Someone at Bioware is reading this right now. I know it.

What makes this suck harder is that I have the soundtrack(thanks to the CE) but I won't listen to it until AFTER I beat the game, which I can't do because I won't PLAY the game in the first place.

Goddamn.

My advice:

Go to Youtube and listen to "Two Steps from Hell" (I assume you know them from the ME trailers).
Thats epic soundtrack-like music.

I already do. Listen to their tracks, I mean. Not just them but other related orchestral stuff.

Not gonna help in this case.

The worst part is that I get the feeling they are reading all of this but just refuse to say anything.

This silence is horseapples.

The only thing that keeps my frustration level someone lower is the fact that I already resigned to the fact that I won't be able to play the 2 playthroughts that I value the most due to Origin and PC :(

You should be able to unless the saves just don't exist anywhere. You can get x360 saves to your PC and you can download ME1 / ME2 saves that made the same choices you did. The face is the one thing that there is currently no way to get right if you made it in ME1.

Oh, of course they are - I've seen edited posts that make it clear that they've been keeping an eye on this thread.

Every second that goes by without a response from Bioware, my patience dies and impatience grows.

I just can't believe this.

Honestly, a response along the lines of "we're aware of the problem, and we're seeing what we can do to fix it" would do wonders. Right now it just sounds like they either don't know (unlikely) or don't care (more likely). Really, if I had any hint of a notion that BioWare would ignore something as crucial as the appearance of the player character, I would have created a Fight For The Not Screwing Up The Custom Face Import Procedure thread a long time ago, just to keep it top-of-mind.

would be the other way around ... getting it from PC to xbox ... I know there was a way descripted as a "workaround" that I think did that or supposed to do that. Ah well ..

The lack of a response has gone from cautious to insidious for me, how can they ignore a thread of 115 pages of legitimate concern?

I'm hoping when I get home tonight and attempt to import I won't have an issue with this.  Image IPB Pretty worrying though since as it's been said, it only effects those of us that have been with the series from day one. Not exactly comforting against the whole "trying to cater to new players" mindset that's been rampant for a while now. Oh well, I guess in about 8ish hours I'll find out for myself if I share the frustrations.

Its not just us, apparently PS3ers are having the same issues.

Okay, just downloaded all DLC and updates for ME3. Going to try importing a Shepard.

Details: Imported from ME1 but face edited in ME2. This is on the Xbox 360. I realize the issue is with ME1 unchanged imports, but at least this will help settle whether the problem extends beyond that.

Result: Decisions carried over. Nice list of all of them. That's well done. Import works for ME2 female Shep. You can edit the face - not like ME2 where you had to start over. No extra options added since the Demo CC.

Hope this helps.

I found this out last night after waiting in line for the midnight release. So frustrating and a slap in the face to long-time fans of the series.

Honestly even a Bioware response of "This is how it is. Deal with it" would at least be something.

You've got to do more than that.

Twitter, Facebook, here, everywhere you can find Biodevs.

1. Let's just hush let the Day 1 and preorder purchsses in USA and Europe go by. With all the automatic dialog and 0Day DLC we do not want to make a statement that MAJOR marketed issue in our game does not work
2. We can't do anything about it (no assets, changed character engine....take your pick) so hush and it will go away, e have enough reviewers that gave it 10/10 so maybe it will blow over
3. It's still early in the release day, we are looking into it but have no possibly good answer to calm angry long term fans, so better to keep quiet than to have Kotaku or some else hype it up...oh wait...

Changing the character engine wouldn't affect importing, at least if they had stuck with ME2's system of importing raw data... but of course they decided to import the data that not every Shepard had.
