything excellent about the first two games, with some old-school RPG elements as well, and the mechanics and systems ingame are too good to waste.  I hope to see them in future Bioware titles.
