I sent him a second tweet as well
I breathed a sigh of releif until I saw him tell you to write the face code down. Which shows he didn't totally know what he was saying.

For sure, the codes aren't compatible... I remember doing this in ME2 ------> ME1. The code didn't work, and the reversed way doesn't work neither. But when clicking import will work for sure. Bioware would never let this one slip...
Clicking import is not working for multiple people, in regards to custom faces. Hence this thread. (All other info like class, who dies etc is sucesfully carried over regardless. This is strictly a cosmetic issue.)-Skorpious- wrote...
Are there any known instances of
non-modified ME characters importing successfully? Or is this only an
issue with "fake" ME2 face codes on ME imports?
So far one of the people with this issue has confirmed that he did not have a "fake" ME2 face code, so it looks like it's just an ME1 import issue over all.

Best way to figure out is to start a New Game + with the shep you're trying to recreate. It's annoying cause you have to sit through the intro, but when you get to the CC you'll have three options
Default
Imported Face and
Custom
So you can keep switching from Import to Custom to check your progress and see how close you're getting to the original face.

Just tried this, and it worked perfectly. very easy to switch back and forth until it was precisely the same.
Thanks a lot my friend.

I always wanted to do this since I first beat ME2 a week after it came out. I loathed having to go in and actually do all the edits, but I finally just said "the hell with it" and did it a couple days ago after hearing this news.
I managed to recreate my Shep to the letter with realtivly little difficulty, which was surprising. So then you get the real face code of your ME1 imported headmorph, which is good to keep on file.
Then I plugged that code in the ME3 creator and it didn't translate too well, but it was close, close enough to get a face I was comfortable calling 'My Shepard' with a few tweaks. Then, yesterday I decided to refine it a bit more and am very pleased with the outcome. I'm so confident with the match that I hardly mind at all of this issue, and I was very upset at first.
I say this because I want people to know there's still hope you can work it out. With the time left until ME3 releases, there is still ample time to recreate your Shepard. Also quite fun to pass the time.

Very nice, majority of my sheps do not have facecodes (import from ME1) but I would like to change hair styles or something. will try this. Thanks.
