The resemblance is uncanny lol.

I'm American, Cuban, Indian, Spanish, and Irish.

They removed the American, Cuban, and Spanish side, upped the Indian side quite a bit, reduced the Irish bit by a lot, changed my skin color, added facial hair, aged me, changed my hair style, AND they couldn't even show me my new appearance in color.

The hell, man.

It took 40 minutes, but I got my Shep's face back... mostly. He looks a little older and more gaunt now, fits the story well.

But just because I've dealt with it and moved on doesn't mean Bioware and EA should not be held accountable for keeping this fom us... It was a big middle finger to the most loyal fans of the series

Gotta ponytail it for combat, though.

Course, there's no long hair in the ME3 character creator, so they switched my hair with my dad's.

Yes, I mean for one, many of us won't be able to easily do this. As not all of us have an eye for detail.

The thing is, Bioware clearly know how invested people are over the appearance of their Shepards, as after the debacle of the helmet issue, we have the option to turn them off during conversations. We're that enamoured with seeing our creations, that having it covered up, even for the addition of enhanced stats isn't good enough-we want an unobstructed view.
Hell, even our first view of Shep in both previous games was built up... we're obviously more invested with each instalment. (bit behind on posting, site kept signing me out every damn time i posted!)

And now we can't even see the faces that we worked hard to create.

Marvelous, I know.

Using the gibbed-to-get-the-code thing, like I did in the demo, "Ginger Chris Pine" lives! Albeit with slightly bushier eyebrows.

Any answer as to when this will be fixed? This seems like a pretty major oversight, tbh, given the fact that ME2's importer was made to work almost perfectly.

Though to be fair, Shepad should age from ME2 to ME3.

Well I made my femshep. She looks okay - but the character faces in ME2 are so different - she somehow decided to cover her purple eyes up with blue contacts and has to add iridescent dye to her hair to make it shiny.

It sucks that you had to resort to that just to have the experience of playing ME3...I'm relunctant to boot up singleplayer because I was already disappointed with the demo...running around with a FemShep that looked nothing like mine. I tried to recreate her face but it's just not the same with the wrong color eyes, etc. I didn't mind that the hairstyles varied ever-so-slightly from ME1 to ME2, but this is too much.

I built a purple-eyed Shepard almost exclusively on the fact that it's a feature that isn't available in ME2 or ME3, so it's a clear indicator to all those who're aware that she's an ME1 Shep. Her purple eyes were a symbol for me, like, "She's been with me since ME1" pride. To do something as minor as force us to change her features makes me very...very sad. My eye color hasn't change over the course of 3 years, why should hers?

I started NG+ on ME2 to get the face code and it turns out horribly in the ME3 CC. I know in time there'd be some fan-based fix on this, other than what's been offerred. I'm just really disappointed that they aren't answering our problems...They need to address this ASAP, it's stopping people from actually playing.

This is my whole issue also. Give me purple eyes and I can salvage something. I am kind of admittedly getting lost in the ME world again but I feel shorted by my lack of appearance. :( Its not even about elitism so much as this has been who I am in the ME world for years.

I heard gray skin is in this year. On another note, I just saw that Priestly had time to make a new topic about reviews, wish he would've come in here.

Well, ME2 Shepard is not that old in ME3.

But you can see ME3 Shepard aged a bit.

Just saying.

I think I saw this coming...

When replaying playing Mass Effect 2 for the second time, I knew after you imported a save you would get the option to either recreate a face from scratch or use the old one - there was no option to customise the old one.

So I loaded up the previous save, and I jotted down the code of my custom Femshep, then imported it into my new game, and instead of using the old face chose the new face option - assuming i could enter the code to get Shep's old face and then change it slightly.

The code I noted down from my previous save, despite her custom appearance, turned out to be the code for default Femsheps face.

This is a save/appearance originally made in ME1 for one playthrough, carried over to ME2. and then played through twice.

Somewhere down the line of importing/re-importing, despite the actual appearance being OK, the face code reset to default. I'm guessing I'll have the same trouble when I get ME3 on Friday.

I started ME3 with my import and my shepard's face looks fine, no issues. Are you sure the Day 1 patch didn't fix the problem?

Is it a face imported from ME1?

It's a face created in ME1, then imported to 2, and then imported again to 3.

Wow, did it have a face code in ME2???

Mine didn't. So worried :S

There's some very unique ME1->ME2 imports where the character does end up getting a proper ME2 face code. I managed to get it on one of my "just going to take a peek at this class" imports that I never ended up using. It's the exact same face from the same savegame as my previous import which didn't get assigned a face code, and I've never been able to reproduce getting one. It's possible (I stress "possible") that the devs thought this was the case for the majority and saw the few unimportable ME1 faces as the oddity rather than the normalty.

And no, it's not the aborted custom creation bug, it's a bona-fide ME2 facecode that perfectly lines up with the ME1 character and looks... absolutely nothing like the ME2 character in ME3.

That's what happens in ME2, it gives you the code that you start customizing, not the one you end up playing with.

So this is kind of weird, I don't know if it's happened to anyone else. I ran into a Shepard VI on the Citadel with my old face. How is that possible?
