I saw this coming, had the same issue in the demo. This sucks bigtime, my exitement to play ME3 went from 10 to 3.
This needs to be fixed. ASAP. Hear me, Dr.'s?

Not true. I tried implementing two of my femsheps. It didn't give me the error message, but the "new" Shepards looked NOTHING like the old ones. Eyes, hair, nose, facial shape: everything was different. In fact, I saw a guy who posted how his femshep had changed from conversion from ME2 to 3, and my converted femshep looked EXACTLY the same as his.  I'm wondering then if it didn't convert at all, then reverted to some sort of default preset.

Can someone help me - I've changed my 360 for 3 months ago, am I screwed with importing my saves? (Screw the face right now, I just want my imports)

What it Bioware says "go away" and doesn't fix it. How bad does this hurt their reputation?

All my FemSheps have been reset, two ME1 custom and one ME1 custom+Kelly Hair. Especially with completely different/new hairstyles as the only ones available, I can't see how this would not effect FemSheps.

I can confirm that the first method in the OP does indeed work:

http://social.biowar...7811/3#9249327

You will have to re-select hair, hair color, eye color, and makeup, but the basic facial structure is preserved.  Also, while it might not look identical on the customization screen, in-game it does look the same.

I am emotional Shepard right now. :( I didn't get any sleep last night due to teething baby and been generally stressed. I had a PLAN today guys. I ordered ME3 digital deluxe and had it preloaded and ready to go, I have another game on its way - I intended to play the crap outta ME3 till evening when my other game arrives then maybe play some of it. But I am just so disheartened by losing my Shep.

Wow. People who have been giving BioWare their time and money for at least the last 5 years have to stir up a media circus to get the basic functionality of a game fixed after it's gone completely ignored for a week. They really must love their fans.

All my love goes to the good doctors, but that EA mentality seems to be filtering in more and more...

I just don't see how Bioware thought this would at all be OK. I mean, how do you recognize a person in real life, what are usually the two biggest things? Face and voice. What would you do if you bought the game and Commander Shepard was voiced by someone other than Mark Meer or Jennifer Hale? You'd say "that's not Shepard, no way!" That's how it feels.

Has anyone tried to mod the pc version to use the VI texture? i would rather use the VI with my face than with someone who isnt my shepard.

Eh, game is barley 1 day out.

I think mods need a while to come out.

Especially with this, since it was discovered only a few hour ago

My face import worked. Eyes looked weird though.

How in the hell did that happen?

I just talked to my buddy who went to a midnight release last night and he said his imported as well but that the eyes were messed up.  Can't wait to get home from work and check mine out.

As long as BioWare is aware of the problem. For now, I'm working with an "approximation" of what my character looked like, but I have many files. I do NOT look forward to recreating them all. So BioWare had BETTER be working on a patch of some-sort. This is still an enormous oversight.

If you don't have your saves, you don't have your saves.

The mods are already incoming. Female Shep I know specifically has two new skin textures.

I recognized on the VI immediately. My old Shep looks a bit more...Asian I guess? And he has the scars and a different nose. But my new and old one do look similar. I actually prefer my new one. I may go back and replay ME1 and 2 with the same slider settings and see if his looks transitions. Or maybe just ME2 and get Genesis.. ME1 is kind of a pill to get through now.

And for my Renegade Sheps, I took pride in not healing their scars as it became part of their identity and character. Yeah, they were bad asses and looked it. Not having the scars and glowing red eyes? Epic fail.

It shouldn't be hard. The file importer would just need to read the Renegade/Paragon point data and make sure the surgery option hasn't been flagged. Bam, it could implement scars.

That's what I originally thought, so I left it... until I saw someone post a picture of their renegade Shep in ME2 (with scars) and their reformed ME3 Shep (no more Scars). Despite the data... the fact you have to redesign your appearance means you have to redesign your whole damned appearance. It's a stripped down face from what I can see. Unless that one person did something different to get rid of their scars, I can only assume this is the case.

While I believe its BioWares problem and ultimately their responsibility to fix it, at least we can count on our fellow players. I know a new texture or two for FemSheps have already been mod-released (since the built-in ones aren't based on real faces and look very plastic compared to some of the MaleShep skin textures) that improve on that. If they can do that, I imagine glow scars/eyes won't be far behind.

That just the pc or can I get that on 360 too (without much hassle) I'm about as technically minded as a caveman who says this "fire thing" will never take off

It wasn't discovered a few hours ago. I appreciate that people wouldnt have been able to mod it until now but id thought id point out that people on this thread, myself included, have known about this issue since the space launches. Weeks. We have been trying to tell Bioware for weeks but they ignored us. Now their twitter is exploding with these complaints apparently. Serves them right.
