hopefully it'll convince them to make a patch. :\\ I can't believe they would overlook this. I'm holding onto a small amount hope that either a patch is already coming or the real retail versions will not be like the space editions.. lol.

Ok, so if I used my Shep's recreated face code and try to power though a ME2 playthrough in two days, will I get the face?

This is very very bad... How can Bioware do something like this, I think one of the biggest things with ME is everybody have their on Shepard and story and now has Bioware made it impossible to import a ME1 Shepard...

I'm pretty sure a day 1 patch has been confirmed. What it fixes, we have no idea, so there is still hope that Tuesday won't be a complete ragefest.

Wouldent you then lose all side choices relating to me1, aka conrad verner?

Doesn't really bother me. My ME1 shep was ugly so I changed his face in ME2.

So all me1 saves are affected or custom saves?

There's no need to power through a playthrough in two days, once you have a viable face code.

Just enter the face code in the ME3 CC. All your game choices will still carry over from ME2.

Pretty poor form, Bioware

Yup.

I have to say, this disappoints me far more than hearing that Shepard auto-responds or that the ending is depressing. Maybe I can trick myself into believing that any differences I notice in the character's appearence are caused by the upgrade in graphics.

I don't think I ever did. Each time I stared a new game, Conrad always showed up like he was supposed to. Doing a NG+ never seemed to affect my ME1 choices

The face code I had made my Shep look like a squirrel in the demo. I'm not putting a whole lot of faith in entering a face code.

are you kidding me? We have Dev confirmation now?

This is what you get for deciding to change your entire CC in the second game. Poor form Bioware, poor form indeed.

From what I remember, when the ME3 demo came out, you could Not import your actual Shepard into the demo.

Of, course, ppl wanted to get a look at their Shep. in game, so they used face codes. Sometimes the face codes worked okay. Sometimes they didn't.

The devs said something abt. the face codes themselves didn't always transfer correctly into the demo. The player really needs to import the actual Shepard into the actual game. Not pasting face codes.

As far as this guy and his tremendous luck at having 2 copies for him and his missus....maybe he's just a goof ball.

I expect Shep. may look a bit different. Like when I imported from Me1 to ME2 (make up was way too much). But nothing fundamental.

I think we have to wait and do it properly. By that I mean an actual import, and not face codes.

They had no problem w/ importing from ME1 to ME2. I don't see why now it would be a problem.

Pretty sure? If it was said in the forums by a developer somewhere, please share it.

ME2 and 3 have an entirely different CC system then ME1 did (ME1 had facemorphs, ME2 and 3 use facecodes).  What it seems to be is that only facecodes will transfer to ME3.

To me, this seems like they were focusing solely on pleasing their PS3 audience with this game, and focusing more on that than the other two.  Since that's the only way this could happen, since if they had kept it PC/Xbox there's NO way they wouldn't work around this.

If the day 1 patch was going to fix this then they would have said it. It's obvious it isn't going to be fixed.

Well... ME3 demo CC was incomplete so it's no wonder if you get wonky results.

It's just pure laziness or bad resource management if it doesn't work like in ME2. It should too long for one guy to do it.

AFAIK preload ME3 has that patch already.

we can still tweek the face though - it does not flat out reject the import.

I took the time to extract a facecode from ME1 two years ago, so I have a working ME2 facecode that is identical to my ME1 face. It will import fine into ME3, and even just copying the facecode into the demo CC resulted in decent look. Haven't decided which I will do, though.

That's kind of the point, though. If you imported direct from ME1 to ME2, you can't import that face into ME3. That's what this thread is about. It's not an issue of being able to reject the import.
