You can't import a face created in Mass Effect 1 into 3! Bioware has responded! (See OP)

The problem with that is when you open the editor you start from scratch. It won't allow you to make even small changes to your import as it just discards it when you open the CC. (I wanted to update my female Shepard's hair from ME1 to ME2 but it wouldn't allow me. Women change their hair from time to time!!)MatrixTheRenegade wrote...
So.... would importing an ME1 character into ME2, opening the editor or whatever during the lazarus project thing but not making any changes, then accepting the face... then beating ME2... fix the problem?
God that sounded more and more unappealing the longer I went on but it's all I've got.
You're kidding[. I could have sworn someone told me there was an option just to lightly edit an ME1 face.
Well, then, what the hell, man. I'm trying to not be one of the complainers but even being willing to replay ME2 all the **** over again when I literally just finished it a week ago just to have my character apparently isn't enough. I've got nothing. I guess I'll start complaining in the morning, or something. Unless we hear something about a patch or whatever.
What I want to know is if people were clamoring for answers/a fix/a patch a week ago, or if the real crapstorm started after the actual launch. That's going to define where it's understandable to be cynical and where you're just being irrational.
he was wrong, he essentially barely edited one of the default faces and this is why he didn't notice the mistake first.
I worry over my own Marius Shepard.(pics here social.bioware.com/44707/albums/889010), took some good effort to make a decent/good face with ME1 editor and keep it, hearing that some facial options or facial shape is not even in ME3 what was once in ME1, I fear I may be unable to recreate it properly.

This problem takes me back to the suggestion by Bioware few weeks back: "Hey this is really crazy idea but don't import your shepard's the first time around kk?"
That was Chris' post.
I won't attribute it to this.

Doesn't look quite so crazy now "Do us a favour and don't import your Shepards until we get all our day one sales out of the way. K? Thanks. ;)"

I started ME3 with my import and my shepard's face looks fine, no issues. Are you sure the Day 1 patch didn't fix the problem?
I installed the patch and it didn't help.

Not saying it has anything to do with the actual problem, the import problem is just so sad if it all turns out to be true. Hope it gets fixed then

Seriously, I don't think I've ever posted on an official game forum before, but I'm doing so now just to express how pissed I am about this issue. this is a pretty glaring oversight and completely ruins the sense of immersion of the game.[/quote]
Yeah, I don't want to play the game as Mark Vanderloo.

Is this how you say "Thank you!" to people supporting you since 2007?
BTW are you novices in making games? Why didn't you check one of the key features of the series???

For Bioware: Money > old fans
It is getting more obvious with each new game they make.

(to be fair, some of them are "fairly close" and could be seen as just an upgraded version with bells on, also one of these days I shall learn to screenshot games)

I suspect they are too busy rolling in a sea of cash to bother fixing a game-ruining bug like this (which never should have existed in the 1st place) for their fans
