I just want to add my voice to the mix.

I love the ME franchise, because of how I've experienced a consistent story with my character. She's made mistakes and I've lived with the consequences - in most other games, I just reload a save game. I was looking forward to continuing this adventure to the conclusion. I even boycotted the demo, because I wanted to experience it as purely as possible...

I got home for work today, opened up my collector's edition and got ready to play - but this brick wall has knocked the wind out of me entirely. This bug has put in place an enormous impediment to one of the greatest features of any RPG I've ever played. (Yes, I'm going to try to recreate my FemShep as best as I can, but I am immensely dissapointed.)

If I'm unable to recreate her, I guess I'll just wait until this bug is fixed before I start playing.

If it doesn't get fixed, I guess I'm done with your games until you do fix it. And I LOVE your games. But this is such a huge betrayal of trust and reasonable expectations - not to mention such a gigantic display of incompetence and lack of consideration for your users - I feel there's really no other recourse.

I don't really post on forums. I never post to whine and moan. But man, you just kicked me in the nuts, BioWare. You had one of the greatest things going and you really screwed it up. :crying:

I don't want free stuff. I don't want an apology. I just want a patch, ASAP.

Who agrees that BioWare should give us free DLC after they fix this, for making us wait and giving us the middle finger

No one.

At least, they shouldn't.

We're all being drama queens about this, myself included. It's an issue, sure. And we're overblowing it to ensure it is dealt with (that's the way of the internet). But no one deserves anything for free because of this.

Honestly, we aren't being drama queens though..we invested SO much time into our character and to have that taken away from us in the finale (on purpose, because they HAD to have known about it) is such a big "F-U" to the fans.

There are multiple ways to reconstruct your Shepard with varying degrees of accuracy. Even just eyeballing it, I was able to get a near-perfect copy in the demo - and I haven't touched the creator since ME1 was released. Yeah, it's very annoying. Yeah, it needs to be fixed as soon as possible. But no, it isn't game-breaking nor do we deserve compensation for an annoyance that is only as major as we decide ourselves.

And this is coming from someone with multiple playthroughs... all using the same Shepard.

I was right with everyone in their zeal until your post.

The most we can "demand" is a fix to the issue. Nothing more. That's just acting entitled to things that we are not. And I draw the line there.

I agree. I only ask that Bioware makes this right. Nothing more. I believe that I should give them a week to fix this problem. That is more then fair. Until then, the game is essentially unplayable. We are entitled to a game that isn't broken in my opinion.

I refuse to give them a week.  They had the time to develop day 1 DLC but not ensure that a critical component of the main game was functional?

It is very upsetting and will be difficult to wait even one day to play this game that I paid for. That is why I said a week is more then fair considering the consequences may include me selling the game and banning all current and future bioware products from my home. I would have expected this from some hack developer like Infinity Ward but I am disappointed that bioware would release this game with this type of significant problem. I haven't played the game yet but perhaps they didn't take the effort needed with the remainder of the project? I hope that is not the case.

Good.

I still find it extremely hard to believe they didn't catch this before release. I mean seriously now...

Thanks, but we already knew that since they're referring to Chris' stickied thread here on the BSN.

My problem is that they aren't being upfront about this information on THEIR OFFICIAL FORUMS.

LOL they can get DLC on day one but they can't give us a working game? Maybe instead of working on the DLC you should have tested the game, just an idea. The least you could do is give us an ETA.

I managed to import my ME1 character successfully to ME3 using OP's Xbox and Modio technique. Needless to say I'm glad I did it.

Really, it gets the facial structures perfectly, just doesn't give you the original hair/skin/colors etc so if you know how your Shepard looks. (Which I'm sure you do) just alter and tweak around it and you'll have your original Shep in no time. :)

Also, don't let the custom screen fool you, I didn't like how she looked at first while customizing her, but in the end as the scenes started to unravel I recognized her right off the bat.

To me this ME1 to ME3 face importing dont matter. Since I used the Default face and leme tell you, I love the default more than customized ones.

Doesn't mean I'm glad that the imports doesn't work. I shouldn't have to go through all that trouble to get my original Shep

I just can't believe (being a programmer myself) that they didn't encountered this bug in their testing.
Ofcourse they knew about this issue.

What I think what happend is this; "Yo, we encountered this bug when importing an character from ME2 which has previously been imported out of ME1" Head of beta-testing answers with; "Ah that's just a minor bug, they can easily recreate their character in just a couple of minutes, not a big deal. Just wait untill release, and if we get a lot of complaints MAYBE we will fix it."

I KNOW how these testing procedures work, and they have seen this issue, but they probably had bigger issue's so they ignored this one.

And you're welcome to your opinion, I just want to be able to bring the Shepard I've experienced both ME1 and ME2 with into this final adventure...

Well, since they got their day 1 sales now they decided to acknowledge the problem. And they say they're working on a patch: https://twitter.com/...173342766379008
