My Shepard's face loaded jus fine.

Well, I hope mine will as well, when I get the full game. If that is not the case, I know that the workaround does not work, and I'll rage.

meh .. considering that, at least initially, one of the big selling points was the continuity through 3 games ... :(
.
Also as much as I'd like it, I can't think that there is going to be a quick fix to this. If anything will be done at all.

SO, can someone please tell me how to post pics? I really wanna everyone see what I got

I upload them on the tinypic, and it provides you with a copy-paste forum image code.

again, this
is not this

i'd be happy with that though,  looks like she put some makeup on thats it.

Well, the second one is ME1 import with too heavy makeup which I couldn't change without starting from scratch. And it make look A BIT similar on the stills, but it's really a whole different face in-game.

And I won't be happy with this look.

Also, BioWare stuff pretending they don't see a 100 page thread is quite ridiculous.

Reapers hacked the face reconstruction app?

But seriously, that is unacceptable. As a long term serious fan beeing affected by this I will wait until this issue is resolved. (I will never be able to recreat her the same way. Took me ages until I was satisfied!)

Did some actually get pop ups about face code? I did not, it just gave the old Jane looking option.

My Shepard in ME2:

I had issues importing, so I opened up ME2 again, played with the sliders, and got a code that I typed into ME3, getting this:

Image IPB

Wtf. That is so not my Shepard. Wtf.

Got a question. How can you view your face code on Mass Effect 2 with a ME1 imported character? I can't seem to find that anywhere on the game, because I want to use that face code on Mass Effect 3, then edit it best I can to make it right.

...I don't have the game yet, getting it later today.

...But I have to comment on how absolutely shocking it is to see the ME3 face shots alongside the ME2 ones. The ME2 faces look *better.* Much, much better, in fact. The ME3 faces look ME1 quality graphically, maybe even worse aesthetically.
I wonder why that'd be. You think it'd be easy to at least bring back ME2's quality.

You can't. You either have to follow the workaround provided in the OP, or try to recreate your Shepard in ME2 then take that new face code into ME3 (although you might as well just recreate him/her in ME3 if you have the game now).

They responded to a Facebook thread saying they're going to pass the info along. www.facebook.com/masseffect/posts/267537799988277

That is flat out disgusting. It's an issue they couldn't have possibly of missed and had to of known about at least since testing began, it's happens to every full series import, again no possible way it could of been missed.
Saying they are passing the info on is full out BS and a insult to their customers intelligence.

The thing is they must have known about the issue with importing faces or they wouldn't have programed in an error message to pop-up on screen when it occured.

Yeah. I think I'd rather ME3 just did some kind of direct port-over headmorph of the ME2 import that's set in stone and couldn't be altered than the BS we're having to put up with now. Even if I couldn't tweak or even change to the admittedly superior hair in ME3, at least it would still be my Shepard.

You can't, actually... it's a bit annoying.  I started up ME2 again and imported my character, but wasn't able to tweak that face, so then I took reference screenshots at every angle and created a new one that looked exactly like the old, from which I was able to get the code.  Which... didn't really help in making my ME3 Shep look like my ME2 one.  :-/

^ I agree. There is that sense of realism in ME2 Shepard's facial apperance that looks almost like a genuine model in real life. ME3 Shepard has lost that sense of realism and looks very much like a subpar cartoon animated character.

I was shocked to see that my ME2 imported Shepards looks exactly the same as the default custom female Shepard in the full game, as well as in Demo.

There is absolutely NO improvements from the demo. Aside from the depressed little variations of the ME3 story ending, I've lost my interest in playing the game after character creation failure until BW fix the problem in a patch by using the raw data instead of face code translation.

QFT

They knew it and decided no to do a thing about it.
Let's hope the reason they haven't said anything yet is that they are working on it....
