I'm with you 100%.  After putting up with Infamous 2, FF13-2, and Dances with Dragons this year, I need something at least remotely uplifting.  I mean... the most uplifting game I've played in months was Deadily Premonition... Bleh.

Give me a break and let me have a bittersweet ending, Bioshock!  Even the "perfect" ending sounds just plain bitter.

At least my Nord hero defeated Alduin and got to live happily with his wife in Solitude, Bethsda know how to give good endings: leave it all up to the players imagination.

Remember the reaction to FO3's ending? It was bittersweet and you weren't forced to do it anytime soon, but there was a massive uproar.

It's the same, except you are railroaded toward the end and it is just bitter.

F3 had the most contrived version of the "heroic sacrifice" trope I've ever seen.

"Hey Fawkes, mind heading into that room for 30 seconds and flipping a switch?  The radiation probably won't affect you at all."

"I would, but this is your destiny! . . . Or something."

Fans were absolutely right to get pissed off.

I could bear my FemShep and Garrus having sex through a hole in a sheet while wearing thermal underwear while the camera pans away to the fish tank if it would save him from his fate at the end of the game.

Maybe the Kubler-Ross model doesn't work with videogames.

I'm in the acceptance stage, I am still pissed off but I feel like there's nothing we can do and BioWare won't change anything so I might aswell just accept that the ending to the trilogy isn't that good and that ME1 and 2 was a big waste of time :)

^Same here

Oh I be dammed Fallout 3's Ending was just as bad . Fallout fans all but forced Zenimax to make a ending replacement dlc for that game . So it can be changed we just have to hammer Bioware about their bull sh

Read up a few posts; this is much worse. You didn't have to do the ending at all, and it was bittersweet.

This is way worse

And the person who has been leaking info has said that the sex scenes are ME 1 style? As I believe was mentioned in this thread or another one.

As it hasn't been stated in the quoted post, that was from the BBC certification and it clashes with what the leak has said.

frankly no one gives a crap about sex . when the only real romance in this game is if you banged the ones from ME 1 any  way . your LI is not with you at the end so it does not matter and plus you never see her again

No-one gives a crap? Way to speak for everyone. I don't give a crap personally myself, either.

What I'm saying is the link I edited in contradicts the ME 1 sex scene, as the space edition owner has said the scenes are ME 1 like. Skin etc. was shown in those scenes, even if it wasn't much.

No Nudity! oh the inhumanity!:crying:

It's not about inhumanity. It's the fact that it contradicts with what the leaks and Xio, a user who played the space edition, said. Also, if there isn't any nudity and sexual activity, then it shows that Bioware is still scared of Fox news.

Hold on a sec.

Nudity with partial nudity as well?
Because there are underwear models ingame...

And the fact that Xio said that the romance scenes are like ME1 when he played his space edition.

I'm definitely still in the denial stage.  I haven't accepted this as fact.  I'm still holding out hope that this at the very least isn't the whole story.  I have to.  I have to think like that.  Otherwise I will get to this stage:

I agree with this its not really the ending its the fact you are railroaded into it each ending leave you dead or cut of from your li and crew

I would not be so upset if there was an ending were you are also on the ship and not just cut off on earth or dead

plus what ever bioware say about future mass effect games with no relays how can  you have a game when you cannot leave your own planet

 Well, delurking for a moment.

I'm one of those few lucky people who only discovered the Mass Effect Universe quite recently (thanks to my brother). But in this short time I have grown very attached to my Sheps. I always figured the end of ME3 would be... hard. I feel very disappointed when reading the endings. I'm happy for those who like the endings, I just wish I could be one of them.

If at least Shep would end up with the Normandy (what in the world possessed Joker/EDI to leave Shep alone anyway??? And ... that cross breeding scenario? ), no matter where - this would be my ending. I don't mind the other endings. Hell, on my first play through I screwed up the Suicide Mission :innocent:.

I was prepared to work hard, very hard, to have one Shep alive and happy with his LI. But this? No, thank you very much.

Which leaves me with the following thoughts:
Why romance someone? My Sheps are still single. No way I'll put the LI through that anguish!
Why should I bother to get my readiness level up?
Why bother importing mp chars? (love mp, having a blast there)
Why bother with upcoming DLCs and spend more money on it?
Why should I replay it again for such an end?
Now I don't even need to buy the books/comics, it's just not worth it anymore. Same for the iOS game.

For all I know I'll just do the following (Won't cancel my CE):
play until the last mission, hit save, don't bother with any readiness and just leave my Shepards sitting happily on their Normandy, thinking 'Screw this.' And maybe just start again.

There is a glimmer of hope though. Maybe we get another ending as day 1 patch (my brother hopes that, I doubt it though). Or maybe this is just a giant PR-gag.....

For those saying it's war, it's about sacrifice etc. You are right. But think about it, no matter which end and where Shep ends up (even if Shep would end up with the team). The galaxy lies burning in ashes, millions of lives are lost. That is war.
Oh and.. why should I now buy any other possible Mass Effect game? I'd rather go and buy The Sims instead . Oh yeah.. Import your ME Squad into your Sims game.. and live happily after.

Sorry for the length and random ramblings

I refuse to accept this when this can be so easily fixed. I ca only hope people are as willing to fight for this as I am. If enough people complain, then like Fallout, they will fix it.

I'm not trying to cling onto any hope at all. I'm taking the wait and see approach. The endings, whether they are sunshine and rainbows or doom and gloom, do not bother me in the slightest. Again, they do not bother me.

I am simply saying that a source contradicts what people have been told by the space edition owner.

Edit: And forgive me if I do not quote anymore. That was a wall of quotes. ;)

Oh, you're right, it *is* far less contrived. But I would take a contrivered ending where Shepard defeats the Reapers with a computer virus over this. Or using a half stick of butter. Or by punching them repeatedly.

Or anything.

If those endings really turn out to be true for me on March 9, I will know that BW just screwed up whole series, think about, they were so close to perfect series, but instead Shepard being with his crew and then landing somewhere, god known where, we get those 3 f*ucked choices, what's this, Deus Ex HR all over agian????
