So, I'm installing my ME3 CE right now.
Rage likely to occur in 20 minutes or so.

Okay, just downloaded all DLC and updates for ME3. Going to try importing a Shepard.

Details: Imported from ME1 but face edited in ME2. This is on the Xbox 360. I realize the issue is with ME1 unchanged imports, but at least this will help settle whether the problem extends beyond that.

Result: Decisions carried over. Nice list of all of them. That's well done. Import works for ME2 female Shep. You can edit the face - not like ME2 where you had to start over. No extra options added since the Demo CC.

Hope this helps.

How'd you trigger an ME2 face edit?  I tried to get one last night so I could copy down the code for my Shep but even when importing an ME2 character at the start of ME2 I couldnt get a listing of any code.

I paid close to 100. D:

I initially ordered it online to be shipped to my address, that came out to about 100 dollars.

Then I decided to switch it to in-store. Cheaper and I'd get the game hours earlier.

Look at how much good that did.

Please, join the club.

I'm trying to stay peaceful, but I'm getting more and more frustrated by the second.

They could have done it the lazy way, kept the CC/engine from ME2 and and add a couple of hairstyles and been done with it. But they decided to use a new CC that not even can import faces from ME2.

This is disappointing. But, if I need to recreate my Shepard's so be it.

Changing the character engine wouldn't affect importing, at least if they had stuck with ME2's system of importing raw data... but of course they decided to import the data that not every Shepard had.

Well here's the deal - you have to translate 1 set of options into a reduced set of options, so you make rules to approximate ME2 (and maybe ME1) face features to ME3.

But when a certain condition is met - too many approximations (where you would get a Cthulhu-esque face) then you show an error, instead of showing The Creature From The Black Lagoon.

Those  who let this slide with idea - "well not to many ppl will be importing faces/do not care about importing faces" is the first to blame. It this is not the case then the ones who made/let this implementation go through

Would someone mind doing my Shepards face for me via those methods posted in the OP? I'll trade Team Fortress hats. O_O I'm desparate, and too stupid to figure out the gibbededitor thing. I've spent the last 3 hours trying to figure it out.

Honestly, I'd of rather they stuck with the ME2 import thing if it meant I'd get to keep the character I created FIVE FRIGGEN YEARS AGO.

Damn it all.

The game will be waiting for me when I get home, I just hope my femshep imports properly. It would be nice if Bioware would just issue a statement about it. Even if there isn't going to be a fix, let us know. This is not the way you treat your most hardcore and loyal fans.

I'm actually getting it in-store as well, I blame the Canadian dollar.

Its not just us, apparently PS3ers are having the same issues.

I though PS3 are using the "update engine of ME3" and it being an pure ME2 import ... hmm

You believed that?

My current save has the default Shep face, no tweaks nothing. Would someone who has only used the default face have an issue with importing into 3??.

No, Sheploo is Sheploo. That headmorph is hard coded.

Fair enough, won't have an issue with my first play through.  Until i go for a 2nd playthrough with my 2nd file, then i'm gonna have issues.

I would say this is close to a deal breaker for me. I tried playing with a dif Shep last night and it just didn't feel right. Very disappointing.

This is the crux of it. Mass Effect has always been marketed as the story of YOUR Shepard, and now, people who have stayed faithful to the franchise since 2007 are being told all the work they put into created saves ready to import is more or less pointless, because the Shepard they import won't be theirs any more.

Add this to the fact that personality-defining dialogue choices are cut so dramatically, I'm not sure there is such a thing as your Shepard in ME3.

So your decisions carried over just fine? I don't believe I edited my canon FemShep in 2 as soon as I found out that doing so meant I had to start fresh with her. Really hoping I don't have to recreate her cause that was five years ago and I can honestly just attempt to get close to it at this point... I'd be a fair bit worried about my decisions if it came down to it so at least that I'm thankful will carry over without problem. Still going to cross my fingers through this workday and hope there is no headache waiting for me at home. Image IPB

Hey chil out...did you not notice how not giving you the option changing Marcus Fenixs face made the light cover shooter similar to ME3 a better game....oh ...wait...

FYI: David Silverman is not a dev. He's a marketing guy. I don't even think he works for Bioware. Pretty sure he's EA. So tweeting him won't help.

Face carryover is that bad? Oh, cool. Just another reason to not bother with the game.

Yeah, I'll deal with convo-stuff later. For now, the appearance or rather lack there of is what's setting me off.

Well I made my femshep. She looks okay - but the character faces in ME2 are so different - she somehow decided to cover her purple eyes up with blue contacts and has to add iridescent dye to her hair to make it shiny.
