Can someone help me - I've changed my 360 for 3 months ago, am I screwed with importing my saves? (Screw the face right now, I just want my imports)

If someone hasn't already answered, I believe the only way to salvage the saves is to be able to transfer them back to the hdd they were originally created on. If you don't have that anymore, I don't think there is another way.

I could be wrong. Maybe there's another workaround now, but that was what I originally saw.

Yeah, but I didn't use cloud, can that change anything?

Wait. CRAP, I just remembered I bought a new HDD and transferred everything over a few months ago. Is my import fecked? Please dont say I have to use the old HDD.... my god BioWare.....

Apparently this issue only crops up if you saved your games to the cloud and then try to puit them on a different HDD than the one they were originally saved on.  No cloud, no problem.  Cloud, same HDD, no problem. Cloud, different HDD, PROBLEM.

Damn, wish I could say the same. None of my 6 Shepards' faces either imported or looked anything like they did in the first 2 games.

If you tweaked your Shepard in ME2, the transfer works fine. Methinks that's what happened.

On an
unrelated note: Does anyone know her actual face code? I have found her
on masseffect2faces.com but the code is wrong. It doesn't create her.
She looks a lot like my own (except prettier) and maybe I can use her
code as a starting option.

She looks like mine except with red hair.

Do you have a face code for yours? Then I could just start off with that !@#$%^&* and change her hair?

I know it's a big problem, but what more can they do about it right now except look into it? Why keep bombarding them with tweets? They can't give us a 100% guarantee that they'll fix it, a date for the patch release, so there's no point.

The more people that show dissatisfaction with their product, the less money they will make.  The greater the threat of profit loss, the more resources and time they will develop to fix the problem.  It seems like a dick move, I know, but it's effective.

Is it a custom face or just Sheploo?

I feel bad for them too. I'm sure they'd rather be basking in the glow of all the good press, but this is a serious problem.

If this was a single bugged decision, or a favorite armor that wasn't carried over, I'd understand. But Shepard's face?! That's a fundamental building block of the entire experience.

Because it should have been dealt with earlier. They were bragging about all the time they spent working on the DLC (which admitedly looks awesome) and parts of their main game doesn't work.

Indeed. PLC, tell 'em to stop spamming in the OP. though the "Stop trolling!" bit made me lol. Hopefully a patch will be ready by UK launch.

If you physically do not have your saves, I don't know how you expect anyone to be able to help you. If you don't have the hard drive you had them on, you cannot import them. That's like having a conversation with your brother on the phone and asking if you could try one of the chips he's eating. They're just inaccessible.

No - I've got my saves ON THE NEW HARDDRIVE. You know, I bought a new Xbox 360 and transfered my save files over from the old one. They are working perfectly and I've playing my save files on the new Xbox. So, will there be an issue or does this concern only save files transfered via Cloud?

You're golden.

It's not their faults : a lot of people are finding out for this issue right now, so they directly go on twitter and ask for answers.

Not every buyer of ME3 (and ME1 player) has been visiting this thread.

Sure? There have been issues with that. Just look at this quote from kotaku:
Anyone who kept their Mass Effect 2[/i] saves on the Cloud (and this is the Xbox 360 version specifically we're talking about here), you can't import them from there. You need to import it from a HDD. With a catch: you need to re-download it to the HDD it was originally created on. Hope you haven't bought a new Xbox in the last two years!

Do they mean only cloud saves or even the HDD saves?

Because the same canned answer doesn't tell anyone anything. Basically they are feeding us a line to placate us. I'm not annoyed at the people running ME tweet. I am annoyed at the fact they won't give an official statement saying they know there is a problem and what they intend to do other than just look into it. If they actually acted like they cared about our concerns, people would back off more. Just sayin

And they could have said something days ago. Yeah, I would have still been pissed, but I could respect their honesty.

I don't want to be rude but i dont think this thread is the place to discuss this. This thread is specifically about the faces. Make a new topic.

Guys, the game's been released. Bioware doesn't care anymore. Otherwise there would've been some news days ago.

Hmm unfortunately I'm having this problem for my Femshep too. I created her in ME1, she had scars, and I didn't change her at all in ME2. Obviously she doesn't have a scar anymore because ME2 healed everything (being a paragon). But, now I get that error message that her face code can't be imported.
I guess I'll have to wait until it's patched. I can't begin to follow the complicated save state editor threads. I certainly am not going to redo her from scratch. I don't even have ME1 or ME2 installed anymore to reference.

There's a workaround if you have Gibbed.

http://social.biowar...47811/3#9249327

If they don't fix it I'm definitely using that method.

130 pages and still no response. Bioware are lucky that they are in the gaming industry, most other industries are not so forgiving for major blunders.

Funny they have the time to close a lot of threats even refer to this one and yet after 7 days and 130!!! pages they don't even bother to respond to such a common issue.
Was bioware always like this?
