My copy of ME3 is shipping right now, but frankly, this issue is a deal breaker for me and without some effective resolution I will just return unopened.

This is not the way you treat your most hardcore and loyal fans.

This is not the way you treat fans in GENERAL.

Very true. I always try and give the benefit of the doubt, but it's getting harder and harder to do with Bioware.

Or do what I'm doing- hold on to it and hope for the best.

I wanted to play with my noob Shep first, but I do have a playthrough that used the stock Shep. May have to go that route and hope this gets rectified quickly.

At least you can play... I'd rather be able to play now and redo the face. That doesn't take the 3 days I have to wait extra >: (

On a frustration level, where are y'all at right now?

For ease, scale of 1-10.

Honestly, I WISH I didn't have the game.

Then I wouldn't feel so goddamned heartbroken.

Maybe.  Not sure how long I have with Gamestop's return policy.  I usually like to support a company/franchise by buying new when it warrants it.  If it doesn't, I'd rather just return it and pick it up used for $20 in a couple of months, then it somehow won't be so tragic if my Shepard is all screwed up.

:( I even have a bona-fide ME2 face code and it still messes the face up, so it's not just backwards compatibility with ME1 that's broken. Looks like they were too concerned with making the game look like it was released in 2012, it's the entire art theme, several of the in-game characters you met in ME1 and 2 are also almost unrecognisable. (essentially, they made the characters look 'too good')

No response from Bioware yet? What a disappointment.

The worst part is that even if you do figure out the code for the Shep you imported into ME2 from ME1 it still doesn't look the same once you get it into ME3. It's like they changed how faces were built. It's the eyes. So messed up.

Yes.  Some new head rig, that doesn't quite look the same.  This also tends to suggest that there is NO easy fix for this issue.

I haven't bought it, and I still feel varying levels and sadness, frustration, anger, and so on.

I felt this, to an extent, when I played ME2. I was looking forward to it so freaking much, because I adored ME1, but it was such a different game, in terms of narrativity and immersive flow, that it didn't feel like the ME I'd first fallen in love with. I told myself I wouldn't get my hopes up, as a result, for ME3, and I didn't. That said, there have been so many little, and large, disappointments, the sheer number of them has made me feel disappointed regardless.

I really do hope that the majority of the fans do manage to enjoy the game nonetheless. I'm sure that it does play really well, that it's fun and a good game. It all depends on what parts of the game you value the most. And for those who have invested a lot of time into their Shepards since game 1 (and even since game 2), those who value the storytelling and the ability to play out Shepard's story in the way they want (within the confines of the variations the game allows, of course), it seems disappointment is inevitable.

When I imported my femshep's face, I didn't have to move any of the sliders more than one or two increments to get it back to the way it looked before, I don't see why this is such a big deal, it'll take 15 minutes to get your face back to the way it was tops.

I beat Mass Effect 12 times. Same guy.

ME2? 15 times. Same guy.

Mass 3?

I think you know the answer to that question.

Except there's literally no way for it to look the way it was before, many of the options originally in ME1 are not available in any way.

6 and about 11 for my Shepard.

This is making me sad.

I'm lucky in that the facial structure alone was pretty simple to work into a close approximation. What broke the deal for me is the fact that apparently in the last 6 months, the Salarians developed and implemented a new genetic virus that wiped all natural red hair from the galaxy.

Why have an imported appearance in the first place if its not gonna be accurate?
