The most hilarious part is that it tells you to recreate your Shepard's appearance without giving you the options to do so. Best case scenario, my Shepard will look like she suffered a severe allergic reaction to the dye she used on her hair.

OK this is a bummer, but it might be solved with a wee bit of creativity; why not just take a screen grab or close up photo of your Shepard from ME2 and use it as template to adjust the face profile editor. Aye its a wee bit of work, but i reckon a really good result might be achieved. Any inaccuracies could be written off as age etc..

We shouldn't have to, that's just it.  We shouldn't have to jump through 30 different flaming hoops in order to import our character, which is (like I said earlier) a fundamental feature of the franchise.

From what I've read, ME1 had options/assets that didn't exist in 2 (which is why no facecode is generated for a 1->2 face import), so clearly, they have the capacity to allow for the importing of faces that you can't natively generate, so why the issue here?

It's especially lousy that so far, we're either getting dead silence, or being told to just suck it up because it's "not a big deal, just re-create!".  It IS a big deal.  Recreated Shep is not MY Shep.  I've tried.  They don't come out looking the same.  If it doesn't look the same, it doesn't feel the same, and it breaks immersion and my ability to enjoy the game, because I'm constantly fixated on the fact that Shep doesn't look right.

If this is never fixed, I'll need to remake my adept, who's eyes are purple. The brown eyed vanguard I have will be fine though. One sucky part about consoles, I can't just alter my save to make my ME1 adept's eyes different, no, I have to remake a whole new character. *sigh*

Is this true? You get the message, that your face couldn't be imported but you have no option to create a new face?

What ratzerman is saying is that they tell you to recreate the face, but the options that were available back then aren't available now so its literally impossible to perfectly recreate the face.

so assuming you didn't go too crazy with the editor, theres a chance your ME1>ME2>ME3 import will work.

a few people have said "it worked ok for me"  but then disappeared without leaving any real detail.

I somehow got a facecode for my ME1 Shepard in ME2 which I used in ME3. In the squad screen he looks fine, in the game though he is purple and yellow blotchy skinned. He looks like has a skin diseaser or got a severe kicking. He has big yellow marks on the back of his head.

It's because ME3 is importing appearance totally ass-backwards - rather than importing the raw data it's just grabbing the face code that won't work entirely even for characters made in ME2. It boggles the mind.

Well until this is fixed, ME3 gets a whopping 0/10 score from me(I won't be reviewing it on a website, don't worry about it).

This is a legitimate deal breaker. I refuse to play this game until this gets rectified, and it damn well better get rectified.

Fast.

Wow this is really slack on Bioware/Ea's part.

Not surprising though. Devs have been pretty quiet on any kind of substantial thread, on the 'Will The FOV be Adjustible (PC)' thread some people were actually feeling ill from playing the demo. I think there was one response from a Dev to get a wider screen Image IPB

I suppose when I get my PC N7 CE game I'm going to have to spend ages getting my FemShep to look how she was in ME1 & ME2Image IPB

What makes this suck harder is that I have the soundtrack(thanks to the CE) but I won't listen to it until AFTER I beat the game, which I can't do because I won't PLAY the game in the first place.

Goddamn.

No problem...your Shep just strongly reminded me of her. Good luck with "recreating" her

The only thing that keeps my frustration level someone lower is the fact that I already resigned to the fact that I won't be able to play the 2 playthroughts that I value the most due to Origin and PC :(
