Not as far as I remember. He said that some error popped up on screen, and he then had to create a new face for his Shepard.Paul Sedgmore wrote...
Hopefully that means it was just a bit of corrupt code in the save file. This isn't something that should get past QA. Has the guy who got this detailed what error came up?

Of course they won't respond because this is (probably) true. If it were not, they would just say "Yes, you can import without problems all your Shepards from Mass Effect 1 that were imported into Mass Effect 2 and completed said games." Such response would end the question without any sort of uproar.
Now, imagine if they said: "Sorry, but when you import a custom Shepard firstly created on Mass Effect 1 the face won't load correctly. You will have to use the default face or create another one from scratch."...

developers have stated repeatedly that we can over the past few months...why would saying again now matter if no one beleives them anyway

Because months ago no one had the game and actually experience this issue. Now we have a user from the Spoiler group and a user from the something awful forums who COULD NOT do the bolded bit above,. yet the devs are not responding to the issue. Not on twitter, not on forums posts or forum messages.
They did however respond to a message about gibbed editor character saves that only had 3 pages.
We've got 20 now and no word....that's highly suspect.
I'd also like to include that by at the time both users made it know they had an issue,. only 4 of the space launches had happened, which means of the Xbox 360 copies out at the time, a large percentage of them were not able to import ME2 saves with ME1 face information.

How many is that?Ecmoose wrote...
Correct. I'd like to assume that the rest of the people have not had the issue.

Some of them are PS3 copies though. I guess all the others are too busy actually playing the game.KiddDaBeauty wrote...
Yeah we have what, some 16 or so copies out there? Out of them, 2 have reported issues. That's 1/8. 7/8 have not said that everything worked (afaik any way), rather they're just quiet. For all we know they may not even have tried.

Well, Bioware could just, you know, give us a straight answer. Then we would all shut up, and stop bumping this thread to the front pageNaltair wrote...

historic videogame fail in the making if true. why no comment from bioware?
...cause failing to respond to fans' concerns has earned bethesda so much love.
RIP original Jordan Shepard, 3/6/12. You survived the battle of the citadel and assault on the collector base, but couldn't overcome the ME:3 character creator.

Yeah. Not the reaction you would expect from a community that cares so much about immersion. Not hating or anything, just saying.davidshooter wrote...
Wow, still no comment?
I can't believe more people aren't concerned about this.

If there really was no problem, you'd think that Bioware would have told us to shut up already. I think that's what worries people at this point.Wulfram wrote...

The evidence that this is an actual problem seems a little weak to me. And even if it is a problem, it'll likely be patched by the time I get the game.
edit: but still, there's a free bump for you.
