You can't import a face created in Mass Effect 1 into 3! Bioware has responded! (See OP)

Ok, so if I used my Shep's recreated face code and try to power though a ME2 playthrough in two days, will I get the face?
There's no need to power through a playthrough in two days, once you have a viable face code.
Just enter the face code in the ME3 CC. All your game choices will still carry over from ME2.
The face code I had made my Shep look like a squirrel in the demo. I'm not putting a whole lot of faith in entering a face code.
I wouldn't put a whole lot of faith in the import not looking like a squirrel to be honest.

i'm happy for all of you guys who have time to torture yourselves with character creator, but have some sympathy for those who have no time or desire to do this hardly enjoyable stuff
Not looking forward to going through the trouble of recreating her again.

I did that too. Perfect match, except eye colour and blush. If you look the raw data other colour values were a bit different too but structurally it was 100% the same.JamieCOTC wrote...
What I originally did was to recreate my canon femshep in ME2, then I had a code. I took that code and converted it into ME1 sliders and recreated her in ME1. Upon importing her into ME2 again, the import and face code were an exact match.

This is really annoying. Two of my Shepards were made in ME1, and the sliders worked vwel enough in the demo for one of them.
That guy is probably a troll or otherwise ignorant.
Probably time to get out of the Mass Effect forums before I stumble across further spoilers =/

It may not work for everyone, but I suggest many people try this out, so that if you DO have to recreate your Shep, you have a good starting point.

So... where has this been confirmed
Xoisite had problems importing any of his ME1 shepards. Thats our only info though, it could just be only effecting him? I personally haven't heard others have issues, and none of the reviews have mentioned it yet.

is there any way to open up the char face editor from game start through some console command? as one is able to open up the race/appearance choice screen in Skyrim aswell? is there even a console window one can open in ME2?
this issue makes me glad I was unable to preorder ME3, I took days to make a face for ME1 I was happy with, not being able to continue on with my Shep in ME3 with the face I made could easily become a game ruiner issue for me, just as some bugs (and a black street kid as child for 2 white nobles) in Fable 3 were too.

Don't you tell me that it was too hard to implement this. Seriously. You can have characters that live or die depending on your choices in prior games, characters that reacts to something you did two games ago, but you can't let us import a damn face? Are you serious. This HAS to be a joke. There's no way a **** up of this proportion would make it into the final product. No. Damn. Way!
This is why we need official word, are the devs seeing this thread and just ignoring it? Or have they not seen it at all? Its kind of hard to miss at this point...30 pages.
