You can't import a face created in Mass Effect 1 into 3! Bioware has responded! (See OP)

The only way to get a response by bioware is get publicity, that is it.

@NN77 sure, I can see what I can do. ME2 screens are what I normally use, since other than being the most recent game, the facial definition is a little more pronounced.
But I'll see what I can do for sure. I'm going to be at work most of today, so you won't hear from me til this evening, but I'll be free after that.
Great thanks! I'll try to pm you them in a couple of hours

You should send something to totalbiscuit or some gaming fansites/magazines, sure its not something that breaks the game 100%, but its enough to warrant a brush under the carpet by bioware. Ergo the complete denial of this thread.

Anyone fancy giving Twitter a go?

Don't know if I have the balls to do that. Wouldn't that get me banned from here?MartinDN wrote...

Well im not sure, but having a thread is simply not cutting it anymore and were 3-6 days away from release without an answer.
Its not like people having saves originating from me1 are in the minority, its a major problem if a devoloper who prides itself on story, takes away our own created link who has been the main part of the story since day 1. Note i know they would not do it on purpose, but they do not test these games anymore ? Import only seems to work, as far as i know on PS3, what does that tell you?
Maybe pm chris? He usually seems to be helpful if were not causing trouble and just want an answer.

Sucks a big one, give it today and if not send something to TB, hes importing chars too aswell as one of the mouthpieces for the gaming community. It would shed more light atleast for the people who dont frequent BSN.
Btw you cannot be banned just for that, if they truly did it would be a breach of free speech - you only wish for an answer, 4 days is a long time for an issue that is as important as this is to some people.

They've been asked directly (for days now) a simple yes no question. They responded with a non answer at first and now are ignoring you. This will cause a major ****storm on release. Makes me wonder if that's why Priestly made that odd request a few weeks ago that we should not import our Sheps until the second playthrough - damage control? Maybe I'm just paranoid though.

Many ME2 face codes doesn't work right in ME3.Shadeart wrote...
IMO What you can do is saving the facial code and paste it in the right space. (it was possibile in the demo i hope it'll be in the full game too).

They might be trying to get a 100% answer on it through test and such. Better not to answer blindly.

Fairly major oversight, isn't it? I'm sure the community will find some way of blaming EA, but we do actually need some sort of response now.
Edit - I think 10,000 thread views warrant one.

Hopefully, the guy I contacted on youtube will write back tonight, and tell us if he was able to import his Shep or not.

Only a few got the game, they could be testing the problem out, seeing if its widespread or rare, and probaly trying to get a fix. But its better to come out all at once with whats going on then bits at a time.
And its not impossible to play with your ME1 shepard just recreate him/her in ME2, or get that guy in this thread to do it for you.

People are not pissed off, becuase they may have to rebuild their Shepard. What pisses us off, is the fact that the game doesn't do it for you in the first place. Something like this shouldn't be an issue!John Never Dies wrote...

What are you talking about. All I said was they are trying to figure **** out and I gave advice on how if there is a problem how to recreate his SHepard.
I never said anything about how people are pissed off, Calm yourself.

And besides, people have stated even recreated faces, with face codes attached from me2, do not work in properly in me3. Might not be same for everyone, was same for me though least the demo, was about as close to my shep as roger rabbit is.

Even if we did recreate him in me2, why should we have to play through the game again, and lose out on choices from me1 i might add, just to get the face that should be imported to me3 in the first place?

You don't have to play through the game again to recreate your Shepard, all you need is the facecode.
In ME3 no matter what character you import you can edit him/her. So if I import my ME2 guy I can edit him in ME3. So all you need is a ME2 facecode, no need to replay the game.
